Man arrested for self identifying as a converted muslim woman.

I think this throws the door open for all kinds of questions about fairness.

Men have been banned from covering their faces at protests so one man identified as a muslim woman and wore a burka, he was arrested.

I've seen 2 media outlets so far with headlines reporting that 'a man' has been arrested.

If we break it down...

If a 'real' muslim woman attends a protest (a Pro Palestine one for example) would she be arrested?

Has he been arrested for wearing the burka or identifying as a woman falsly?

Why is he not believed when he says he is a woman?

After all, it is fluid day to day and just a feeling! And any man can decide to become a woman at any point?

And who says he cannot decide to convert to Islam??

And why is he being reported as 'a man in a burka' when transwomen are NEVER reported this way when they self identify, even after committing rape?!

We all know why he is doing this.

But he is simply playing the establishment at their own game.

Why have so many Palestine protests occoured with men covering their faces with Kaffirs and balaclavas but it only becomes a problem now?

Why is it a problem to self identify now?

Why is it not a problem for a muslim woman to cover her face in a bank or school or park but this 'muslim woman' cannot?

Of course its ridiculous

But the point is that ALL self identification and complete covering of the face in public is ridiculous

But its only this man be arresed and called out for seemingly both things?

Man arrested for self identifying as a converted muslim woman.

Why else do they do it?

They literally say it is to avoid a man feeling lust??

For 20+ years, I have supported the banning of all face coverings in public places. It's a fudge that the niqab and burqua have not been excluded in the recent adjustment to the law. The situation the police have found themselves in was predictable. It's unfair on the police that the government has put them in this position.

GreenFootstool · 12/09/2026 18:35

Rollingpinofdoom · 12/09/2026 18:28

But then the police must explain why they believe this person is not a Muslim woman. I mean, he says he is, so why should they not accept his word? Aren’t we always told no one would pretend to be trans, so all people claiming a trans identity are honest?

Fortunately the offence isn't predicated on sex, religion or gender identity - just face coverings being worn to conceal identity at a protest. I can't see that any of the arguments the OP is making are eligible as defences.

titchy · 12/09/2026 18:33

Irrelevant. No one wearing face coverings can attend a protest in this specific instance. That would of course include females wearing Islamic face coverings.

Do you get that it’s only in very specific circumstances that there is this law?

Yes. Oh yes. Funny when masked men were attacking women’s events this law was never enacted…. It does seem very specific events. Still jot sure why they believe this police claim he isn’t a woman though…

ShitHoleDweller · 12/09/2026 18:37

I suspect he’ll be nicked for a hate crime.

it was interesting to see they already have laws in place to outlaw face coverings at protests. I hope they’ll be doing the same with all the anti-Israel protests.

i suspect this is the start of banning face coverings for all protests.

GreenFootstool · 12/09/2026 18:40

Ah, I'm wrong on the legal defences:

https://www.cps.gov.uk/prosecution-guidance/protests-potential-offences-during-protests-demonstrations-or-campaigns-annex#_an2

Section 157(2) provides for a defence where the person used the concealing item for any of the following purposes:

  • A purpose relating to the health of the person or others.
  • The purposes of religious observance.
  • A purpose relating to the person’s work.

The defence places a reverse legal burden on the defendant to prove the defence (on the balance of probabilities).

So it'll be for the defence to prove the religious observance claim.

I would happily pop up to Pompey Crown Court to watch that hearing....

Its the same answer as always.

Taking the piss out of minorities isn't feminism.

thefeetarefirst · 12/09/2026 18:43

The whole sudden concern in the media about men covering their faces is enraging. TRAs have been intimidating women like this for ages, then the Palestine marchers. And the whole black out thing started with environmental protestors.

No one gave a shit when this intimidatory behaviour was from the left for causes on the left.

500-600 white working class men do it though and suddenly it becomes a Thing everyone is concerned about.

Absolute hypocrites.

To be fair, it doesn't stop men raping them either. They're just oppressed full stop.

I have zero time for men pretending to be women and patriarchal cultures that restrict women and make them cover their faces.

TransParentlyAnnoyed · 12/09/2026 18:44

You equating a bloke taking the piss out of Muslim women with trans people isn't feminism either.

Racism, Islamophobia and transphobia usually go together, as is proved with this tragic, piss-taking individual.

We all self-ID. No one gives people badges & certification decorating we're straight, gay, bi, pan, trans, ace, disabled - or women.

Self-ID is everyday, normal and unremarkable. Whereas dressing up as a Muslim woman is Islamophobic mockery.

Hope this helps :)

Me too. Until lately the police were very pro Self ID. Wonder why this stunning and brave lady’s identity was denied??

But hold on, you have been in other threads saying we have to accept people when they tell us who they are. She said she was a Muslim woman. Why are we disbelieving her, but believing other males who claim to be women? What is the difference? How do you know he is not a Muslim woman?

Wait, why is this bloke taking the piss out of muslim women

But a 17st bloke with a beard in a mini skirt in the womens toilets isn't taking the piss???

Just look at the debatacle in Aus.

Roxy Tickle??? You don't think that man is taking the piss??

Any real woman named Roxy Tickle would have changed her name the minute she hit 18, that name just proves his fetishism.

And I thought we were ALWAYS SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE when they tell us who they are.

So I believe this stunning, brave woman!

So why is it a danger in this case?

AwfulButTrue · 12/09/2026 18:51

@TransParentlyAnnoyed I am really surprised that you have decided to misgender and invalidate this transwomans feelings and identity.

I cannot imagine how painful it must be for her to see herself being misgendered all over social media.

Don't ALL trans lives matter??

So early in her transition too :( I hope this doesn't set her confidence back.

She literally says she wears it to stop men being attracted to her and to stop them getting aroused.

@alcovecupboards am interested in your response?

Or are you going to tell me that woman doesn't know her own religion and what she has been taught growing up?
