Guardian: weaponised emotional blackmail from 14yo 'trans' athlete

teawamutu · Yesterday 17:40

The Guardian's rearguard action on reality continues. Apparently the problem is not the parents and authorities who conspired to lie to this boy, coddle his delusions, disadvantage all girls around him in the service of his own wishful thinking etc etc etc: it's definitely the people who pointed it out:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/jun/17/trans-athlete-no-one-should-face-vicious-attacks

I am prepared to feel a little sorry for the kid, who couldn't have been exposed like this if the useful idiots around him had done their fucking jobs. But the Grauniad can fuck off with the tired 'beee kiiiind' shit as a solution. Been there, binned the t-shirt. We want our shit back.

I’m a 14-year-old trans athlete. No one should face the vicious attacks I have faced | Lina Haaga

People understand gender differently, and I was taught to respect all ideas. But the vitriol I recently experienced was not a healthy debate

Poor girl. When will this hatred of transgirls subside? Hope she doesn't let it get to her too much.

Of course no 14 year old should have to read negativity about themselves in a newspaper. But then again, no 14 should be used by adults , which is what is clearly happening to this child, to promote lies .

Humans can not change sex.

Sex is not the same as gender.

A 14 year old boy on the point of puberty has no reason to run in a race for girls. If he wants to run competitively he should be running against other boys.

I DO wish we lived in a world where demi-gerbils, trans-condas, pans-condas, non-binary gerbils, and everyone else all lived and loved in harmony. Why shouldn't the tiger enjoy sewing, just because she has big clumsy claws and everyone says that sewing isn't something that tigers should ever do? Why should she be defined by her stripes? She didn't ask for them. And why should the bunny be sweet all the time, just because he looks harmless? He might be hiding a criminal mastermind under all that fluff. Looks can be deceptive.

CassOle · Yesterday 22:57

So, is Medusa a demi-girl or a demi-snake?
Also, the Minotaur: demi-boy or demi-bull?

Plus, why demi-girl/boy rather than demi-woman/man?

"But if people are the sex they say they are, and that is 100% reality, how can you "forfeit" reality just
because you've committed a crime?"

Dumpy has decreed them to be the wrong kind of trans.

But how can we tell? If our reality is actually all in their minds, I'd really like to know how we can tell "genuine trans people" from "non-genuine trans people." It's important for me to be able to correctly identify what my actual reality is, or else how will I know if I'm living in reality or not?

I don't suppose we'll ever get a useful answer to this, but I live in hope.

In any event, it would be a lot more interesting than the usual "I'm still living in 2020" tripe that keeps being rolled out.

Not at all. If the anaconda was really a gerbil, of course it wouldn't eat gerbils.

Can I just say once again, that the anaconda/gerbil analogy was NOT started by me.

Edited

And if anacondas who identify as gerbils eat gerbils at the same rate as other anacondas should they still go in with the gerbils?

Hi, Dumpy, glad you're back.

Re your previous post

Since they are criminals who are convicted of rape, they've forfeited their right to be believed that they are who they say they are.

I'd really appreciate an answer to my questions I posted upthread, thanks:

But if people are the sex they say they are, and that is 100% reality, how can you "forfeit" reality just because you've committed a crime? Either it is or it isn't reality. Reality cannot be changed just because someone thinks it should.

So, which is it? Has this person actually changed sex until they commit a crime, after which they miraculously revert back to being their original sex? Or is the reality that they never changed sex in the first place?

Are you sure? That didn’t end so well for Richard Gere.

Until it got really really hungry. Because it's biologically designed to eat gerbils.

How anyone can spout this gibberish with a straight face ...

I'll never know

Is not my gibberish. It belongs to the interwebs.

LazyFoxy · Yesterday 23:11

Wow- transitioned at 4 years old! Poor child.

Dumpyvictoria is spouting stuff that has been heard before! On these boards, by all of us. Nothing new at all.
Sex isn't assigned at birth and cis is neither necessary nor helpful.

The absolute gall of someone telling the well-informed and educated women here a load of bull is something to see.

DV thinks convicted rapists shouldn't be locked up with female prisoners. So that's something.
or is DV having a laugh? (possibly) and been nominated by friends to "go on MN and wind 'em all up" ?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · Yesterday 23:12

DumpyVictoria · Yesterday 21:29

To be clear: Convicted rapists should not be locked up with female prisoners, in my view.

The problem is that, if you say we must believe the nice boy who says he’s a girl, @DumpyVictoria, we must also believe the convicted rapist who says he is a woman, or the predatory man who says he’s is a woman, or the intact male who says he is a woman and a lesbian, and that other lesbians are transphobes and bigots if they won’t let him have penetrative sex with them. They are different ends of the matter, but the trans rights activists use the nice trans ‘girl’ who just wants to play his sport to force us to accept the more extreme parts of their ideology. You will not be allowed to say that the trans women rapists are not real women, or that they should not be locked up with women.

This is the ideology you are espousing - I choose to accept none of it, and will not accept any male bodied persons in women’s or girls’ single SEX spaces.

Women need and deserve single SEX spaces, away from male bodied individuals.

We do live in that world.

It’s just the anacondas refused to stop being anacondas and ate all the gerbils. Because anacondas are going to anaconda.

And the men refused to stop raping women and insisted they were perfectly safe and most definitely not rapists and then they went and raped women in women’s spaces. Because men are going to men and we can’t tell the non-rapey kind from the rapey ones.

So we stop all of the men and the non-rapey men are fine with our boundaries.

I didn't mean anything about intersex, but you have a point. I meant that feeling as if you are the opposite sex to your body can also have a biological basis. Sorry to spoil your bingo card.

I think it's very sexist to be defined only by your genitals.

Edited

If being defined by your genitals is sexist then how do you feel about people using outdated male and female stereotypes to define their sexuality?

RumNotRun · Yesterday 23:20

DumpyVictoria · Yesterday 21:29

To be clear: Convicted rapists should not be locked up with female prisoners, in my view.

So does that mean a transwoman becomes a man again when they commit a crime? Or were they always a man, just pretending to be trans? If the latter, please tell me how we can tell the difference.

murasaki · Yesterday 23:20

I find it much more offensive to be defined by skirts, long hair and make up than by my uterus.

Oh, well, this is disappointing. I thought we were finally going to get a proper answer from someone who had facts to back up their assertions. I suppose I will just have to chalk this one up to "has no idea what they are talking about, maybe once just heard someone say something like this." Very poor effort on your part, I have to say.

I will also now have to assume that all of your other assertions of "facts" also have no basis in reality. I can't say I'm surprised, but it is most disappointing.

I may have had some wine.

I actually prefer this answer. Thanks for being honest about that at least.

Although, I don't believe you have actually had any wine, because in my head, my reality is telling me that you haven't. And, of course, that's the truth because I thought it. In my mind.
