Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5456759-sexismother-issues-in-the-green-party-england-wales-discussion-thread-2?

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

Did they make use of the all women short list legislation to create postions that are specifically for women or is this different?

The Eastern Region send two delegates to the Green Party Council. One male & one female or in this case two males. It's illegal for a male to take the place intended for a biological female.

fromorbit · 05/09/2026 08:17

Folan is suspended. Given his well documented abuse of other members and Caroline Lucas former leaders of the party and racist comments hardly surprising. If Folan had just stuck to being sexist he would have got away with it.

Note Folan will blame this on the Jews and implicitly Zack Polanski though maybe women will get some blame too.

I think Folan's suspension was fast tracked because Zippy wants to be an MP.

A whole year of mad Zack
How Zack Polanski and the doolally left conquered the Green Party.
Happy first anniversary to the most preposterous party leader Britain has ever had. Yes, it’s 12 months since Zack Polanski took the reins of the Greens. Twelve months since he left behind his tit-whispering days to become the pied piper of woke pricks everywhere. And what an unintentionally comical 12 months it has been.

Thanks for the link to the Daily Fail, pissed off that they kept referring to him with his stolen pronouns, and it seems he's suspended because of his vile Jew hatred. As he should be, but the fact that he's a male and therefore should not have been allowed to stand for a seat that the Green's had set aside for a female, seems to be secondary to the Omnicause complaint. 😤

Oh yes little Owen was insisting he spoke for queer Muslims the other day, when he was asserting something about how Sharia Law isn't a threat to LGBTQ people or something. I mentioned before he's now signed up to Zeteo which is the purported anti je billionaire news outlet being promoted by Mehdi Hassan. Mothin in trouble

Kelvin MacKenzie

The Sunday Times says Mothin Ali, deputy leader of the Greens, whose policy is to “ abolish landlords” owns two buy-to-let rental properties in the Gipton area of Leeds where he’s a councillor.
Ali bought a three-bed former council house for £172K in June, 2022 and bought another for £157K in March last year.
Three -bed places in the area rent for between £1,000-£1,300 a month.
The homes were bought through his company MA Holdings and with buy-to-let mortgages.
Abolishing landlords was made Greens policy last October under a six step scheme to force private landlords out of the market and in the event of a sale the tenant had first right and then the council.’
Ali has kept absolutely schtum about his ownership and without the Sunday Times journalism his hypocrisy would have remained a secret.
Why didn’t he sell the places once Greens policy was clear?
As the deputy leader he would have known months in advance what was heading his way.

Oh no is Mothin Ali one of those capitalist landlord parasite types that he preaches against, well I'll go to the foot of me stairs.
What a two faced hypocrite anyone who votes for this party are a part of the problem not the solution.
Well done The Sunday Times for exposing this man as a phoney and a charlatan, a classic case of one law for thee, no law for me. 😤

I'm sure the left wing of the greens are up in arms about this (I'd check stats for lefties and India Willoughby but it means downloading twitter) but the point is the greens know they'll have to put up with this because he's got too much of a Global Majority Green power base to try and get him to give up his properties. Is owning a buy to let a disciplinary offence for the greens? Doubt it

I think Hannah Spencer still has her portfolio too?

Edited

I think Mothin's reputation is getting worse and he will probably face multiple challenges in 2027 when he has to stand again and he won't win.

I don't think anyone knows how the October conference will go. Who will mobilise the most effectively? Will Zack try and push the conference in a particular way? He certainly did that in the Spring.

We know that a lot of radical leftists have joined the Greens, but also there are lots of old school Greens, and a lot of generic ZP fans who who might be influenced towards whatever the leadership supports over ideology.

Articles on this all over the place. It seems he was renting ex council properties to family members.

Peter Hague

So he uses a tax efficient shell company to rent out a property to his relatives who sound like they are on benefits - in other words this family is tricking the UK taxpayer into buying them a house. I suspect this particular scam is quite common. Even if it’s legal, it’s wrong.

'Green Party by-election candidate Hannah Spencer has been branded a “property-hoarding hypocrite” by Labour after it was claimed she owns multiple properties worth around £1.2m.
The allegations have surfaced just days before the Gorton and Denton by-election in Manchester, which could cost Keir Starmer his job if the Greens manage to overturn a large Labour majority.
According to The Mail on Sunday, Spencer, 34, owns several homes, including a second property allegedly bought in 2024. The report also highlights historic posts on Mumsnet and other posts in which Spencer discusses how sellers should approach negotiations and choose between buyers.'

They don't have a problem with hypocrisy. The rest of us have a problem with their hypocrisy.

The Greens have always had this issue it is just when they shifted to the more to the populist left with very simplistic views you are going to call out the middle class bourgeois nature of the party more.

Of course one could argue politics in general has a problem. The right too are massive hypocrites. The British right love state handouts, can crush press freedoms and sell out to foreign countries and have corruption issues. They also mess up over women and kids etc.

However personally I don't expect perfection. It just would be nice if all the political parties could agree that women and men exist so we can go back to discussing economics, climate change, the threat of warfare, and looking after families etc.

Then all parties can actually hold each other to account properly.

Meanwhile ZP is busy like Farage he is happiest when he is campaigning

We can win here’: Zack Polanski presses the flesh in Holborn and St Pancras
Polanski is confident of taking seat vacated by Keir Starmer, but says he will stay on as Green party leader even if he loses

Polanski joined volunteers in King’s Cross over the weekend to speak to local voters. It was his fourth visit to the constituency in a week. Should he win, Polanski says he will not move to the area but cycle from his flat in Hackney. “I can cycle to constituency really quickly. In fact, the length of the constituency is just as fast for me to cycle,” he says. “I’d regularly be here, doing surgeries and representing people.”
