Just pointing this out, separate from any threads it may have been mentioned on, so people not involved on those threads can be aware.

Does anyone know where/when it will be published?

FUCK

And I cannot say this enough

YOU

MrsOvertonsWindow · 14/04/2026 11:41

Since when has making single sex provision err.... single sex...been such a state secret? Unless of course the men in the background are as usual being threatening?

This post addressed to Labour, fwiw.

I'd say 'shit or get off the pot' but it appears they have actually created a pot entirely made out of shit.

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 11:47

'...as we are currently in the pre-election period for the devolved administrations, we are unable to make further announcements'

What utter, utter shite, Bridget.

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 11:48

Its always the pre election period in one sense isnt it? Sort of permanent.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 14/04/2026 11:49

Oh FFS. Just more kicking the can down the road. 🙄

rebax · 14/04/2026 11:50

Not by accident...

Delay the government's comments for long enough so that the final EHRC draft cannot arrive before purdah, to delay it even further.

BlueAntelope · 14/04/2026 11:50

If the guidance has materially changed, how is this not political interference with an independent body?

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 11:50

I feel like I'm stuck in the most boring game of edgeplay imaginable.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 14/04/2026 11:52

"lol we can't say anything until after may cos reasons - please vote for us tho"

FinnoualaSpork · 14/04/2026 11:52

If this has to be delayed because of pre-elections, doesn’t that apply to everything else?

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 11:53

I may have to delay my vote until after the elections.

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 11:54

Has anyone seen those irritating videos where people show you the back of a painting and slooooooowly turn it round, only to cut away at the last minute?

Boiledbeetle · 14/04/2026 11:54

Forresty · 14/04/2026 11:36

Ha ha ha. They are kicking down the road until after the May elections:

However, we are taking urgent action to meet our intention of laying the Code in May and as soon as practicable after the election period, for Parliamentary scrutiny.

What a massive surprise!! 🙄

At this point is anyone shocked?

Anyone?

<looks around>

no one!

I'm glad somebody is in motion at least!

Labour have taken off the training wheels , and keeled over.

Helleofabore · 14/04/2026 11:57

So, when is it that Philipson is meeting FWS?

Will we know by then what the changes are?

I've just checked FWS twitter and I can't see anything on the meeting apart from the fact she's agreed to meet.

We will never know what the changes are. As nobody has seen the first CoP.

So, various things can/will happen with the Code of Practice in May re its laying before Parliament:

  • Phillipson loses her seat - not her problem any more

  • Phillipson retains her seat, but is reshuffled to a different role - not her problem any more

  • Phillipson retains her seat, is not reshuffled - now it's still her problem

  • Phillipson retains her seat, gets involved in (another) leadership bid - kicks problem down the road again

It's all so cynical 🙄

Is this 'agreeing to meet' using words in the same way as BP and her ilk use the word 'woman' and 'single sex spaces' i.e. not in accordance with the English language used by the rest of the entire world or the dictionary.

I hope they don't get there to find that BP has unilaterally redefined 'agreeing to meet' to mean being dicked around for hours.

Indeed. Let's see what actually happens.

I would hope/assume that the reason Scottish Labour announced their manifesto with a commitment to sex based on biology was that they'd seen the guidance or been briefed that this was the direction Labour was committing to.

It's a bit weird/suspicious though that they have not released the guidance for potential voters to see in advance of the campaigning period. They could easily have done that. It's that whole words not deeds thing again.

murasaki · 14/04/2026 12:26

Forresty · 14/04/2026 12:19

Indeed. Let's see what actually happens.

I'm getting Catch 22 vibes, as in when people were only allowed to go into Major Major's office when he wasn't there.

She'll be jumping out of the window when they knock on the door.

womendeserveequalhumanrights · 14/04/2026 12:30

And we definitely need to see deeds when the meaning of words has been so incredibly mangled for such a long time, in an offensive and gaslighting way for women.

NUFC69 · 14/04/2026 12:48

I was under the impression that she was meeting with FWS on Wednesday, but who knows.....
