Just pointing this out, separate from any threads it may have been mentioned on, so people not involved on those threads can be aware.

Does anyone know where/when it will be published?

Somebody Mohammed up now. I think Labour? Issue has been weaponised. Confusion that we are debating what a woman is in 2026.

Looks like Iqbal Mohamed, Independent MP.

I like what he is saying, but I do get tired of the "kind caveat" so many of these men feel the need to start their statements with

GreyskySexRealistsky · 14/04/2026 15:09

IM says govt has been dilly dallying and sitting on its arse sitting on the ruling for too long

IdaGlossop · 14/04/2026 15:09

I hold myself fully responsible for this development 😁 Yesterday afternoon, I wrote to Antonia Romeo, first female head of the civil service (irony) and known trans advocate, saying that her objective of having a civil service that was judged on delivery was bring imperilled by the drift on this issue, which has an impact on the safety of half the population. I ended by suggesting that the very least that could be done is to confirm publicly a date by which the ECHR guidance will be published. And what's happened today....?

Seriously, though, Labour's stance on this has already damaged it and will lose it lots of votes. All we have learnt today is that the draft guidance has been tinkered with and that the revised draft will be laid before Parliament next month.

Women's rights have been less and diminished for centuries. Healthcare, maternity, pay gap, etc.

Here we are questioning the fundamental biology of women.

SC was clear. We expected gaslighting and aggression to recede. But here we are a year later... govt is dilly dallying

Reaffirm the principle - judgments of our highest court must be respected and implemented.

He's on our "side" but he's definitely covering his arse with his constituents

Editing my post to say actually I'm not convinced he is on our "side" after all

TRA MP jumps up to try and score points on terminology

terminology is basically all they've got, so no surprise really

Mohammed says no trans people in his constituency have come to him with any concerns about accessing women's spaces

Bloody hell he's rattling on

Make your point man

How does this compare to other debates on the issue? The small amount I've been able to see it looks much grander and better attended than previous iterations (I'm thinking back to Layla Moran and her soul seeing eyes). The needle really has moved massively!

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 15:13

Mohamed - Still protections for trans people - TRAHR where they are not impinging on other people's rights

TheNoWord · 14/04/2026 15:13

Darlington nurse Bethany and Maria Kelly there too!

Cantunseeit · 14/04/2026 15:13

Going back to The Times article shared up thread I wonder if the “changes” are just an attempt to save face by BP by justifying the delay by suggesting changes were needed (my bold). Presumably she’s run out of options?

““The UK government recently provided us with a narrow set of comments on the draft code of practice we submitted in September. …”

In Westminstrr Hall? I'd say many are conspicuous by their absence. Whither all the TRAs?

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 15:16

Lady in green again. Important that clinicians in NHS know the sex of patients.listing instances where sex matters re blood results etc

Raquelos · 14/04/2026 15:16

Her interventions have all been excellent

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 15:16

Lady in Green is fab. Thanks to her.

There have been better attended WH debates, but sadly the Trans demands arguments have remained the same over the last few years; incoherent and simply wrong.

Never seen such an illustrious public audience though 😍

Maybe news has travelled upwards from local canvassers that actually this is being discussed on the doorstep. And they're in hiding to protect the Council votes.

Or they don't have the courage of their convictions and know they'll look stupid.

I vote the second.

That’s Dr Caroline Johnson, paediatrician and Conservative MP.

MissGendering · 14/04/2026 15:20
