Je pense c’est parce que beaucoup des personnes de nos age studied le francais a l’ecole. Moins studied l’allemand, peut-être en raison des évents 20 ans earlier.

Je suis etudié le française, puis le latine, puis le russe dans l'école.

Maintenant, tous les enfants ici en Fife étude le espagnole parce que ils parents aiment beaucoup voyager au Mallorca où à la Lanzarote. (Les parents avec beaucoup d'argent voyager au Florida pour la repaste avec les portions grande et pour naiger avec les dolphines: donc, leur enfants ėcrites en "Ce que je faisait en vacances".)

Quand courrent-nous en France?

At my ordinary state grammar school in the 60s we began:
(translating to current school year numbering)

French in y7
German in y8 (top set only at my school, lower sets started Latin)
Latin in y9 (so everyone did French and Latin in y9)
Russian in y10 (optional, for O level)

I did French, German and Russian for O level. I could also have done Latin, but I chose Physics instead.
That was in a grammar school, but I know at least some secondary moderns offered French.

Nowadays Spanish seems to be the most popular option, and I think many students in state comprehensives do only one foreign language. I don’t know what happens in grammar schools as there aren’t any locally.
