Hannah Spencer harassed in Manchester

Despite the fact that certain very vocal sections of this board are aggressively anti-trans and anti-Green, I'd gently suggest that this kind of confrontation and abuse is unacceptable in any civilised society, regardless of personal ideologies.

Perhaps the saddest irony here is that these male bigots claim to be protecting women's rights whilst trying to attack a woman MP. On International Women's Day.

I'd be curious to see how other MNetters feel about this situation...

Green Party say 'Hannah Spencer won't be silenced' after Manchester violence

Look, can someone clear something up for me? Not least the OP.

OP, are you the poster that used to post as @MissScarletintheBallroom ?

Because I found her posts to be well considered and well researched. If you are, what happened?

No, I wondered the same, but it’s a different poster. IIRC, @MissScarletintheBallroom was an A&E doc hence the informed views on medical aspects of PBs, CSHs, surgery etc.

Thanks for clearing that up.
I recall her posts were detailed, well evidenced, balanced and interesting.

I wondered this too - thanks for raising this.

OP, of course women shouldn't face violence for their views on TIMs. I'm glad you agree.

ShesGotIt · 09/03/2026 09:40

Have to laugh at the irony of OP's dismay that such an affray should happen on International Women's Day, of all days (clutches pearls), when they couldn't even tell you what a woman is, other than the usual circular argument no doubt that a woman is a person who identifies as a woman.

I shouldn't think anyone here would suggest that such confrontations are acceptable. Why might you think they would?

Most people here are not 'anti - trans' as you put it. What they are is critical of the whole concept of 'gender identity' and the negative impact it has on women and children, especially. I personally reject your entire framing of the issue and of this disagreement.

Many people here actually used to belong to the Labour party and/or Green party - so they are not so much as 'anti Green', as critical of extreme Left populism and rigid ideology. The Greens have been hijacked by identitarian populists and many from the fringes of the Labour party - and Zack Polanski is a shape -shifting actor who resists scrutiny and aims to appeal to the most extreme elements on the Left.

Both of these parties now no longer see representation as their main role; rather one of imposing utopian ( that often actually looks quite dystopian) ideology onto the electorate. I think Hannah spencer seems a decent enough person, but also very naive.

Totalitiarianism and ideological zealotry is on the rise on both the right and the Left. Many of us here identify ourselves with neither. We shook free of such identifications due to the extremely authoritarian nature of trans ideology and the way it has taken over what is now termed the 'progressive' politics that many of us used to identify ourselves with.

Your post is clearly designed to provoke, as well as being very patronising. Who is you imagine you are addressing here?

Greyskybluesky · 09/03/2026 09:43

Well said @Shortshriftandlethal

Brefugee · 09/03/2026 09:52

also can i state for the record:

I voted ecology, then green in every election until about 2019 (latterly holding my nose) because they were nearest to my 2nd Wave Feminist Communist leanings.

I just vote communist now or as left as i can get.

I am not. This confusion was raised on another thread and corrected there; the other MissScarlet and I are two entirely separate people who simply chose a similar name when registering.

Clearly I missed it on the other thread so I asked it here for myself.

Thanks for clearing that up anyway. The difference was obvious for reasons I've detailed above. But always good to have things confirmed.

I thought the violence broke out when a MAN from Stand Up To Racism punched a woman in the face?

Yes. The Salford Unison Equalities Officer punched a female you tuber in the face. Supposed to be security for Stand Up to Racism. Just another lefty sexist bloke. Good break down of events in this video.

yeah - we don't have to read all the threads you know...

But can you clarify: we here are pro women's rights. Is that in conflict with what trans people want?

I missed the OP's other post which clarified the user name confusion. I did wonder because the posting styles are in sharp contrast to each other.
Almost seems like choosing such a similar name, which could easily cause confusion, is deliberate? Of all the varied options, why would you do this?
Possibly a male poster, waiting to fly to Spain? (weather not so good at the moment I gather)

@Hoardasurass post
she was not attacked she was confronted by billboard chris and her green party zealots attacked billboard Chris and his team and it was the green supporters who were having to be dealt with by the police not billboard Chris and his lot.

Oh dear @MissScarletInTheBedroom . Can I "gently" tell you that it's not healthy to lie? Get some therapy dear to find out why you do.

Hint: lying is based on avoiding reality.

An utterly nonsensical post. My name has nothing to do with being sexual unless you are duplicitous enough to claim that without checking in order to justify an attack against a poster because you don't like what they are saying.
To be fair, on that behaviour you are in good company here... 🙄

But the "Málaga airport" bit does genuinely confuse me. What is this supposed to mean?

Myalternate · 09/03/2026 10:46

Just watched the video that shows Ameen Hadi (Unison rep) punch a woman. The police just ignored her when she told them she’d been punched.

Watched another video with the matrix (?) guy and it clearly shows that the ‘men-in-dresses’ are very aggressive as are their supporters. Not in the least surprised tbh.

Nasty, nasty people.

"But can you clarify: we here are pro women's rights. Is that in conflict with what trans people want?"

We are all pro-women's rights. That really should be obvious to you by now.

Is that in conflict with what trans people want? That depends. What is it you think trans people want?

OP posts:
MrsOvertonsWindow · 09/03/2026 10:47

All I saw was men. A man challenging a woman MP and then a range of aggressive / violent men punching and harassing women and men.

The OP seems unaware that this is the experience of women. That if we attempt to meet and speak without male permission all these aggressive thugs congregate to try to silence us. Unlike the Matrix man in the link, they never ask questions. They roar, threaten and issue threats of sexual and physical violence at women (just as some of the men did in these links).

Maybe if the OP spends more time on here listening to women instead of posting ill advised threads that prove the opposite of what they claim, they'll understand how prevalent VAWG is from the trans loons?

RoyalCorgi · 09/03/2026 10:48

Another example of male aggression, providing further evidence of why we shouldn't allow men into women's spaces and services.

No, it is not obvious that you are pro-women's rights. At all.
Is that in conflict with what trans people want?
Are you for real?
