Welcome one and all. Quick précis - women's pub, rodent staff, apparently we're sane.

Physiotherapist says pain in the callous on my big toe is not mechanical but offered no solution. I will address it with my surgeon on Monday.

Physiotherapist also suggested walking in a swimming pool. Not sure about this as weekdays have lane swimming till 1540 then presumably the kids come in. Weekends is Swim For All - again for kids. And it's £6.50 a session, unless I want to spend £42+ a month when I get £1 off. So I would need to go 42 times a month for it to be cheaper.

DeanElderberry · 15/01/2026 12:59

Is there an aqua aerobics session? Or a physiotherapist anywhere near you specialising in aqua/hydro therapy?

lcakethereforeIam · 15/01/2026 13:15

If you lived near the coast would paddling work? Don't some doctors prescribe, literally issue a prescription, for exercise?

I'm trying to empty fella's in box. I must have deleted hundreds, if not over a thousand emails, and I'm only back to mid 2024. I'm just doing a few minutes at a time.

They keep respawning!!

That comma is doing a lot of heavy lifting, Cake, otherwise ithis would suggest that you have lots of fellas in a box😁

MarieDeGournay · 15/01/2026 13:36

Who needs AI? I googled 'men in a container box' and found lots of them for you, Cake😄

I dated a bloke once who had thousands of unread emails showing on his phone. You know the number on the mail app?

it gave me second hand anxiety.

In my local pool one lane tends to be occupied by older people doing physio-suggested exercises, so “lane swimming” might have space for that in yours, @MyrtleLion

I'll have to check it out. Not close to natural water that can be walked in.

I will see if there is a therapist who does hydrotherapy but I imagine it will be more than £6.50 an hour. Though if it's kid-free in a private pool, maybe it's worth it.

I found this link about the size of things. Capybaras are large and sleep a lot, so don't tell Clara and her crew - they get quite a lot done and don't have a lot of breaks.

That's a fun site thank you. I compared a coronavirus to duckweed-
I was intending to compare something else to a capybara, but I obviously clicked on the wrong item on the dropdown menu😄Lots of fun anyway.

I hope you find somewhere nice to do the walking on in water in peace!

I think the problem is more the space between 'in' & 'box'. I first thought fellas & then cat litter box.

Taztoy · 15/01/2026 18:02

FUUUCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK

that is all.

I should have put in a hyphen.

Are you okay @Taztoy? Bad haircut? Batshittery on another thread?

CheesemongersApprentice · 15/01/2026 18:16

Large G&T at the rush for Taztoy please bargerbil?

Magpiecomplex · 15/01/2026 18:52

Been to a trade show today. Knowing we have a number of tractor aficionados at the Bluey, I took some photos for you!

Clearly Valtra has cracked the problem of getting more women into the industry. If only we'd known you could get pink tractors.

Do the gerbils drive tractors?

I’m doing Norwegian Duolingo & tonight’s lesson involved a lot of cheese. It reminded me of the Bluestocking.

Taztoy · 15/01/2026 19:07

I love a wee Massey. Not sure about the big tractors at all.

when I go “home” and we go to visit my aunt and uncle, there’s a line of tractors on the Main Street

MarieDeGournay · 15/01/2026 19:21

Just popping in - nice to see you here Taz, you're amongst friends here, unlike other threads, so relax and enjoy the huuuuge G&T a bargerbil has just brought youSmile
And some pictures of tractors, thanks to Magpie - G&T, tractors - what more could anyone ask for?Grin

lcakethereforeIam · 15/01/2026 19:28

That big grey thing! I'm wondering how long it'll be before I see one on the school run.

DeanElderberry · 15/01/2026 20:11

That's the size of thing that turns up in convoys once the forage harvest season starts (any time May to September depending on weather) on narrow back roads, driven by teenagers.

Bloody hell, that Fendt combine!
Our local farmers mostly go for Claas or John Deere. Fendt's have a rep in these parts for exploding gearboxes.

Our local Valtra has been out ditching with its friend, the JCB digger.

My kind of trade show. I know a shocking number of men who dress like the ones in the photos.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/01/2026 20:20

I know very little about tractors. I’ve just left a world where the size comparisons didn’t really start from particularly small.😆

I got stuck behind a hay tedder last summer, on a very narrow lane, with an inordinate amount of oncoming traffic.
I backed up 20 yards, turned around in a driveway, took even smaller lanes and was only about 2 mins late.

So far as I can tell, farm boys start driving quads etc as soon as they're out of nappies, progress to old pick-ups on farm tracks as soon as they can reach the pedals, and the second they hit 16, they're up on the Massey/ Claas/ John Deere and hauling grain all through harvest.

EdithStourton · 15/01/2026 20:24

PS Maggers, thanks for the pics.
