Helen Webberley v Robbie Starbuck . . . WOW!! 😂

I have watched all the recent Webberley interviews . . . this one is a doozy!!

Robby Starbuck Vs. Pro Trans Doctor: Debate On Child Transitions!

Robbie Starbuck cool as a cucumber and totally unfazed by Webberley's almost continuous unhinged ranting 😂🤣

In previous interviews I thought that she was feigning ignorance. I am not so sure now. Otherwise, she has really jumped the shark by claiming never to have heard of Marci Bowers, at the same time banging on about WPATH as the fount of all knowledge!

"No amount of edited promos will disguise the fact that I wiped the floor with you & your terrible, harmful views @robbystarbuck
This isn’t an easy discussion. It’s about real people. Perhaps next time you can do better by being prepared and being ready to listen. Shoo 💋"

She mentioned, quite a few times, about his platform and millions of viewers. (I can't find verifiable numbers, but presumably that's her belief).

That's why she's rattled. This was the big one.

And his reply

I know you like to believe people can identify as whatever they want but identifying as someone who won the debate is bold even for you Helen. 99% of the viewers so far think you came off nuttier than squirrel 💩. Also we released the entire interview. Nothing was cut from it. 😂*”

So one percent supported her? If it's 2m viewers, that's 20,000 people.

Ker-ching.

Which is why she's just doubling down.

I mean it is extraordinary that she's willing to sacrifice her credibility and reputation, and look dangerous and mad as a March hare for the sake of profit. But let's face it, it's not unique.

Greyskybluesky · 25/11/2025 12:25

Perhaps next time you can do better by being prepared and being ready to listen.

He was supremely prepared with allllll the arguments. He listened a lot, whereas she constantly cut him off and talked over him.

It's like an alternative reality (funny, that). No way can she really believe she wiped the floor with him!

I've only watched clips for the sake of my blood pressure/sanity but the guy asks her about reduced sexual function when the children grow up. Her answer was "Why are we talking about orgasms in kids?!"

That wasn't the point, you absolute loon, and she's just trying to deflect by suggesting he was inappropriately sexualising children. These videos/interviews would be funny if what she's doing wasn't so horrific.

I find her a very hard watch, and often have to pause interviews with people like HW and come back to them. In this interview Starbuck did such an incredible job that I honestly didn't get wound up at all.

RachelFanshawe · 25/11/2025 12:35

Oh that was beautiful. She came across TERRIBLY 😁

Gloating apart, I have never loathed anyone more.

Memoryhole · 25/11/2025 12:48

what was particularly egregious was her wilful misunderstanding of the blocking sexual function issue. And I say wilfully because as a trained doctor she cannot be that stupid for it not to be deliberate.

The sexual risk from some trans women is there because they have functioning penises. Because the adults transitioning have had the correct puberty and so retain their fertility and ability to orgasm can be a risk to women and children just like any other man. God knows, they talk enough about their ‘euphoria boners’

it is the children, given puberty blockers at Tanner stage 2 who are left anorgasmic and infertile. And she wilfully conflates the two.

and what was that crap about ‘poor trans people not getting any power to make laws’? admiral Levine anyone? Who, having been fertile and abide to have orgasms himself pushed to have all age limits withdrawn for all

Lemonysnickety · 25/11/2025 12:53

Honestly she is the absolute best example of project “let them speak” I have seen for a while. Keep up the good work HW the GC side is so lucky to have you on board.

thecalmsea · 25/11/2025 09:50

I play poker (at regional level so a lot and with many different people) and her tells when lying are SO OBVIOUS on this one (looking up and away for example, but others repeated as well) - much more so than on the previous three where she obfuscatred with bravado and sneering (a common poker strategy as well). This one was really important to her and also really rattled her.

Yes, lots of leakage in her body language from all the interviews. She has no faith in what she's saying imo.

deadpan · 25/11/2025 13:42

thecalmsea · 25/11/2025 10:07

Have you seen her response to him?

"No amount of edited promos will disguise the fact that I wiped the floor with you & your terrible, harmful views @robbystarbuck

Properly lost it now. You can really see how much she relies on '' I know you are but what am I?' playground level debating tactics. And is she really retorting with the old 'do better'? SO last year, before the worm firmly turned.

I'm actually astounded that she is exposing herself in this way. Shows the arrogance I suppose.

That's exactly the level of her argument!
She cites all these patients she had but as soon as anyone else does she discounts them as fictitious.
She's quite clearly not used to justifying and explaining to people who aren't of the same mind as her, because as others have said she went into this one with an attitude. Maybe she actually thought the other interviews would have brought us all round by now and she's annoyed that it hasn't .

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 25/11/2025 13:59

I can't bring myself to watch any of the interviews at the moment, so thank you to those who've done it so others don't have to. From what I've read and the stills online she comes across as dangerous and hopefully that will put people off.

Is the US really going to let her set up shop there?

I think her biggest problem is that even people who are 'of the same mind as her' are beginning to realise that she is a GP with no specialist training and she has no intention of properly assessing or monitoring the people to whom she sells drugs.

lifeturnsonadime · 25/11/2025 09:26

Well that was a watch and a half.

Why does she keep telling him he's handsome half way through?

She's totally unhinged.

Yes! The bit where she smirked while implying that Robbie would be a big hit in a gay club was really weird and made no sense in terms of the discussion too 🤯

SophieStrawHat · 25/11/2025 15:12

BettyFilous · 25/11/2025 08:11

I’m only a few minutes in and Webberley has already given the game away by talking about “US customers”. Not patients. Customers.

Yes, that jumped out at me too.

I think she was attempting to bait him into a homophobic rant. And failed. I think that her PR people probably told her to paint him as homophobic due to his Christian beliefs….no idea if he is or not. Either way her attempt at diverting him failed.

ParmaVioletTea · 25/11/2025 15:15

After watching her discuss with Helen Joyce, and then Julie Bindel, I could only watch a few minutes before I thought I have better things to do with my life. Webberley is actually just thick.

And so so complacent & moralistic. The way she tries to scold Dr Joyce and Ms Bindel by constantly correcting them, and getting it wrong.

And getting the Supreme Court judgement wrong.

And trying to complicate the Equality Act.

Argh, she's insufferable. How Julie and Helen J. stay calm in the face of such stupidity is beyond me. Helen Webberley can't argue. She doesn't know how to work with ideas or understand concepts.

Thanks for the explanation because I just could not make sense of how unpleasant her demeanour was when she was saying that to him. I think he handled it well by thanking her as if she had complimented him.

SophieStrawHat · 25/11/2025 15:12

Yes, that jumped out at me too.

Me three. It's the point at which I decided to get a life and stop watching her.

obviously I can’t know that was her reason but I think it is quite likely.

She has obviously been briefed on him at best attack her opponents.

JB was an attempt at painting her as a ‘man hater’
HJ was ‘Just a statistician and I’m a doctor’

i think this time it was ‘vile Christian homophobe’

in all cases it was going for the man and not the ball.

RareGoalsVerge · 25/11/2025 15:31

Shortshriftandlethal · 25/11/2025 09:06

Her whole life and public persona has been built on this blind faith and she simply will not contenance any questioning of it. And in order to preserve this blind faith she is able to contort and wilfully distort her thinking processes in order to bring them back into line with this blind faith.

She's completely on the edge and so incredibly susceptible to total collapse. She can only keep going through manic possession.

Of course. If she were to ever see reason and logic she would have to acknowledge the enormous harms she has done. It would destroy her. She has to believe.

I think the solution to all this is to have the two sides of this debate officially recognised and understood as religions and given the same status and respect as all other religions - that you are free to believe it, free to practice in accordance with your beliefs and even to proselytise to convert people to your Way, but that in a pluralistic society you must acknowledge the freedom of other people to not believe the same as you. Private businesses would be free to affiliate themselves with one religion or another and be free to offer their services in accordance with their beliefs. Public taxpayer-funded services would have an obligation to show no bias and provide facilities that allow equity of access to all people regardless of their beliefs. The intractibility of the problem is that two sides both consider that their mindset isn't a belief but is plain facts. They can't both be right and even though we know that we are right there has to be a space in the world for other people to believe otherwise (obviously with safeguards in place to prevent children from being harmed by the practice of their parents beliefs, as with any religion)

NebulousSadTimes · 25/11/2025 15:40

It's like an alternative reality (funny, that). No way can she really believe she wiped the floor with him!

It's yet another case of accusations being admissions. She knows fine.

She knows most folk know but she has to keep up the grift so the hopefully few who are desperate enough will pay her for what they shouldn't be prescribed.

Nincompoo · 25/11/2025 16:01

I wouldn’t be surprised if the trans folk detransition just to cease any association with her, she comes across like someone who should be institutionalised for being a danger to humanity.

borntobequiet · 25/11/2025 16:38

We all know that HW’s claim that the brain doesn’t change after birth is nonsense. But this new study (as reported by, erm, the BBC) emphasises the huge changes that occur from the beginning of puberty.

Lottapianos · 25/11/2025 16:44

Good grief, that was quite something! She came across as an absolute loon without a leg to stand on. A far cry from the simpering and flirting with Andrew Gold

I've never heard of Robby Starbuck but he was calm, polite, unflappable and had seriously done his homework. He listened to her and gave her plenty of time to answer each question. I did laugh out loud at the end when he calmly told her what she was doing was evil and barbaric and akin to child sacrifice, and that he would pray for her! 😁 I bet that just about blew her top

What's her next stop - Triggernometry? 🤣

SinnerBoy · 25/11/2025 16:51

Soontobe60 · Today 08:18

I’ve tried to watch it but have had to give up. I got as far as ‘you can’t banish all females who have a penis from a female changing room…’

That's about as far as i got, too. She's utterly dishonest and comes across as very ill informed, not to mention having a screw loose.

RachelFanshawe · 25/11/2025 16:52

I really hope she goes on Triggernometry.

Konstantin Kisin would annihilate her.

Kucinghitam · 25/11/2025 16:57

If HW didn't exist, we on the reality-based side would have had to invent her. She's an absolute gift to us.
