I'll be charitable & suggest she might have left her meds in her coat pocket. As I'm being so bafflingly charitable, I'll also point out that any pain or urgency may have been digestive. More than half of fibro patients have co-ocurring IBS or symptoms very like IBS & such things can come on of a sudden. In that case, it would be less humiliating to reference the fibro' alone than to mention specifics & leave people wondering if one may have rushed out to avoid soiling oneself, or simply to have the privacy a really roaring fart requires.
This is of course, not a diagnosis, merely another speculative point to bear in mind.

But but but, she'd also carry spare tablets in the little zip pocket in the handbag she had with her.

I mean I would.

Did anyone see her rummaging around in her bag before she left the room?

But yes the urge to go to the loo due to bowel issues is a possibility.

I might start using the euphemism 'I have a concern' at Christmas post sprouts....

do we know if there will be any expert witnesses and if so, who?

Professor Deborah Boyd. She's such a profressor she once held a PhD for a year.

She loves PRIDE and sometimes needs her medicine but runs in the opposite direction from it.

She will bring so much integrity and impartiality. I can't wait. Oh wait.

Micheal McKeown might be critical in sorting out this mess. If he has any brains and self-preservation he should be obtaining legal advice over the weekend.

He has the possibility and opportunity to come out of this marginally better than the others if he plays his cards right.

Ok thats a lot of info! Someone knows their onions (or NI networked folks).

I am not hearing here any concerns over bias (am I?). Which is good actually for justice.

AnnoyingAlarm · 15/11/2025 21:30

Who makes the new thread?

Where are the senior girls this evening? Prefects? School council?

We need you!

I would if I was in his position.

Whatever happens on Monday though I don't see any of this quieting down even once Sara's case is done.

Especially if it turns out the 'Professor' is not a Professor. That could open up every panel members history to bring scrutinised.

So please say more on all of this?

If people are literally BFF with BFF people (see what I did there) then they do have a clear bias that needs to be disclosed. I mean gay and in the arts in Belfast. That is Michelle's venn diagram.

Maybe there is a reason she is smiling between sessions but totally hostile to Naomi. It doesn't matter what she says in the room - she knows the votes are in the bag??

I think @SexRealistic is using @MyrtleLion info from earlier.

I know It's not me. I am usually very busy polishing the roof when a new thread is needed. I break out in a cold sweat starting a thread!

Namechanged999999 · 15/11/2025 21:35

Open them all up to scrutiny..

You do wear a senior girl tie though....

KittyWilkinson · 15/11/2025 21:36

@Akela64 I think Laurence McKeown still lives in Dundalk. He did yonks ago when I had encounters with him, and according to Companies House still has an address there. Although it could be a business address.
Otherwise, I agree with your excellent post.

Plus think about how casual she was in her responses. Who, in their right mind, cracks a joke in the middle of giving evidence.

But yes the urge to go to the loo due to bowel issues is a possibility.

So to be clear her meds were in her bag.

She left the room in a rush.

Then sometime later - and total speculation here of course - it occured to her that if you want a covered up excuse that you are in pain and you need medication - well it serves to actually have the meds.

So the clerk was sent back to get her bag. We all rose when he came out, but he was on his own, got the bag and went back to chambers.

Why did she need her bag in this very urgent break otherwise?

And yet, assuming this is the same 'D. Boyd' as on the list of panel members of tribunals in 2009-10 which @SionnachRuadh posted late last night, she was 'Prof' in 2010!

Ooh, excellent detecting

And one can only assume that SD's need to defend the panel comes from some sort of need to keep them sweet/on side/in the hearing

I'm familiar with the area and how interconnected communities are there. All the info is publically available and Google is a friend.

It could be that the lay members are saints, but in the justice system appearances matter.

SexRealistic · 15/11/2025 21:41

Now I know you hoardes of TERFs are trained..... but wait until this is full before jumping onto the new thread.

I've attempted to put placeholders and then am back filling relevant info but its not going so well.

How the heck do @nauticant and @MyrtleLion and all the other fabulous people of MN make it look so effortless.

I also feel like we need our local fifer on Nick's commentary come Monday. Maybe wee Billy has a few things tae say about matters? I can see @MarieDeGournay come and impart her local knowledge.

You do wear a senior girl tie though....

I stole it.

Actually if you look closely it's made up of Tunnock's Caramel Wafer wrappers (I knew I'd find a use for them)

Maybe LM has UK business interests registered in Newry and lives in Dundalk? The border is pretty porous in those parts.

AnnoyingAlarm · 15/11/2025 21:47

I wonder if DB has any knowledge of the turn things have taken?

Or is she kicking back with a glass of wine glad to have next week unexpectedly off?

Do you think she has used the dr and professor titles for so long that she's actually forgotten the ins and outs and just habituated the practice?

I guess if she first got a sign and was addressed in that way when there was some truth in it (if there ever was) it then gets progressively more difficult to say, " can I have a more boring less special sign please' as the years move on?

And if you spot something like the website @SexRealistic screenshot and someone has mistakenly called you Dr and you don't correct it and then....

I was raised Catholic and feel guilty about almost everything I think do and say so I can't put myself in those shoes but I can see that it would get harder not easier to sort. Especially in a small linked community.
