No arrests so far...

Julie Bindel (@bindelj) on X

Look at them - police don't seem to arrest these men - too busy locking people up for misgendering:

So men are angry that women don't want them in their private spaces, so are violent towards women in public, where women can easily get away, and where there are police who will intervene to protect the women (one would hope).

It's not really making a brilliant argument for allowing these men in spaces where no-one can see what they're doing to women is it?

Trans Pride Brighton said it was not involved, but would not denounce the vandalism, adding: “We are deeply concerned about a possible retaliatory attack on the Trans Pride Centre and community safety remains our priority.

Are they worried about retaliation from Bash Back if they denounce the vandalism?

Always the ‘both sides’ bloody comment. If there were any retaliatory violence it would not come from women but from violent males on the far right. Male violence does lead to more male violence. Yet always women’s fault. Odd that.

Remember to take ACTION. Its great to vent about this on Mumsnet. The next step is to fight back using our voices.

This trans terror has been going on for too long and the Police and authorities do nothing. Too many women have been attacked.
FIRST
Write your MP to ask them to condemn the attempt to close down a women's conference of 2000 feminists discussing women's issues. It has caused an estimated 50k in property damage to council property when budgets are in crisis. Also call out Sian Berry's endorsement of violence and attack on the freedom of speech and ask for action against this group. The Secretary of State of Health Wes Streeting has the correct approach see his response to the attack.

Wes Streeting
This kind of violent direct action is disgraceful. It is designed to intimidate people - in this case women - into silence and it must not be allowed to happen with impunity.
Remember Bash Back vandalised his office;
Wes Streeting’s east London office vandalised by trans protest group
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/wes-streeting-office-vandalism-trans-activists-b1241166.html

Sex Matters has a list of over fifty incidents of Trans activists threatening attacking, and silencing women in the UK. Make sure to link to this
https://sex-matters.org/about-us/what-we-are-up-against/intimidation-threats-and-violence-by-trans-rights-activists/
With the Supreme Court ruling it is time to stop the violence and censorship once and for all. The law is clear women are real. Violence is not going to change that.

Second
Also report Sian Berry to the Green Party for breaking their Code of Conduct;
Complaints Procedure
What to do if you feel that something in the Green Party has gone wrong
https://greenparty.org.uk/members/complaints-procedure/
Code of Conduct
https://greenparty.org.uk/members/code-of-conduct/
The Green Party’s approach to ethical conduct is guided by its philosophical basis and core values, which include a commitment to freedom of self -expression and the non-violent resolution of conflict.
Philosophical Basis para 401
‘The Green Party affirms the importance of individual freedom and self-expression. We believe people should be free to make their own decisions on matters which do not adversely affect others. Its importance lies in valuing the opportunity people have to make their own decisions, accept responsibility for them and develop in their own way.’
Green Party Core Value 8.
‘We look for non-violent solutions to conflict situations, which take into account the interests of minorities and future generations in order to achieve lasting settlements.’ These perspectives inform the following standards for conduct.

Almost certainly the Green Party will let her off, but we need to show up their hypocrisy when they are expelling members for saying biology is a thing.

Third
Write to the media and press ask for more coverage of this and other incidents. The TAs were trying to block entrance to conference police had to act to move them on. Flood the airwaves and press. When Polanski is on the TV lets get him asked about this. He has condemned the banning of Palestine Action what about the attempt to ban Filia?

Four
If you are in the area ask Brighton Council to condemn the attack which has caused an estimated 50k in property damage to council property and to stand up for freedom of speech against violent bigots.

Complaints Procedure - Green Party

What to do if you feel that something in the Green Party has gone wrong In the first instance it is better for a complaint to be dealt with informally by discussing the issue which you have with the individual concerned and to see whether it may be res...

I’ve emailed my MP asking her to publicly condemn SB’s tweet.

Will put in a complaint to the Green Party too.

JamieCannister · 11/10/2025 10:55

akkakk · 10/10/2025 11:14

I would disagree.
Anything that uses violence as a physical and or psychological threat to make someone do / not do things at the behest of the perpetrator and is movement organised, is terrorism

The minute it is redefined it becomes too easy to then see it as okay - just a valid form of expression. Nope - it is terrorism.

I have to disagree.

Most people will recognize that the IRA in the 80s were despicable extremely violent terrorists. I think most will also perceive smashing windows at a feminist even is more akin to peaceful protest than it is to planting bombs with the intention of wiping out the entire government and many others.

I think it is vital to be clear that those "protestors" are a type of terrorist (they use violence to create terror and try to acheive political aims) but that they are not (yet) at the level planting bombs and trying to wipe out governments or innocent people.

lcakethereforeIam · 11/10/2025 10:59

Unlike sex, acts of terror are on a spectrum. Isn't that why Prevent was devised? To try to nip in the bud, stop radicalisation and escalation?

StrongLikeMamma · 11/10/2025 11:03

And yet they arrest glinner for a tweet?! Wtaf.

abitnervousohbugger · 11/10/2025 11:13

@fromorbit thanks for this list. I am local (although Peter Kyle my MP) and will follow your list. I drove past the Brighton Centre this morning on my way somewhere and saw all the police and activists. How is it possible so many police are needed at a feminist conference? It’s madness.

RayneBowTrout · 11/10/2025 12:02

@abitnervousohbugger Yes well laid out by @fromorbit and I too will be using these points to write to Peter Kyle.

These blokes need jail time,

In a male jail.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/10/2025 12:18

Where's Tandora when you need her?

FBHN112 · 11/10/2025 12:19

I wonder what my ultra- woke, "trans and everyone else has a voice apart from JK Rowlng", "men make me feel unsafe late at night unless they are wearing lippy and a dress" daughter and her friends who live there think about it all?

Fascinating turn of events.

Edit - I won't be asking her as it usually ends up in a row 😂

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/10/2025 12:20

............that some trans, non-binary and intersex residents might have felt "anxiety and stress"............

Good grief, I bet the people with DSDs who live in Brighton are annoyed at being lumped in with the trans and non-binary population.

There can't be very many of them.

It adds to the ongoing proof it isn't anger about women not wanting them, it's anger that women are successfully escaping control and punishment. They don't want women to want them, they want submission. How many times have you heard the revolving sexual violent threat 'if you don't like it you can suck my (lady) dick'? Do any decent men you know talk and behave like that? No women, decent or otherwise, do.

The smashing up of stuff, the indulgence of stupid officials, it's all rooted in a belief that women wanting rights and talking about rights that limit the absolute freedoms of men to use them - are bad women who deserve to be punished. It's rooted in a belief that women are resources for men, not equal humans.

The looking the other way constantly as men punish women despite those women having rights at least on paper in law - it's tacit agreement with those men. It's handing them the hammers.

Oh dear. Brighton is a big place now mind. London on Sea. Still majority straight , albeit a big gay minority. Lots of whom want to lose the T I bet. Infradig if they say so. But they can still vote.....or abstain.

Do the men who carried this out have any knowledge of Kristallnacht, I wonder? When the Nazi leadership, in 1938, organised a nationwide anti-Jewish riot that was supposed to look like an unplanned outburst of anger against the Jews, but was actually state-planned terror. Kristallnacht translates as “night of the broken glass”. It’s not a good optic for the “most-oppressed”, who are supposedly living in fear of leaving their homes, is it?

Kristallnacht | Holocaust Encyclopedia

On November 9–10, 1938, the Nazi regime coordinated an antisemitic riot, called Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, or the November pogrom. Learn more.

Also, Sian “Aunt Lydia” Berry is an absolute fucking disgrace and needs sacking. I’m so sorry that she’s your local MP, @SingleSexSpacesInSchools but good on you for being a thorn in her side 💪🏻

MassiveWordSalad · 11/10/2025 13:01

Furthermore, it would be great if any of our regular trans activist posters would like to venture their opinions on this.

I think they're all on the AIBU thread posting twisty, turny, whataboutery, weasel-wordy tone-policing "look a squirrel!" "nothing to see here!" "if it's not the worst thing in human history, it's not worth talking about" "stop wasting internet pixels" stuff.

With all the antisemitism displayed by speakers the Kristallnacht is more likely to happen inside the conference.

Since when have womens' single sex rights (and rights for lesbians not to fancy male bodied people) equated to anti-semitism?

What a weird thing to say.

MassiveWordSalad · 11/10/2025 15:11

Is there a thread about this in AIBU?

There's been several speakers leading the crowd in antisemitic 'river to the sea' chants and they're also selling keffiyehs inside the hall.

Many of the female Jewish attendees have left in dispair.
