No arrests so far...

Julie Bindel (@bindelj) on X

Look at them - police don't seem to arrest these men - too busy locking people up for misgendering:

All masked up as usual.

Cowards.

rriffraff · 10/10/2025 10:35

It's terrorism and it shoud be treated like that.
We should start naming it.

Greyskybluesky · 10/10/2025 10:35

I'm actually quite impressed by the Centre's statement (my bold):

The Brighton Centre issued a statement prior to the start of the conference.
A spokesman for the venue said: "We understand the anxiety and stress that many of our trans, non-binary and intersex residents are feeling at this time.
"As a city, venue and a council, we will continue to strive towards our unwavering commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
"The Brighton Centre has a long history of hosting events that represent a diverse mix of communities and perspectives.
"Individual events represent a wide cross-section of opinions that should not be attributed to those of the attendees, audience or venue staff but are reflective of a democratic society.
"It is not our intention to create division but to host a range of conferences, that meets the needs of all people in the area.
"As a conference venue we seek to provide a neutral space for hire and always seek to ensure we do not show bias to any group or individual but that we protect the principles of freedom of speech, as long as all our booked events operate within the law and in line with our venue hire policy."

Fucking hell! I hadn't properly read the title and thought this was a zombie resurrection of the meeting in Brighton years ago.

GCman · 10/10/2025 10:37

Trantifa need to be proscribed as a terror group immediately, they are the biggest danger to women this country currently faces.

yetanotherusernameAgain · 10/10/2025 10:37

Angry men who don't like women saying 'no'.

SirBasil · 10/10/2025 10:38

They are unhinged.

Hope they’ve felt it right to put out a similar statement including women in that list now?

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 10/10/2025 10:39

There is a comment section, if anyone has the chance to show Brightonians it's not hatful for women to meet together....

The women meeting up didn't cause this to happen.
The violent individuals did this 'because' they chose to prioritise violence and destruction over doing literally anything else.

As always, men's reaction to feminism shows exactly why we need it.

Nitter link below to their boasting tweet (for those not on X). Not getting much support.

Greyskybluesky · 10/10/2025 10:42

I take your point @Hurumphh but I think it was a clever move to put that sentence at the beginning of the statement. It takes the wind out of their sails and means they feel 'seen' 🙄

The Centre then proceeds to state unequivocally that their space is for everyone.

SirBasil · 10/10/2025 10:42

Can this be reported as a threat? (Not in UK so I can't)

Heartening to read.

Also proves that this opposition to TRAs is not just on Mumsnet (as the accusers try to tell us). People are sick of it.

Alucard55 · 10/10/2025 10:46

Are these the poor "trans women" who are terrified to leave the house?

CompleteGinasaur · 10/10/2025 10:48

TFAF. (Trans Fascists Are Fascists).

You beat me to it.

EmpressaurusKitty · 10/10/2025 10:53

The psychos’ statement in the Argus includes that FiLiA is ‘tough on crime’ as if they think that’s a bad thing.

Pleasantsort · 10/10/2025 10:59

Men being violent when women say no. What a shock. Nasty, cowardly bullies.

I do think we need to acknowledge that there is something called (for want of a better expression) "second tier terrorism". Smashing windows to intimidate women who want to talk is terrorism in a literal sense, but on the other hand I think it's important to not get carried away. It is not the same as what the IRA did in Brighton in the 80s or what ISIS do.

lcakethereforeIam · 10/10/2025 11:04

Good job they're so 'marginalised and vulnerable'. Imagine what they'd be up to otherwise.

What's the bit missing in the picture of the 'refusal to define a woman' graffito?

eatfigs · 10/10/2025 11:07

Well done lads. You've managed to convince me that you're not just a bunch of violent, invasive men.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 10/10/2025 11:08

Are these the chaps where if we just spoke to them we’d be all good with sharing the ladies lavs with’em?
