Just at trigger warning that there are some graphic details in this article.

This is terrifying news for women in Ireland.
Barbie spent time in the female prison and was eventually moved after making threats to rape, torture and murder female inmates and prison officers.

In other news Ireland is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Self ID this week.
Barbie Kardashian is legally a woman in Ireland and cannot be legally refused access to female spaces.

Good grief- how frightening for Ireland's women.
The thought of bumping into 'Barbie' in the loo..

WTFAustraliaThisIsWhatHappensHereNow · 01/10/2025 10:13

That is absolutely terrifying. BK specifically and violently targets women, he will offend again, I have no doubt.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 01/10/2025 10:16

There is a high security psychiatric hospital in Ireland, isn't there? In all seriousness, surely he meets the criteria to be sectioned, or the Irish equivalent, given the huge threat he presents to all women.

GoldThumb · 01/10/2025 10:18

And they’ll be shocked when he reoffends. Ffs

PraisebetoGod · 01/10/2025 10:19

What the actual fuck. He needs to be locked up in a psychiatric hospital for life. God help Ireland.

No, it was reported in the past that he isn't technically insane. He was assessed as being highly manipulative and cunning. He can also be very charming.
But very very dangerous, especially towards women.
While in custody he attacked his female social worker in the car on returning from court, gouging her eyes with his long nails, causing serious injuries to her.
He is an example of everything that is wrong with Self ID. Anyone can just declare themselves a woman. No safeguards are in place.
But in Ireland, the government and it's opposition parties fully support Self ID and are looking at making non binary a legally recognised gender.

In the UK I believe you can't be sectioned because of a personality disorder. It's a tricky issue ethically, but this is such a clear-cut case of risk of violence that depriving this irreparably damaged man of his liberty seems the least worst option. What's happened to his father? Nothing good, I hope.

If he was sectioned he would be in a secure womens facility as Ireland has self identification. Imagine those poor female patients locked in with him, many probably have communication difficulties...

Authenticgreekyogurt · 01/10/2025 10:55

The father left the country years ago. I don't think he ever faced any consequences for his actions.

I clicked on this thinking it was about a literal Barbie doll styled after the Kardashians being released. It’s bizarre that people can change their name to mimic trademarked brands. Especially criminals.

Helleofabore · 01/10/2025 11:09

This must be very concerning for women and girls around where he will be living.

That has been tried when he was being released from the childrens system after his assault (?) conviction.

He went to court to prove wanting to kill his mother in that way did not make him insane.
There is a whole court judgement document which was circulated at the time of his arrest.
Its grim reading as his father was a violent abusive man and he was taken into care himself due to his attacking his mother.

The judge agreed that he was sane and referred the plans to murder his mother to the police which resulted in the current conviction.

But this is a great chance for all the Irish "TWAW and what a poor dear child she is" TRA to offer a bedroom or a sofa for the cause 😬

And this time Tusla can fuck right off with trying to supress his history and VAWaG

It's not known where he is living. He could be anywhere.
Also,as there is no definition as to what 'living as a woman' means, he can change appearance from male to female clothing on a daily basis.Nobody knows what he looks like, apart from the photo in the OP.
Photos of him as a male have never published as it's probably the equivalent of deadnaming him.
Self ID doesn't take the safety of women into consideration.

The Gardai should be given an up-to-date picture to include on an other warning that he is a dangerous "person" but its unlikely to be leaked (again).

StElwicksNeighbourhoodAssociation · 01/10/2025 11:29

It's a matter of time before he reoffends. Barbie is a very dangerous individual.

powershowerforanhour · 01/10/2025 11:39

Incredibly vicious and dangerous man, bred and trained by his father to hate and hurt women. Suicide without taking anyone else with him is realistically the best that be hoped for but I don't think that's likely. Got to be odds on that he will try to maim or kill a woman or girl, it's just a matter or when and where.

AnSolas · 01/10/2025 11:44

The report said implied he was on a mens wing?

Would anyone know if that was that due to hes being on trial for the rape and death threats or as a result of the CSA offender being released and he needed to be housed with other inmates?

And if so was he unlawfully detained or could the government have actually "grown a pair" and snook in a section 14 revocation letter ?

Tallisker · 01/10/2025 12:02

Why is he being released if he still needs to be segregated from other prisoners and needs several officers to accompany him at all times so the others are safe? Doesn’t seem to be rehabilitated. He’s going to have to kill a woman before they deal with him properly, isn’t he? And everybody knows it’s just a matter of time. Appalling.

Authenticgreekyogurt · 01/10/2025 12:09

The last 12 months of his sentence were suspended for some bizarre reason.
I am guessing it wasn't for good behaviour.

That would be given by the Judge as part of the whole term. And the courts have rules on how judges come to set a reasonable time for how long a sentence should be

The benefit to the community is that a judge can set out rules to control the individual after they leave prison. This allows the police and probation service to have a level of oversight which would not happen if he was finished serving his full term in prison (or in the community)

lcakethereforeIam · 01/10/2025 12:33

He was very young when he was incarcerated. I don't know how good Irish prisons are at rehabilitation but I hope they were working hard with this one. All we can do, for his sake as much as anyone else's, is pray he's changed. If he hasn't, and if he isn't supported on the outside we won't have heard the last of him. He had a wee fan club didn't he? I'm not expecting good things. I really want to be wrong.

He did his time and they have to let him go.

In Ireland the minimim term served for murder is 12 years plus the decision of a parole board.

I do hope that all the women (and men) he has been in contact with over the term will be contacted aa he has a history of planed delayed ambush attacks against people he had a grievance with.

I have a vague memory that he threatened or attacked female staff in the female prison which might be why he was moved to the male estate. But I can’t remember where I saw that so it might not be right.

Terrifying for women in Ireland.
