I can't understand how this person is not considered to be so unwell that he is a danger to himself and others and needs supervision, treatment, whatever - but not to be out on the street.
I mean just look at him, and listen to him - this is not a well person, FFS. If he wasn't so dangerous he'd be pathetic.
In July the international Committee for the Prevention of Torture stated that BK was being held in 'near total isolation in the High Protection Unit of Limerick Men’s Prison with minimal access to natural light and ventilation'.
As this was the best solution the prison service could come up with - presumably BK was just as threatening and violent in the men's section - the findings of the CPT may have influenced the early release - the prison service had probably run out of alternatives.
I've just checked the journal.ie news website - no mention of BK,
Ditto the Irish Times website.
Neither of them are crowing about the GRC and Teni either [Trans Equality Network Ireland, our equiv of Stonewall in terms of disproportionate influence on society] which is something to be relieved about.
The fact that BK has been released is a matter of concern for every women and girl on the island of Ireland. We should have been informed.
Thank you OP for posting.
