I confess I have a particular interest in this tribunal as I've had interactions with Leonardo in the past and they were very focused on increasing gender equality in engineering, at least they were back when women were women. So I'm interested in finding out what has changed.

Thanks, I have re-found Sam Bone as Sam B. Changing the name breaks previous saved links.

The resume is interesting. Sam B relinquished the role as Chair of the LGBTQ+ group at end Dec 2022, at same time Norman Bone CEO quietly left his job after nearly 20 yrs service and just one year as CEO: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/norman-bone-1b398240_as-some-of-you-may-have-noticed-i-quietly-activity-7044220804363935744-ntCm/

The Kelly tribunal was logged in 2024, so we will have to wait and see how the various individuals are linked, if at all.

Basically, it looks to me as though Leonardo.com isn't necessarily led from the top by true believers. It's a distinct strategy for a defence industry company to attract young employees. Recruitment has probably taken a particular hit because of opposition to war on Ukraine, Palestine, etc, and bringing your whole self to work presumably helps takes the edge of being involved in design, engineering & production of arms?

If that's the strategy, is it going to work? The Omnicause isn't likely to favour employment by Merchants of DeathTM. I suppose it might be effective on the IT side, given the proportion of genderists amongst the tech bros.

If I come dressed as Darth Vader, can I say I'm bringing my whole self to work?

As for tech bros, most of the engineers/IT guys I know (and love) wouldn't notice what sex/gender/species anyone was if they were engrossed in something interesting. Which is refreshing, unless you've just had your hair cut and would like your husband to notice...

The post linked to seems to have been deleted. It would be good if people could post screenshots to keep the receipts… that completes my public service announcement 😎🤓 thanks for this thread - will follow with interest

Maybe they've slapped a D notice on it, anything to keep cases like this out of the public gaze.

I usually take screenshots but Mumsnet doesn't seem to post them for me. I have stopped trying to post them because they haven't appeared in the past, even after a long delay.

I only joined started posting regularly during the Feb Sandie Peggie Tribunal. Screenshots showed up on my early posts but then suddenly didn't. I wonder if any of my posts were reported and I am no longer allowed, but I haven't seen any messages or emails to this effect.

Edit: I have been posting twitter links directly from Chrome web browser address bar but have noticed the one above isn't deleted but has been broken in the post. Again, I don't understand why.

EDITED 11: 38 @ikky I have also received email and look forward to joining you all at 12 tomorrow!

ickky · 29/09/2025 11:33

I just got the email. It says it starts tomorrow at 12pm and to join at 11.30am.

Just got an email saying have been successful. Starts tomorrow at 12pm.

wantmorenow · 29/09/2025 11:36

Just got my email with access too. Says due to large amount of interest to join early. Going to be another big case and hopefully another big win. 🤞

ickky · 29/09/2025 11:37

@NebulousSupportPostcard

The email to send the request is the one on my opening post. I initially emailed the courtserve one and they replied and told me to email the above one.

The link came from

Edited

how odd - I generally have a problem with links not posting - often no thumbnail or the link text gets rearranged but images have been ok. I use chrome on iOS or pc

NotNatacha · 29/09/2025 12:11

Just a reminder that if you do email to request access you need to state:

Case number: 8001497/2024 in the subject line of the email

(I put ‘Ms BM Kelly v Leonardo UK Limited Employment Tribunal Hearing’ as well, and also put both in the body of the email)

In what capacity you’d be attending. That’s probably ‘Member of the public’

Your full name

The email address you’ll be using to join the remote hearing

Apologies, I don’t remember who originally let us know about this hearing. Whoever it was, thank you very much.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 29/09/2025 13:40

I got access through this morning too. Thanks for the thread @ickky , and again thanks to the original poster for the heads-up.

Harassedevictee · 29/09/2025 15:09

I got access this morning too.

Some background to the case here.

So a different - and Scottish - barrister. Looks like this one is also into gender woo https://www.crownofficechambers.com/barristers/susanne-tanner-kc-scot/ Perhaps this one will put up a better case.

katmarie · 29/09/2025 16:31

I have just requested and been given access.

NotNatacha · 29/09/2025 17:29

Very helpful, @NotInMyyName , thank you.

A case potentially with consequences in many workplaces, and wider afield. Let’s hope there’s plenty of educated and informed comment in the media.

I imagine the case may be appealed whatever the outcome.

Very interesting, thank you.

Her experience and professional interests seem to be wide-ranging.

wantmorenow · 29/09/2025 17:42

Just looking through her X and LinkedIn and the KC seems to be on a wide range of women only groups: Women in Investigations Conference, The Female Fraud Forum, Women of Influence Awards, Women's White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA) and initiatives supporting ending VAWG. It seems much of her professional profile is based on her "femaleness". How does she reconcile that with opposing sex based rights for another women? The cognitive dissonance is mindblowing.
