This came on the radio. Reminded me of #SadTimes.

It's sad (so sad) so sad
It's a sad sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd

@CriticalCondition Probably because there is an awful lot of titting about and time wasting with these tribunals, it's a feature, not a bug.

Well, tbf, I wouldn't describe applications for disclosure or case management discussions with the judge as titting about and time wasting.

murasaki · 01/10/2025 16:10

Thanks so much, @MyrtleLion , you are a trooper! Much appreciated.

murasaki · 01/10/2025 16:11

And @ickky , of course!

Ahh but would there be a need to apply for disclosures if no titting had occurred?

Hi, I'd just like to thank everyone who has run and contributed to these threads and the Sandie Peggie threads. I read them all but they were so fast moving I was barely able to keep up. Amazing work from everyone!

Naomi Cunningham is my shero 💚

AutumnyCrow · 01/10/2025 16:14

Thanks, @MyrtleLion and @ickky and everyone on the thread. It’s been quite a day all round.

Following on from my earlier post about not wanting my real name on display, I've just had my linkedin looked at by someone I know who I had been suspcious might be involved in tribunal tweets (similar typing style). I don't mind so much if I'm right as I did suspect already they were a terf but doubt they'd admit its them.

Boiledbeetle · 01/10/2025 16:18

I must say it was nice today not to have to listen to the respondents council butt in to whine every 30 seconds.

MarieDeGournay · 01/10/2025 16:07

sponge cake, buttercream mascarpone - but the cocoa powder dusting is fat reduced.
That so important. If they had dusted it with ordinary cocoa powder it might have been a bit..y'know .. calorific? but now it's practically healthfood😂

I know! It's like going for a slap up meal and insisting on drinking diet coke. Why? Just why?

Totally, ST was good on that front, although it should be a bare minimum and not something we find the need to praise.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 01/10/2025 16:25

The sound quality was truly dreadful today, though. 😫

I can tell that you feel unsettled about this, sassanach, anonymity is essential to some posters, and is just liberating to others, like me, I really enjoy being MdeG instead of me, though in fact MdeG is mostly me, only braverSmile
Anyway, I'm sorry you feel uncomfortable about the situation and hope it is OK.

They need a white tablecloth, cutlery and salt and pepper cruets, so they can demonstrate:
The multi-sex toilet was HERE. The Russian gun emplacements were HERE.
The Queen's Own Mounted Secret Squirrels were deployed HERE and attacked along THIS line...

Do I sense a Four Feathers Fan?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 01/10/2025 16:31

Abominableday · 01/10/2025 15:36

would just like to confirm that what I say does not indicate my or Leonardo's views on any matter
what does this quote from the Leonardo solicitor mean - how can something she says NOT indicate her own views?

I took this as a reference that there is no opinion being expressed on the FWS judgment. ie L and their barrister will work on the basis that the law has been settled by the SC whether or not they agree with it.
So if they follow the language of the Supreme Court in FWS that isn’t expressing a view on whether or not they agree that TW are men.

This makes sense. I think JR in the Sandie Peggie case got close to trying to relitigate FWS which no Tribunal will allow.

This case has to consider that, as the basis for sex discrimination under the EA is biology and always has been (according to the SC), did the actions of L in turning the toilets into unisex ones by stealth, cause a detriment to women.

A Father Ted episode where a young male singer turns up at Ted's, and all the island women find out, swarm the house and he describes it as a tide of jam but made out of old ladies.

Obsessive fandom, basically.

Also involves a jumper baked into a cake...

Edited

Martin says thank you but his days of sitting on the tribunal panel are over.

#SadTimes.

murasaki · 01/10/2025 16:34

Sad times indeed. As he was excellent.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 01/10/2025 16:34

He’ll always be the yardstick against which all other employment tribunal panel members are measured.

Yes it is a potential problem. I would have liked to have observed but know someone senior at L UK and wouldn't want them to be aware of my burning interest in this issue.

Peregrina · 01/10/2025 16:46

What exactly did ST's examination establish? Was she trying to imply that MK knew about Mixed Sex provision but didn't object until now?

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 01/10/2025 16:48

I learned of this tribunal only today, through this thread.
I am outraged at what Maria went through and what she had to explain, publicly, at the tribunal.
How many other women are suffering even as I write this, who do not have the resources (personal, emotional, financial, etc) to take their case to a tribunal?
Sandie and Maria are the tiny tip of a doubtless very large iceberg of untold misery.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 01/10/2025 16:52

Thanks to everyone who's keeping us up to date. Especially @ickky and @MyrtleLion xx

He's very chuffed about that. He has retired for age reasons.
