Proper engineer talk, going North, East and North-East to reach loos from desk.

Pride and Gender Networks enter the court

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:31

From TT

We resume.
NC - page 47 tell us about the route from new desk to the toilets.
MK - entrance to all 3 toilets, are on N side of block, access, M and F. I would go N then E to the main block, not aware of men using. Or if need privacy NE of ladies is a double door.
J - clarifies

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:33

From TT

MK - other door into the cafe, follow wall line round, to left of cupboard when secret loo is.
NC - talked about it being hard to talk about at work, is L neutral on this?
MK - think the company does take a stance, Pride network was the first network. Gender network too, see

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:34

From TT

that as a stance. Others and I felt swamped by emails and communications. Others spoke to me about it feeling oppressive when Pride network started, maybe just because it was first. If someone wants to tell me about their sexuality that's fine, but no impact,

Boiledbeetle · 01/10/2025 12:35

Think of the stress she has suffered if this all started pre Maya. That's years of stress. The toll it has taken on her must be immense.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 01/10/2025 12:35

She’s a great witness.

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:36

From TT

MK - but there were leaflets talking about sexuality in relation to gender, L put out a glossary, pre-Maya, think it was lifted from Stonewall. Was meant to be about all DEI, but pregnancy wasn't mentioned, lots on GI, redefined sexuality in terms of gender

Boiledbeetle · 01/10/2025 12:36

💯

ThatPithySheep · 01/10/2025 12:36

Do you think the room is a bit chilly, one of the observers has put her coat on

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:37

From TT

NC - think there's a page.
MK - from memory this appeared a month or two after a div and equity lead joined. I noticed. This is why I say they had a stance, over this glossary.
NC - what is troubling?
MK - the gay mena nd lesbian women I know say it is on sex, men attracted to

That’s why i used my maiden name. My married name is very distinctive.

Mountbatten-Windsor ?

It works on my phone. A Google pixel. Maybe try that too.

I tried on a couple of iPhones without success. The annoying thing is that it worked on the iPhone for the Sandie Peggie tribunal last February. It's most convenient to me to have it on the iPhone as I can then listen via a Bluetooth ear bud while I am out & about.

Sod's law of course that as soon as I had moaned about not getting access then I am now in but they seem to be on a break.

Do you mean you waited a long time and it finally worked? Would you kindly tell me what you were using?

Having had an email with CVP in the subject line I googled it, and it led to this gov.uk page.

Here's part of what it says:

We recommend you join CVP on a laptop or a desktop computer.
Use the latest version of one of these browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Edge Chromium
CVP will not work on any version of Internet Explorer. If you are using an Apple laptop or device, we recommend you download and use Google Chrome.

Further down:
Open your internet browser. Make sure it is the only window open – all other browser windows and tabs should be closed.

In general for that page, I think whoever wrote it clearly had in mind that some readers might have little experience with computers and a relatively low reading age. For a government publication I think that's good.

CriticalCondition · 01/10/2025 12:38

Yes, she's a fantastic witness. Clear, coherent, to the point.

MK - men. it says homosexual is a more medical term and orientation is on gender. Includes pansexual and queer, but doesn' tmention pregnancy or maternity, swaps out sex for gender - huge red flag, misquoting the equality act. 80% is about identity, little on 8 PC's

NebulousSupportPostcard · 01/10/2025 12:30

I work with a lot of engineers, and that bit of her testimony made me chuckle.

NC even got hypotenuse in there!

ThatPithySheep · 01/10/2025 12:39

That is a might fine looking bundle

This so brilliantly clear and MK’s exposition is very welcome.

My experience, too, with an iPad. I don't know what changed, but I wish it hadn't.

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:41

From TT

MK - that's what I mean by company taking a stance. I asked anonymously for it to be taken down via a colleague on JCC, asked her to contact and say not about the law, focussing on ID, what about women, maternity, passing comments on race and aspergers, we are

MK - an engineering company, neurodiversity. It was taken down quite quickly.
NC - explain changes. Page
MK - I was drawn to glossary, new EDI lead, wasn't there long, I looked at the website saw this was appalled. This is an exchange colleague was on JCC, I wasn't

CriticalCondition · 01/10/2025 12:41

ThatPithySheep · 01/10/2025 12:39

I wouldn't expect anything less from NC and her instructing solicitors.

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:42

From TT

MK - this is me saying to her the glossary is misquoting the law, PC's wrong, can't acknowldge sexism without acknowledging sex, imp to me.. I listed the PC's, glossary says sex is assigned. Talks about phobia only in relation to gender, not race etc. Intersex is medical

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 12:43

From TT

MK - i was appalled a company I've worked for for so long took an ideological stance and it will impact me and others. Quite a senior member of staff said she would take it down, might have been a new EDI lead, or acknowleding it was wrong, don't know
