Pressed the wrong button and left the session by mistake. I will wait until after lunch to go back in, it was pretty upsetting hearing her talk about things that clearly upset her.

MarieDeGournay · 01/10/2025 11:36

Catching up - as PPs have said, it is totally unacceptable for a woman to have to say all this in public when IT'S THE LAW .should suffice.

On more mundane level - Mixed sex toilets with shared handwashing facilities are not regs compliant, shared toilets have to have handwashing facilities inside the enclosed cubicle,

Boiledbeetle · 01/10/2025 11:36

This is wrong on so many levels that her employer has decided its OK to fuck women over.

NebulousSupportPostcard · 01/10/2025 11:37

Link has strangely been removed but Leonardo website notes that 2023 was the year: "Members of our Pride network group then attended the inaugural LGBTQ+ Defence Awards, where it was highly commended in the Network of the Year category. Alongside this, Pride network Chair, Ivy Speight, was shortlisted as Inspiration of the Year." uk.leonardo.com/en/media/roty23/october

Women driven to using 'secret toilets'. My fury has risen to a new level.

I wonder if there were any toilets with urinals on them for men or there had ever been.

Of course they are now no longer secret, by tomorrow how many men will be using them?

CarefulN0w · 01/10/2025 11:40

Gosh this is hard to read, even second hard. Poor, poor woman. It’s unacceptable treatment of all women and a reminder that we are not worthy of consideration.

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 11:40

From TT

MK - job
NC - you say others use them?
MK - there's a secret loo there and on the second floor. Everyone I spoke to acknowledges the secret toilets. Was entering one, a female colleague with menopause symptoms was leaving said it's like a murder scene, because of the blood

MK - rare to bump into people, but do. They are out of the way, not that far, but across a public area, if a woman went through door it's too that loo they wouldn't be going to cleaners cupboard
NC - in a hurry which would you use?
MK - if blood or not well, if I was going to

MK - have to wash clothes maybe, I'd go to secret toilets, quick wee other, but anything needing dignity, secret toilet.
NC - on the plan, do you have colours? Can you explain the yellow area.
MK - I think it's a mistake, when I walk down corridor, theres an accessible toilet

And the tweets don't convey how upset she is. She's having a really tough time.

God, men are disgusting. They pee on the floor at work???

I took my late DH to task about this once. He said it wasn't always easy to aim straight. I asked him what was so difficult about getting a cloth to wipe up after himself.

Why hasn't somebody come up with a solution, e.g. adapted toilets specially for biological males, which have wall-mounted receptacles at a suitable height to remove the necessity for careful aiming, which is clearly unfairly challenging - to the point of being arguably discriminatory against men?

The could call them 'The Men's Toilet' or 'The Gents' and there could be a special symbol on the door....

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 11:42

From TT

a sign saying M and one saying F, but I'm certain there's no stand alone toilet there. I think it's been coloured incorrectly. There's an accessible one, gents in the middle, ladies toilets. There aren't 2 fully enclosed toilets there.
NC - from your desk where is the door...

J - pink accessible, gents and ladies marked, want to confirm with R that there's no toilet in yellow area?
ST - it's not been coloured to indicate toilet, different yellow on other page. despite key there is no ..
NC - there is no accessible toilet there, thank you

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 11:43

From TT

MK - if I was going to toilet, it would be this one
J - in relation to colouring, green ladies toilet it's the door?
MK - yellow is gents
J - I think what's happened... what I can see when i zoom in, shape of door hard to see, its north west.
MK - if I wanted to go to other

sassanach · 01/10/2025 11:45

its not clear to me yet what MK's issue is beyond disliking mixed sex toilets, how was she personally impacted, is there a DU type in leonardo?

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 11:45

From TT

MK - ladies loo, if you go S from other loos, 2cm then west there's a little door sign, you go into the cafe, tables, meetings etc. GO into that space, south by 5cm, go through double door to secret toilet, not marked.
J - from your desk, you leave through that door, then

Yes she noted she went to the ladies loos and trans identified man walked out

CriticalCondition · 01/10/2025 11:47

She's a great witness. Very clear in explaining to the judge the plan of where the various toilets, cafe, meeting areas, mezzanine, doors, desks are.

Boiledbeetle · 01/10/2025 11:47

I've enlisted my support cat in order to get through listening to this.

At least one TiM walked in when she walked out just after she had been washing blood from her hands.

Mixed sex toilets also mean men can hear your business. This isn't just about TiM in women's toilets. Leonardo made the toilets mixed sex.

Also it's acceptable to want to pee without men in the vicinity.

Oh gorgeous. Can we share him/her (I'd hate to misgender the cat, we all know that is literal violence)

MyrtleLion · 01/10/2025 11:49

From TT

J - route from desk isn't just S of desk
MK - no you have to leave the area.
NC - in terms of distance and privacy. If you stood and realised you had a flood. what is your thinking hten?
MK - how many people going to walk past, exposing blood on trousers, depends on

MK - time of day, lunch time the cafe is busy, I would need to wash clothing, would want privacy. Depends, cafe could be heaving. Ideally I would want to clean myself up in as quiet a way as possible without male colleagues seeing me.
NC -qu on how you became aware.

sniggerly · 01/10/2025 11:49

Are you listening to another tribunal sassanach?

Mmmnotsure · 01/10/2025 11:49

It's beginning to sound like a spy novel. Doors and corridors and walking through other areas to get to the secret toilet.

There are indeed many ways to make it difficult for women to function in society.
