These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. Currently reached 93% of its target.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court.

And a reminder of the next part of SB's testimony, with more perfectly timed selective amnesia.

SV how did you get hold of L's phone number and address when you gave it to the police?
SB the Telegraph took a photo of him outside his house and I worked out where it is from using publicly available pictures and google images
SV what did you do to get his mobile number
SB I was supplied it by an anonymous account which has since been deleted SV what did you say to the police when they asked you how you got this info
SB they didn't ask me
SV they did and their notes state you didn't want to tell them.
SV have you ever enjoyed or endorsed someone doxxing a political opponent of yours
SB i don't remember
SV so it's possible
SB yes
SV what did you think of the release of crickets at the LGB Alliance event
SB quite funny - the Lesbian Avengers used to do similar stunts in...
.. San Francisco in the 60s, so I thought it was funny a hate group was getting the same treatment.
SV what makes them a hate group
SB they say [missed this] spread disease
SV you think its hateful that some people believe women only toilets should only be available to women
SB yes!
SV that photo of you wearing a suffragette scarf - L identified the similarity between you and the teenagers who released the crickets at the LGBA conference - and that similarity was that you were wearing markers aligned to people with GC views.
SB yes
SV did you use that tactic a lot?
SB no - don't think so
SV are you associated with Trans Kids Deserve Better?
SB only started messaging through intermediaries recently
SV was one of those messages that you wanted as many people here at this trial as possible
SB that's perfectly normal

It's interesting reading how people are talking about Graham (offsite - I'm following this on antagonistic social media) as compared to what he actually said, and how he said it. He sounded – what's the word for it? – reasonable. For example, this "smashing" of the phone. He described it as skipping it like a stone across the water (if the road was water). He was quite believable as someone who just wanted this instrument of harassment out of his face and the faces of women, rather than utterly destroyed.

If Skim it like a Frisbee isn't in the new sitcom I'm going to be very disappointed.

Excellent points by @Catiette upthread about the parallels with the Peggie case

@Abhannmor I love your concept of the faux left and I'm going to start using the term from now on

If I recall mumsnetters thought Lucy Connolly should be arrested and jailed for a tweet. Why the different standards?

I'm confused about when the boombox under the car bit was supposed to have happened? Before the conference/phone incident or after?

Has he been arrested yet for violating his bail conditions? He said so himself a judge forbid him to post on Twitter then he did just that (there is a screenshot and archive available).

Maria MacLachlan runs the Peak Trans website, started after being robbed and assaulted at Hyde Park Corner in 2017. Only one of her assailants was caught and tried.

Maria was denied compensation because she refused to use his preferred pronouns in court. The judge insisted she refer to “Tara” Wolf as “she”. What was really hard, particularly if you see the footage, here () was it was not apparent that her attackers identified as women. Her evidence was that a young man assaulted her, a 60something grandmother. She had to use ‘he’ because he was a man. She was therefore forced to lie in court.

I attach a screenshot. Maria is outlined in green and her attackers in red. As you can see, they are young men.

In 2022 my restaurant was smashed up w/multiple threats of death & arson, & a huge pile on of fake 1* reviews. All because Suzanne Moore & JKRowling came for dinner once. No arrests made as was "not in the public interest" Honestly thought we were passed this shit. #glinner

'Trans activists' swamp London restaurant with one-star reviews and prank calls 'as owner supports JK Rowling'

I thought I'd see if any of those one star reviews were still there.

I found an interesting one....

The Borg tried to assimilate the Bluestockingers yesterday, but the gerbils proved that resistance, if sufficiently fluffy and scatterbrained, is far from useless.

Operation Let Them Speak in action.

Yes, the Met who are already looking like muppets across the actual whole globe...must be prepping right now to send maybe 10 armed officers to his house to arrest a man for saying 'thanks mate'.

"armed officers" Why armed? is his house an airport? Does he live at Heathrow?

It doesn't matter what he posted. He was given a bail condition and he broke it.

P did you know SB made reports to the police before

GL says he got someone arrested for someone pushing a camera out of his face... he also got someone arrested and Brooks quickly had their hands on their home address and I think the police gave it to him.

P trying to find out where she was studying - were you trying to intrude on her life GL I was because he is a criminal - he harasses people and he's a sadist.

P you say "was interesting to meet Tarquin today - absolute psycho" - was that based on your interactions?

GL he was going round putting a speaker under a car he thought was mine - showing people photos of my wife's house

P that day he wasn't being a psycho GL he was he was following me around all day and harassing me - I think sociopath is more accurate P you say that on oath? GL yeah P that's an abusive term GL it's accurate - what part of him going around harassing people don't you understand?

Reads like BEFORE the BoI

Given that Glinners website was being reported to Anti-Terrorism the other day, and theres so much gleeful reporting I find it inconcieveable his tweet HASN'T been report to the police.

Its too much of a temptation.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 06/09/2025 11:53

If I recall mumsnetters thought Lucy Connolly should be arrested and jailed for a tweet. Why the different standards?

Because Lucy Connolly posted “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f hotels full of the b* for all I care... If that makes me racist, so be it.” [She may have used actual swear words but the quote I found used asterisks.]

This is clearly exhorting people to set fire to buildings with people in them, and she wouldn’t care if people did that. And two days later someone did actually set fire to an hotel where asylum seekers were living. That is incitement to violence.

She also pleaded guilty, knowing that the minimum sentence would be a jail term of years not months. She’s not stupid. She had legal advice, so why would she plead guilty to that offence if she had been able to avoid jail?

Linehan on the other hand is telling women to raise the alarm and call the police if they find a man in their single sex spaces, and “as a last resort” defend themselves by kicking him in the balls. This advice has been dished out to women for decades. Linehan is also a well-known writer of comedy, so can feasibly say that it was a joke.

There is a profound difference in calling on people to kill others who have committed no offence, (and who are probably vulnerable because of their circumstances in needing to apply for asylum and the treatment and harassment they receive as a result), and telling women to defend themselves against predatory men who are committing an offence.
