IDareSay · 05/09/2025 11:51

These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Graham's account of the arrest here

You can support his Substack here

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. Currently reached 93% of its target.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court.
You can support Nick here (posted this morning Friday 5th September):

"I am deeply grateful to everyone who has seen fit to bung me the cost of a coffee, a pint or even a bloody London pint since I found out I was able to come back today. If you think you can afford to make a small donation, there’s more info here:"

I think your FUCK OFFs are very effective!

(I was going to say well-timed, but then remembered one appeared immediately after one of my posts and I was like 'oooh' 😳🤣)

😂😂

I couldn’t possibly comment 😉

Graham is in pain every day about the breakup of his marriage.
Yes he is big and sweary and hot headed
but his reaction whenever his ex and daughter are raised
show how much it hurts
AND
the relief of pain is in the hands of others

Tarquin and co to back off
Jimmy and Arthur to take the cash and stop being wazzocks
and from that
his family to feel safer

musicalfrog · 05/09/2025 22:07

I have noticed on today's bbc article, Glinner's words, right there in black and white, for all to see. Front page too. That must be a good feeling.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/09/2025 22:16

I think this is giving an off-ramp to many of those who hitched their wagon to the wrong star (? can't quite remember the expression) and have been looking for a way to change course without losing face.

Reverse ferret?

Mindful of this morning’s evidence from the policeman who took up the investigation after TRA complained, did any of you read this Wings over Scotland article and think “oh, Kirkcaldy; where have I heard of that town before?”: https://wingsoverscotland.com/down-on-the-beaches/

I've just read all of that.

There are a few mentions of Bath.

Might I enquire as why?

Forewarned, and all that.

CohensDiamondTeeth · 05/09/2025 22:26

Reverse ferret?

There's a lot of it about right now. I just looked up the collective noun for ferrets.

It's a business.

And by God are they busy right now. It's a rum business.

They certainly ignore all the reports of criminal activity reported on my street. And tell us they received no reports. Even in the face of our joint Street Google doc where we record the crime numbers, (and dates and ring doorbell evidence) as received from online reports. That's the Met.....

Well you know what to do. You and your neighbours ought to write to Sir Mark and ask why the fuck - given his statement about the arrest of Graham Linehan that his officers are duty bound to investigate any crimes reported to them and that they have no choice in the matter - his officers haven't been investigating crimes reported by you and your neighbours.

You could also go down the route of the alleged "victim" here and complain to the IOPC or threaten judicial review. (I wouldn't have thought either of these would ever work but obviously they worked for the alleged "victim" here...)

EchoedSilence · 05/09/2025 22:44

I'm still laughing at his photo of him in the hospital. Like the ones you get on FB. 'you ok babe'

Ha. It'd work better if I had a poor oppressed trans neighbour, but sadly not. Maybe I can convince one of the blokes to pretend. Maybe the biggest unit on the street.

So. Brooks is dodgy as fuck and it's interesting that the Internet doesn't know his real name and there are serious doubts about his age. I hope better brains than mine will get to the bottom of those two mysteries soon. I have no doubt there's a lot more dirt about the fragrant Sophia out there.

Question for the lawyers out there.

Perhaps I'm being naive here, but if I were charged with a criminal offence I would expect to know who the witnesses giving evidence against me were - so that I could investigate them.

I'm aware that "bad character" evidence can't necessarily be used to undermine a witnesses' credibility, but am I mistaken to believe that the defence should know all the previous names a witness has been known by?

Incidentally regarding all the speculation regarding the Sophie Brooks as a director on Companies House, I suspect they are different people.

I think the Reverend Stu lives in Bath.

Seeing the sunlight this is bringing, I think the £20 I donated to Glinner's crowd funder will rate among the best money I've ever spent.

Like the Isla Bryson case and the pink leggings picture landing at just the right moment in the self ID debacle in Scotland, arresting Graham was perfect timing (although unfortunately not for him personally).

Public memory is short. They hear his name attached to one court case and then another a few months later and the lazy assumption is just 'oh he's at in again '.

Having him arrested and then in court in the same week - and both being instigated by the same person and based on such flimsy hurty feelings - has finally made people sit up and go 'hang on, who is being harassed here'?

I could never understand how people didn't find the no debate/ cancel culture terrifying, even if you don't agree with the other side.

The Times has a wee interview with Glinner

I was just thinking about being arrested by armed Police. I know the guns were there because the airport police are routinely armed but they were there. I know Glinner has been living in America where all police are routinely armed but they aren't arresting him.

I think he did that to himself.

Mmmnotsure · 06/09/2025 00:01

2025 in the UK - do we really have people in courts bringing cases and bearing witness without their identity being known and secure (eg where age may be a factor in a case, that we know their date of birth, etc)? Presumably the judge would have certainty of id about the individuals concerned?

[Then remembers reissuing of driving licences in new names, new birth certificates issued with new genders, etc, and despairs.]

I have donated to Nick Wallis. He is doing an AMAZING job of preventing other news outlets pretending this is not happening

Don’t forget this is the journalist that brought the post office scandal into the open.

Can’t recommend The Great Post Office Trial podcast series enough.

It is quite something to learn how these psychos were putting fake bombs under cars. You’d have to be a psycho to put what look like bombs under someone’s car. I didn’t realise quite how nasty these guys are. It feels bad people, with mental problems, were/are being let loose to do what they will, with the added travesty of the police not only protecting them, but assisting them in their persecution of those they decide to target. Feels dystopian.

Edited

And the fake bomb is going to have a greater effect on an person growing up in Ireland at the time than on some others, and they know that. It was deliberate.
