Arrested again! Details on his Substack. This is beyond a joke; 5 armed officers!

I just got arrested again

I arrived back in London to discover the UK is still a police state run by trans activists

There's a venomous tone.

😲

Not the wrong tone! Oh for shame,

@MrsSlatersParrot you lost me at menopausal mama bear.

Oh dear. If only you'd managed to make it to the end of that sentence you might not have felt so lost.

Alas, I have to lecture today so need to leave the house and won't be around to read any more thrilling revelations you might have until tonight, but I'll look forward to your scintillating updates over dinner.

"Five cops, with guns."

This has been addressed multiple times in the thread. It's Heathrow airport, police carry guns.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/father-ted-co-creator-graham-141003577.html

“The arrest was made by officers from the MPS Aviation Unit,” a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said in a statement to media. “It is routine for officers policing airports to carry firearms. These were not drawn or used at any point during the arrest.”

There was no need to arrest him at the airport.

Hi

Having seen police at an aircraft side at Heathrow to, err, greet people, a handful of times weapons would be absolutely normal and it's not unusual for there to be more than a couple in the team.

Anyone ordering the arrest to be done at that location would have known that...

To me the really big query about the arrest is not weapons or number of officers, it is who made the decision it should be done at the aircraft door and why?

They might have had legit reasons but at a first glance it does look as if someone was trying to make a point/make an example of a highish profile individual.

All very sinister.

Well yes. It’s not like Glinner is a fugitive fleeing justice; on the contrary he’s flown over specifically for a court case. The authorities know exactly where he’s going to be going.

Pluvia · 03/09/2025 09:05

Morning all. Just a reminder for those who have no idea how much violent misogyny against Terfs and GC people, here's your evidence:
https://terfisaslur.com

And I echo all the others on here asking to know the identity of the individual who decided that five armed officers walking Graham off the plane was the appropriate and poroportional course of action.

You’re a lecturer?

outofdate · 03/09/2025 09:07

Just coming on Radio 5 Nicky Campbell. Guess we’ll hear a lot of male voices..

ThePoshUns · 03/09/2025 09:10

I’m an ex cop and had to keep my GC views to myself for the last few years I was in the job. The decision to arrest would have been made by someone of senior rank. I honestly don’t know what I’d have said or done if ordered to arrest.
Policing has been really captured by Trans ideology and I doubt that even post the Supreme Court ruling and the pride march ruling that much has changed.
i am flabbergasted at Linehans arrest, I don’t always like the tone of his tweets but he has been fighting for women’s rights for a long long time.
i have real concerns about the right or freedom of speech in the UK, it seems you are only free to say what you like as long as the labour govt agree with you.
I have voted labour my whole life but am really dismayed at their inability to come off the fence.

You’re a lecturer?

Lecturing ≠ 'being a lecturer'

Old men in pubs lecture. Taxi drivers lecture.

Webberley is an attention seeker. She’s deliberately goading that she can get away with it. Expect more of this from TRAs. They are gloating.

Yep. Her income from sterilising kids has taken a hit so she's now reduced to engagement farming on TwiX

RoyalCorgi · 03/09/2025 09:18

Everything about that is wrong.

  1. The tweets were no more an incitement to violence than thousands of tweets posted on X every day. If the police are obliged to investigate every report from the public, then they could have taken a look at the tweets, noted that they were relatively mild and told the complainant to jog on.
  2. Assuming the complainant is who we all think it is, then this is someone who is known for making vexatious complaints. That is an additional reason to ignore him - or indeed to arrest him for wasting police time.
  3. Having made the absurd decision to arrest Glinner, there was no need to do it at the airport, given that Glinner was known to be arriving in the country for a court case and therefore his whereabouts would be known.
  4. There was no need to have five police officers involved.
  5. There was no need for the police to be armed - and yes, I know all police at Heathrow are armed, but see point 3.

The whole thing is absurd overreach on the part of the police and whichever senior person made the decision. I absolutely cannot fathom what is going on in the minds of these people. I thought things might improve when Mark Rowley took over, but that doesn't seem to have happened.

Igneococcus · 03/09/2025 09:19

You know those really sarky conversations you have in your own head after a confrontation with someone and you play through all the stuff you could have said, perfectly phrased, to that person if only you were quick witted enough? The esprit d'escalier type thing? That's how parrot's posts read to me.

MrsSlatersParrot · 03/09/2025 08:48

Don't worry; I'm not in the least offended by you, or by anyone else who attempts to attack me. Honestly, I find such people fascinating and ridiculous in equal measure.

For clarity, I am in no way a subscriber to the ideology of GC. Neither am I a TRA.
If that non-binary stance is confusing, then I shall make it abundantly clear to you, and to anyone else foolish enough to cross me; my political stance is defined by rationalism, common sense, and a desire for measured behaviour.
I roundly criticise the absurdly disproportionate police response in cases like this in the same way I roundly criticise the disproportionate reactions of many adherents to GC when they needlessly attack the trans community.

If I sometimes come across as combative toward idiots, and give them short shrift, that's because as a menopausal mama bear in her 50s I've very little time or patience for imbecility. You don't have to like that, you don't even have to understand it, but I do expect you to spend a few minutes reflecting on it.

Hope this helps clarify things for you.

LOL. We’re all quaking in our boots!

😂

It wasn't an attack, so it seems you have been offended and not taken my post at all in the spirit in which it was intended. Oh well.

I didn't say you were GC, just that some of your posts have a GC perspective.

Again with the smug intellectual superiority though, your repeated insinuations that other posters are stupid is not going unnoticed, but also don't have the sting I think you are hoping it will.

"in the same way I roundly criticise the disproportionate reactions of many adherents to GC when they needlessly attack the trans community"

Ah and that's a TRA perspective.

Idiots and imbeciles. Attacking again with that smug "I'm smarter than you are" tone. You do not come across at all well, or nearly as intelligent as you clearly think you do.

"menopausal mama bear"

Second hand cringe for you here, and you aren't the only woman here who is of menopausal age.

"You don't have to like that, you don't even have to understand it, but I do expect you to spend a few minutes reflecting on it."

Aw look, you intentionally mirrored my question with some extra attitude on it, and handed down in the superior tone of an order too. 😂Not very original are you? But then I am told that imitation is the highest form of flattery

You clearly do mean to act this way so I don't think I need to spend any more time "reflecting" on you at all 😂

There was no need to arrest him at the airport.

They could have interviewed him discreetly when he'd gone through Arrivals. The optics are terrible. Like the bizarre paramilitary swoop on the home of Cliff Richard. Whether it was intentional or just badly implemented ; who knows?

I noticed Jo has (finally) posted about him on her Twitter.

Well if anyone is still asking "what has Jo said that's homophobic/transphobic" she's openly defending someone who spends a lot of his time harassing, defaming and threatening gay and trans people and anyone who supports them.

And can we address the right-wing manipulation going on about "the police being armed to arrest someone for tweeting". The arrest happened at an airport, the police there are routinely armed for general national security reasons.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/father-ted-co-creator-graham-141003577.html

“The arrest was made by officers from the MPS Aviation Unit,” a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said in a statement to media. “It is routine for officers policing airports to carry firearms. These were not drawn or used at any point during the arrest.”

So the same goes for Owen Jones then as hes defending glinner too or is it only gc people who you hold responsible for the alleged words and/or actions of others

ThePoshUns · 03/09/2025 09:34

People need to stop apologising for posting links to the DM, they were the first of all newspapers to raise the trans issue and the erosion of women’s rights, they are still the most vocal in this. I know they are awful in many other areas but they deserve some recognition for bringing this issue to the attention of the masses.

Oh dear. You’d think someone who prides themself on clear thinking might realise MN FWR isn’t the same as a room full of students and that approach will be risible here. A bit of research and then adjust style to be appropriate to the participants might be a good idea.

Well there’s certainly been a lot of pompous and self-important lecturing on here! And something just up thread about those ‘foolish enough to cross me’ or similar made me laugh out loud. I think that poster thinks rather highly of themselves.

Livelovebehappy · 03/09/2025 09:36

Utterly appalling that our police force have been put into positions of being speech and social media investigators, instead of doing actual policing. I was mugged in London earlier this year, reported it and all I got was a couple of lines on an email two weeks later saying they didn’t have the man power to devote to looking into it. Obviously been instructed by this useless government to focus their policing on free speech quotes.
