Arrested again! Details on his Substack. This is beyond a joke; 5 armed officers!

I arrived back in London to discover the UK is still a police state run by trans activists

The best thing is that disgraced ex copper Lynsey Watson is involved in both cases. When that properly comes out it's going to be biiiiiig

Front page of newspapers, politicians commenting and a general sense of outrage. This wasn't what the bullies intended. You know how to make a splash!

Apollo441 · 03/09/2025 03:17

By the way, kicking someone who is sexually assaulting you in the bollocks is sound advice. And I'd include any male exposing himself in a female changing room.

Indeed, our own dear Queen Camilla recommends - and has apparently employed - such action.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15057371/Father-Ted-creator-Graham-Linehan-arrested-Heathrow-Airport.html

"A spokesman for the Met Police told the Mail 'The man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of inciting violence. This is in relation to posts on X."

Apologies for the DM link, the story is new so there isn't much choice so far, but hopefully this should be a reminder to everyone that inciting violence is illegal. Including towards LGBT people.

Imagine thinking you sound measured when you're cheering for FIVE ARMED POLICEMAN arresting a man for a tweet saying if a man commits a violent, abusive act you should "make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails punch him in the balls".

The fact that you are pretending this is not an utterly lunatic over reach of power means you have no sensible argument to make.

Not to mention, he actually said punch him in the balls - he explained to the police that "the ‘punch’ tweet was a serious point made with a joke. Men who enter women’s spaces ARE abusers and they need to be challenged every time. The ‘punch in the bollocks’ bit was about the height difference between men and women, the bollocks being closer to punch level for a woman defending her rights and certainly not a call to violence. (Not one of my best as one of the female officers said “We’re not THAT small”)."

I wouldn't have said it, but even those who are pretending that in a country where paedophile rapists walk free daily Linehan's tweets are some sort of threat, and are pretending that they don't understand that he told women who are terrified of being assaulted by a man to defend themselves, even those people cannot under any circumstances pretend that the correct response to his tweet was five armed policeman coming to drag him away as he stepped off a plane. What a fucking joke.

Helleofabore · 03/09/2025 04:33

It has even made the ABC in Australia.

Helleofabore · 03/09/2025 04:40

I can imagine the column inches coming soon though pointing out all the signs we see (even with elected parliamentarians standing in the pic), all the other tweets that never get police action, all pointing out the double standards being applied.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 03/09/2025 04:44

Anyone got a photo of any of these FIVE ARMED policemen everyone keeps bringing up?

I can't even imagine what that must look like. We just have the regular ones with two arms around here.

Igneococcus · 03/09/2025 06:27

Something the TRA ploppers never realize is how hard it is to pull of this look of "amused aloofness" convincingly that many of them are aiming for when they post here.

It shouldn’t even be covered in the media to the extent it is. It is only news because he is a rich white male celebrity comic.

How many women have lost their jobs, been banned and whisked down to to station for police questioning for saying much less than him? And never once hinting at violence…

Typical, the media only cares and is outraged when a rich white man gets handled with kid gloves by the police after going way beyond what any woman has said.

I don’t think there is a rash of women whisked to the police station for similar. Can you show this?

I remember the sticker incident which got attention but still it was a visit to a house rather than full on arrest at airport by five armed police.

It’s good it’s in the news anyway, it’s lunacy. Why do you support it?

Helen oyce has a collection of the Front Pages of the newspapers on the arrest The Sun has the best one
https://x.com/HJoyceGender/status/1963001144524857805

Make no doubt about it this is a huge blow against the genderist cause.

I like how the pages also turn into a flip book of Angela Rayner getting out of a taxi.

Brilliant, blazing sunlight. I'm sorry you had to be arrested, Glinner, and for the stress. But this has shone a very bright light on the problem.

EasternStandard · 03/09/2025 06:41

Just read back and see that pp is somewhat fixated on GL

I have to say, @Christinapple, that @thebabayaga does make a perfectly valid point here.

Having read through the thread, even through the infantile dribbling of certain posters who've made impotent attempts to attack me, I've tried hard to rationalise your posts - I really have - but the kindest thing I can say is you are perhaps arguing at cross purposes.

That Linehan made a post that can be (and was) construed in law as being a possible incitement to violence isn't the issue - only a halfwit would suggest otherwise - but what @thebabayaga and others are saying is that the police response was utterly disproportionate to the suspicion of a potential crime.

And they're right. The tweet he made simply does not merit an arrest by five armed police. The whole thing was done for show, and it's probably going to backfire horribly on those who orchestrated it.

ArabellaScott · 03/09/2025 06:52

If you wanted to illustrate that a country has a problem with free speech, and you tried to dream up the most starkest illustration possible, you'd have someone make a joke, a fairly mild.one, and post it on X. Then you'd have them arrested as soon as they entered the country. By armed police. Bonus points if the person is a comedian for a living.

I hope that up and down the country jigsaw pieces are clicking into place, and people are considering the National Library of Scotland vanishing a book that the public voted for, and events called "Let Women Speak' being violently brigaded and women punched (the police take no action), Edinburgh University protestors spitting on women attending a film screening, this same ex police trans identifying man making threats to the Sandie Peggie tribunal, SNP ministers standing in front of a sign calling for the decapitation of women... I could go on and on.

The country has been in the grip of a hostile men's rights movement for years. That movement, genderism, has been backed up by violent, unstable activists who have threatened, hounded, harassed, attacked, smeared, vilified and bullied women out of public life.

If you thought it was all about toilets, you have spectacularly missed the point.

It's about men wielding power, and enabling the subjugation of women.

BonfireLady · 03/09/2025 06:56

Popped onto this thread to catch up after seeing the Streisand Glinner effect in the papers on X.

Haven't had chance to read all the comments but it's great that the TRAs haven't been able to stop good discussion.

It's equally great that the Met Police forgot to put a ban on Glinner using Mumsnet in their (highly questionable if it's legal) bail conditions 😂 Good to see you here again and I hope it's becoming less stressful when you can see just how much support you're getting.

If any journalists are reading this, please can you follow the obvious investigative leads that are already out there in the public domain. It's probably too early yet for mainstream media to look into the person who allegedly reported in Glinner's wrongthink, but maybe ask Channel 4 why one of the best episodes of the IT Crowd was removed from its replays ...and then watch it - it's not remotely transphobic, it's just fab comedy. Also maybe ask Hat Trick why the Father Ted musical is banned...and then read Glinner's own words, from his book or his Substack, about what he said to Jimmy Mulville regarding vulnerable children. A bit of light digging would reveal a lot about what 'cancel culture' and 'both sides' really mean in this global medical, safeguarding and women's rights scandal.

Glinner, until I started reading your own words in long form, I thought you were just a potty mouth on this topic 😬 I want to apologise for having got that wrong and to thank you for all the hard graft you've put in raising awareness about what's happening to vulnerable children and on the impact of transwomen on women's sports and spaces.

Gosh yes. Will the police be lining up to arrest her next time she gets off a plane? I think not.

Sixties spiky heeled shoes were excellent weapons, I remember them well. And before them, hatpins, though they were before my time.

I do love it when posters ‘apologise for the mail link’

‘ughh i nearly vomitted whilst pressing send and then had to slather myself in the guardian to make myself feel better’ it’s the ultimate pearl clutch

Agree! Interesting that of you look at a newsstand the paper that sells out first is the Mail, plant of Guardians left languishing.
If as a poster you really disapprove of the Mail, just ignore it and don’t quote it. If you quote it, own it, utterly hypocritical and cringey to feel the need to apologise. 😂

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but in one of the first interviews with Zack Polanski, just elected leader of the Greens, has just said the arrest was fine on Newsnight ;

"These are totally unacceptable tweets... I think it was proportionate to arrest him" Zack Polanski, Green Party Leader, on the arrest of comedy writer Graham Linehan at Heathrow airport on Monday.

This is absolutely authoritarian nonsense. Hopefully it will follow him. Especially as it is pretty clear that his deputy leader Ali Mothin is a secret believer in biology.

Follow the Green thread for more on the worrying goings on inside the Greens.

This reminds me of when John Lennon said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus. No one in the UK batted an eyelid. Then it was picked up months later in America, and there was a witch hunt. We all thought it was an over the top response. Now we're the crazy, over the top ones compared to America. That's a bit scary

This - hopefully tho’ they will take the last votes from the remaining few unhinged supporters of this Labour shower that aren’t already hoovered up by the Fruit and Nut party.

it’s front page news everywhere today, roundly slating the police action and in support of Graham.

Including criticism of the police from one Keir Starmer.

It strikes me as being reminiscent of being swatted tbh.

At some point, arguably this level of vexatious reporting needs to be dealt with as what it is - harassment using the authorities to intimidate.

I think we can make a reasonable guess at your political affiliation from such a tellingly ignorant statement.

Many thousands of people not only take the Greens seriously but believe, not unreasonably, that their policies are increasingly vital in our corrupt society.
Their first MP, Caroline Lucas - a woman I happen to know personally and have great respect for - did phenomenal work in acting against, and in at least two cases I can think of exposing, corruption in the Tory party.

Can someone please explain why GL saying punch a TW in the balls is different to Sarah Jane Baker saying punch a terf in the face?

I have no dog in this game, I'm neither for nor against GL but if one is bad surely the other also is?

Gliner was talking about aggressive predatory males refusing to leave a women's single sex facilitie therfore self defense tactics for quite specific situation.
Whereas SJB was inciting violence against any women at any time in any place for the crime of being perceived as a terf. But according to judge tam it was just a joke.
So what we have is a male comedian giving self defense advice vs a convicted murderer with a history of both physical and sexual violence making threats against all women and encouraging others to do so at a rally of aggressive males many of whom were holding "kill terf" placards.
Can you see the difference now?
