Get the popcorn folks. GLP is getting ready to lose again.

They are going after barrister Sarah Phillimore for referring to a man as a man. They think they are going to lawfare her into silence.

The only thing is other TAs have already tried this on Phillimore multiple times. They went to the Bar Council their claims were dismissed. They all failed. More to the point this ‘Kate’ is the same guy complaining again who already failed. Sarah Phillimore knows the law and likes explaining it to TAs and making them lose. So she doesn't even resent the attempt.

As Sarah has stated "They pick on someone who not only enjoys this but has now a vast repository of knowledge about the law in this area."

what’s a TERF opinion, compared with just an opinion?🤣🤣You called us all sane earlier in the thread, so I presume you mean a sane, logical opinion shared with the vast majority of people?

I don’t have the answers to these questions but I’d love to hear yours (as someone else tried answering up thread).

But id love to ask you some questions:

How could we know how many women were assaulted by transwomen in female bathrooms in the U.K. in the last 12 months when crime stats would record this as female on female crime?

Why are you so focussed on assaults and don’t understand privacy and dignity concerns of women?

Why can’t you understand that we accept that “trans people exist” but would like them to have their own facilities rather than crash in on women?

Why don’t you know your recent history so you’d understand that women’s “facilities” and “services” had to be fought for by women and only existed for 50-100 years (and are the often basis on which our participation in public life hinges on) so obviously we will resist males who (continue) to try to undermine these (whether or not they wear make up and dresses)?

he’s not interested @KnottyAuty this is the sort of poster who just wants to write TERF lots and spout juvenilia. Luckily we have the supreme court and the vast majority of people on our side.

I didn’t state my opinion and I didn’t express any judgement about strength. I merely pointed out that your posts were full of flawed logic and that you were using fallacious arguments to support any coherent point you made.

However, my opinion is that humans cannot change sex ever and that the English language has well established meanings for words such as ‘man’ and ‘woman’ that refer to sex that do not include the opposite sex being included in those words, regardless of any philosophical belief they hold about themselves that doesn’t reflect the material reality of their body.

I also suggest if you want people
to respond you might stop using the word Terf as it will likely lead to all your posts being deleted. Or is that the plan? That you want your posts to be deleted?

@Sammybabes16 if you type the @ symbol you should get a drop down, scrollable list of other posters. If you pick the poster you are replying to from that list they will get a notification that they've been mentioned by you.

If you click on the three dot in the top right corner, there's a drop down menu. Toward the bottom there's an option to edit your new posts for typos, autocorrupts, etc. After a few minutes though you do lose the option to edit the post.

You may be using a version of MN that doesn't have these facilities. In which case apologies.

I know - but I live in hope. And when I was a lurker reading these threads I didn’t always understand that these sorts of things were regular “visitors” who had exhausted the patience of “regulars” so didn’t always understand the snark. So for anyone lurking they’ll see what happens when some reasonable questions are asked. Will it be a) avoidance b) Daily Mail style misinterpretation or c) mudslinging?
