Get the popcorn folks. GLP is getting ready to lose again.

They are going after barrister Sarah Phillimore for referring to a man as a man. They think they are going to lawfare her into silence.

The only thing is other TAs have already tried this on Phillimore multiple times. They went to the Bar Council their claims were dismissed. They all failed. More to the point this ‘Kate’ is the same guy complaining again who already failed. Sarah Phillimore knows the law and likes explaining it to TAs and making them lose. So she doesn't even resent the attempt.

As Sarah has stated "They pick on someone who not only enjoys this but has now a vast repository of knowledge about the law in this area."

Trans women and trans men wanting to use the facilities/spaces for the opposite sex present very different challenges for society.

The Supreme Court ruling is very clear that under the Equality Act 2010, trans women are men, and trans men are women. GRCs are irrelevant.

If a trans man chooses to undress or shower or to be imprisoned with biological men, she is the one at risk of violence or sexual assault. It is a very bad choice in my view, but at least she makes it knowingly. The affected men may be surprised/embarrassed/annoyed, which isn't ideal. But they won't be frightened. She's not a potential physical threat to them, she's instead a potential victim.

But, if a trans woman chooses to undress or shower or to be imprisoned with biological women, the women are the ones being placed at risk of violence or sexual assault. The man (and a trans woman is a man) hasn't asked for or received the women's consent for his presence in their supposedly women-only spaces. He just pushed his way in regardless.

The trans woman has unilaterally made the decision for his inclusion on behalf of each and every one of the women (and potentially teenage girls). He has decided that his want for 'womanly' validation outweighs their need for safety, comfort and well-being. He is both horribly selfish and hatefully wrong in his actions.

Pubs have much stricter age checks than when I were a lass. Back then you could even drink in pubs in your school uniform, although you had to take your tie off.

It's tough for teenagers nowadays.
