That thing that never happens because these are the most vulnerable people in our society.

BunfightBetty · 21/08/2025 00:47

Nope, never happens.

Blimey! How drunk was he that he couldn't tell that was a man?
They really DO just see us as boobs on legs, don't they?

CheeseChamp · 21/08/2025 05:06

Wouldn't it be nice if straight men became less attracted to surgery face and lots of make up on a woman the so called kardashian look, and started to prefer natural looking girls again because that other style is trans style and too risky. Then these girls won't need to get surgery and spend all their time doing make up and hair. Probably hoping for too much sense from the kind of men who like that look.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 21/08/2025 05:53

Apologies for being graphic but what did he think he was penetrated by? I think all this needs to stop.

Justme56 · 21/08/2025 05:56

Don’t get me wrong the deception is horrible but no touching below the waist and the victim’s reaction to the big secret is ‘are you pregnant?’.

Didn’t you read the article?

Don’t know how he couldn’t tell it was a bloke. Looks like Billy Boswell in a wig.

Yes, I’m baffled. “Watkin, of Thornaby, denies two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual assault by penetration.” Yet couldn’t touch below the waist? It doesn’t make sense.

ArabellaScott · 21/08/2025 06:10

The alleged victim was penetrated, it seems. If proven, this would surely be 'sex by deception'.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 21/08/2025 06:25

Yes, that is how I read it but then it took a text to say he is a bloke??

cathyandclaire · 21/08/2025 06:30

Presumably the penetration wasn't with his penis but with a finger/ sex toy.

ArabellaScott · 21/08/2025 06:30

Penetration can be achieved using any body part or other object.

RandomlyGeneratedTriad · 21/08/2025 06:48

The photo highlights one of the reasons that some men believe they can become women. For so many men and women now, 'womanhood' is equated with something entirely artificial - a weird sexualised parody of a normal appearance that is achieved by surgery and other interventions.

Some posters have expressed doubt that the victim in this case could really have believed this to be a woman. I believe it, though, because the perpetrator has purchased everything necessary to create (from the waist up) the porn-addled facsimile of womanhood that is purchased by so many actual women to replace the realities of a female appearance.

The specific and age-old reality-denial associated with men experiencing themselves as women has been significantly inflamed by a wider unrealism. In addition to excessive make up and cosmetic procedures, we also have photo filters, AI-manipulated imagery and the whole business of having a fake version of oneself online. We're all less anchored in reality now.

What a fucking awful world.

RandomlyGeneratedTriad · 21/08/2025 06:55

And, just to add to my last post, the huge pressures young women face to buy in to this facsimile of womanhood must, I imagine, be part of the reason why some girls resort to defining themselves as male or non-binary. That self-definition alllows them to escape the pull towards a sexualised unrealism and live happily within their material reality.

Ironically, they need to embrace an illusion in order to be able to live within their grounded and real bodies.

The defendant is 21 but the incident happened "a number of years ago", so they were a teenager at the time. Those photos might be more recent.

Seriously, come on, he looks like the German from the League of Gentleman, how could he not know he was a man? Also how could he think ‘she’ was pregnant if there was no touching below the waist? I’m guessing the victim has some sort of learning disability?

Chersfrozenface · 21/08/2025 07:22

Why? He might believe that some women refuse to have PIV sex or any genital contact once they're pregnant. If so, he might be right. Look at places like Reddit and see how many "Can I have sex when I'm pregnant?" questions there are.

As @yetanotherusernameAgain points out the defendant was a teenager (likely) at the time. For the man this may have been their first real life sexual experience with a 'woman' for him? Some pp have made great observations about fake appearances through surgery, make up or image manipulation. This is a very sad story of our times.

Bluebootsgreenboots · 21/08/2025 07:35

The defendant had concealed from the man that she had a penis, during their brief relationship,' Mr Reid told the jury.
It sounds like Mr Reid has been watching Ricky Gervais.

Sarah2891 · 21/08/2025 07:40

The photo that shows up in this thread just looks like a lot of women these days with the huge inflated lips. I wouldn't automatically think man from that.

But anyway, it's completely wrong to not tell someone.

Igmum · 21/08/2025 07:44

It was also at the TiM’s house so possibly low lighting, limited opportunities to see him walk, add in a naive and inexperienced teenager. There has been discussion amongst TRAs that the courts should do away with the offence of sex by deception. I hope this judge throws the book at him. If the victim really was an innocent young teenager just think of the impact on him.

Why is this? I’ve seen this given as a reason for not clicking through on a few threads. Is it a very bad site for pop ups or is it political squeamishness?

Seainasive · 21/08/2025 07:51

I’m so confused. Isn’t a transgender woman a transman?
