Scottish Greens being sexist again

With Sparkles no longer a member other male Scottish Greens have had to step up to continue their terrible reputation. They are doing their bit.

Scottish Greens council candidate claimed JK Rowling was a Holocaust denier and said trans rapist Isla Bryson was a woman
Exclusive: Eryn Browning has been chosen by the Scottish Greens to contest a by-election in Clydebank Waterfront but offensive historic posts have resurfaced.

There is hope the Scottish Greens might plunge into civil war after their conference. Patrick Harvie is standing down as leader but Slater is standing again and there is opposition over her elitist behaviour.

Are you thinking of STV - single transferable vote - rather than AMS -additional member system? Former for councils ranks candidates in a list. Latter is one each for constituency and region. Just one vote for each.

Ah right, thanks. I'm still traumatised by the year we got council elections and Scottish government elections on the same day. 😂

Waiting for the Scottish greens to start summarily issuing stolen stolen land acknowledgements from the Mesolithic hunter gatherer peoples before every conference

Christ on a bike! I wouldn’t leave this woman in charge of organising an office coffee rota never mind elect her to parliament. She has no understanding of human nature at all if she thinks that rehabilitation of offenders would suddenly work better if we abolished prisons.

fromorbit · 07/04/2026 06:13

Scottish Greens are revolting. These people are crazy. :

Green candidates double down on call to abolish prisons

There isn't a single adult left in this party.

guinnessguzzler · 07/04/2026 08:28

Oh it would be brilliant if they ended up with no candidate for the North East list because of their nonsense.

Robin Harper is a really decent man. Him and Andy Wightman leaving the Greens tells you what you need to know; neither would have done that lightly. They really are unsalvagable.

SinnerBoy · 07/04/2026 09:04

Abolish prisons? I'm lost for words.

TWETMIRF · 07/04/2026 09:21

Yes, it absolutely makes sense for the likes of that Tiffany/Obi Wan Kenobi etc fella that died last year to have been out on the streets and not in prison. Delicate little flower that he was.

Just adding to that article. Seems we have faultline developing. Heather Herbert and Sophie Weddell have rejoined in support of Chapman, while another two trans-identifying males are supporting Guy Ingerson.

The Scottish Greens are now so mad we need another word. Maybe its going to become genericised. 'What an utter Green', 'he's gone full Scotsgreen'.

Whenever I see non-carceral activism, I never see viable solutions suggested. It is such an extremist position that is bonkers thinking.

Didnt we have a poster once tell us that the Ayn Rand philosophy was the way to go?

Recently found guilty for AI CSA images Amelia is on team Maggie, it seems.

Didn't a judge in Scotland recently given a man convicted of rape a non custodial sentence on the grounds he was "only 25 and his brain was still developing"?

Did she support that? His victim was 13 and said she's terrified knowing he's still out and about

Astonishingly, that's the guidelines of the Scottish Sentencing Council -

Which has lead to rapists who are under 25 being given unpaid work rather than being jailed -

Would this theory come under criminology or political science or legal theory or sociology?

TWETMIRF · 07/04/2026 18:07

Under 25 is too young to understand right from wrong but not to be able to consent to sterilisation for wanting to play with the 'wrong' toys

Esme Houston organised the "Trans wrath" mob in Aberdeen in July 2023 which harassed a WWW pro-woman rally in Duthie Park and someone ended up punching a woman in the face. Posters for the "Trans wrath" event even suggested it was connected to a violent demon/witch hunting game series. [Sparkles is a friend of Houston and was also in the mob I believe.]

I went to a hustings this week where Kate was on the panel. FWS came up in the questions, and she said she was at Trans Pride last week (of course she was) and that danger to women is not down to gender but from the right wing Confused. Given her stated background in VAWG I find this rather surprising... Oh, and Stonewall and Trans Alliance are wonderful organisations, apparently!
