The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

They've removed/banned/blocked anyone who might have warned them about it, so they're leaving themselves open to it with no voices of dissent or caution allowed.

So others joining won't see all this?

Someone in the Plymouth group complained about this organisation as they don't accept TW.
He went on to say it's anti trans.

New post about Sarah Jane Baker in the London chat. Will probably be deleted before many women get to read it.

TigerLily40 · 15/01/2025 22:35

Is he actually a guest speaker?

TigerLily40 · 15/01/2025 22:41

I have let the abortion rights organisation that is in London aware of the situation as they are guest speakers too.

He's got a nerve.
He's been campaigning for this man this week, thinks he should be in a women's prison.

Another trans identified male person is going in at great length about legal weapons, rape alarms and some idiot woman is explaining how to gouge out your rapists eyeballs.

I read that and know that it’s being used as masturbationaty aids by unsavoury males who are in the chat for that purpose.

am I a cynic or are these women stupid?

I saw that. There is absolutely no way that bloke needs these things he is totally fetishising. As someone who was kidnapped by a stranger who was a spree rapist whose serving an indefinite jail term it makes me sick 🤢 these women are idiots.

ArabellaScott · 16/01/2025 07:27

Horrendous, SoOpenMinded, I'm so sorry.

WhoPutTheBomp · 16/01/2025 07:36

It made me boak (sorry I have not been around, I am unwell at the moment)

Seriestwo · 16/01/2025 09:47

Open minded, that is where these women do so much harm. Their naivite is not neutral.

I hope you feel that you got justice.

I still think there's something slightly 'Stockholm Syndrome adjacent' attached to these women.

They get a lot of attention from these men. And, of course, they know they are men, because they're not seeking the same attention from women.

They're flattered. And the more abject they make themselves, the more invested they become.

well
the WI have finally seen the light and severed their involvement and promotion of the marches to their members .

I hope they learn a valuable lesson and that heads roll too .

Really? Did they make a statement or something? How embarrassing for them.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/01/2025 11:26

Wow, any links?

I was about to say, you'd think the WI would know better. I know they've been infiltrated. You'd think, given they are about women, for women, by women, etc, and have been around for decades, they would understand.

But I guess, a lot of people have been duped. Why should they be any different.

It does seem rather basic though. If you make an all woman space or provision open to certain men, have a quick think about the sort of men who might want to join.

'While we continue to wholeheartedly support the principles and asks underpinning this grassroots movement, the NFWI has taken the decision not to attend this weekend’s women’s marches. As a campaigning charity, we keep all events and initiatives under constant review, and at any event where we have a formal presence, we will always ensure that the nature, safety arrangements and overall messaging of an event is in line with our own organisational position. These factors are often not simply linked to the event itself and its official objectives but also encompass an assessment of any activities or wider context that risks obscuring or changing the message and tone.
Members will be aware that we have made similar decisions about our participation in other national events in the past leading to us withdrawing or rescheduling where we feel involvement is no longer in the best interests of the WI or its members. We are always sorry to have to make decisions of this nature and saddened when anything gets in the way of members engaging in genuine and legitimate campaigning activities, and we appreciate many members may be disappointed.
We have reasserted our commitment to the organisers and we reaffirm their statement calling for urgent action to protect women’s rights from multiple threats, here in the UK and globally. While we will not be present at the marches on Saturday, we are urging our members to stand in solidarity with women in the UK and worldwide by supporting our ongoing work to end violence against women and girls.'
