The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

These women have been putting details of their travel plans, disabilities, children and actual fucking phone numbers on the chat for violent criminals to see.@ It would be funny if it wasn’t so scary.

A transwoman in the comments on this one calls for feminists to 'eradicate the terfs'. (He also says that he was punched and pushed out of the march, which seems odd as it's three days until the marches happen).

I hope women attending these marches understand what it is they're marching for.

Joking aside the whole thing is upsetting and worrying. To kick vulnerable women in the teeth just to grovel at the feet of a violent angry man? How can they not see what they are championing in the name of liberal inclusivity? How can they not see?

Wow. He literally just told everyone he was anxious and scared to go out, and said he felt unsafe and that he would have to leave the group and not attend. Women were talking about being victims of abuse and he made it all about him.

A couple of women dared to stand up and say something and amazingly they haven't been kicked out yet. Nobody will answer the questions and one woman has called it transphobic. They have said the valid questions asked are "bickering". Admins are saying we can't stop who attends and to stop talking about it. A woman questioning the centering or men has been accused of racism for using the world lynch mob. Classic deflection.

That violent man above said the toilet sign was mentioned because if it wasn't mentioned it could push people away and it's important to clarify things. When someone said surely the same should be done for violent people it was called transphobic.

I feel sorry for some of the girls and women going I really do. This march has been picked up by Andy NGO and it's being ridiculed (not for this reason tho). I can only imagine watching women fawn over SJB will peak quite a few so hoping it does go ahead.

I'm really shocked by this latest development. Bad enough they were trying to get that cabaret bloke who shouted abuse at women to take part in the Glasgow march (now cancelled), they've now invited into the chat and to the London march a convicted criminal who is a violent, torturing, sexual predator???? What is wrong with these people?!

I'm absolutely appalled by this.

The removal of this reply is shocking. It's unbelievable that are happy to deny women the information about who is on the march. If they are confident that women will support this, let them make their own minds up.

The bullshit only works if you work hard to keep anyone from asking questions or talking.

Before I knew SJB was attending I thought they'd just be a bunch of people making feminists look a bit daft; I am now genuinely concerned that children/unsuspecting women/vulnerable people may be exposed to harm.

It's absolutely awful. Vulnerable women and children should not be exposed to this nor put anywhere near someone as violent as SJB.

They've removed/banned/blocked anyone who might have warned them about it, so they're leaving themselves open to it with no voices of dissent or caution allowed.
