The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

Thank you for the info. That is a bit of shame and I do think the title is a bit misleading even if the aims of the million women's march are laudable.

You can just imagine the BBC/Grauniad coverage of a Malaga Day Out.

Can I ask a favour ? I am looking for screenshots of the potential threats made against GC women in the context of these marches . A pp mentioned the “belting one “ doing the rounds on twitter . Any screenshots available of this or others ?

Yes that one but since I am now communicating and will need to show proof to NFWI with names of organisers clearly shown , could you pm me the unredacted photo . Late in the day the WI have got on board with this march ( probably because everyone else was dropping out )

National federation of Women's institutes put a letter out yesterday to be circulated to all members encouraging its members to attend marches around the country .

Having read through the whole of this thread now and the disaray of the organisation that has gone on, why the WI is supporting it at the last moment is beyond me , it’s clear that the Socialist Worker are involved too ( at least in London ) maybe they came on when the Women’s party pulled out ? ( read they had the original idea before that org was disbanded ? )

I think women should ignore all marches that don't know what a woman is. Even protesting at them publicises them

Socialist Worker has published a couple of articles about the march. It's the paper of The Socialist Workers Party which is TWAW.

The paper for the Communist Party of Great Britain is the Morning Star. The Communist Party hasn't fallen for gender ideology which makes sense as communism is based on dialectical materialism so not prone to any kind of woo.
