Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

That's a different march that takes place every year around International Women's Day, I think. There have been threads about it before, as it is reasonably terfy.

Sorry I was talking about the Million Women March. The biological women bit seems to have gone 🙄 They are now basically pleading with people to stick to the message about children and doing their very best to be kind whilst not caving, but it will obviously only be a matter of time now.
I am so bored of these deranged idiots.

Yeah on X they seem to be getting some flack for it but are sticking to their guns. I am helping organise one and won't be caving. We don't want the message getting lost here as it is so important.
Obviously we can't stop anyone from attending but how hard is it to respect that the million women march is just strictly women and children marching?

FarriersGirl · 09/01/2025 10:27

@TigerLily40 Yes the million women march but I would be going to the London one.

Someone posted about the possibility of separate areas for men, as otherwise there was a risk of excluding those women who would feel vulnerable with men there. The possibility has been dismissed, called segregation and it looks like the woman who raised it has been chucked out of the group. They're prioritising men at the expense of women and can't acknowledge why some women could feel unsafe -as that would be acknowledging the reality of sex.

They've also dismissed pussy hats as 'not all women have the same body parts'.

They always prioritise men over women. Awful. It's all about men and their needs whilst shoving women to the side.

Their suggestion for women who weren't happy with marching with men was to segregate them and find a spot for them somewhere away from it all - wtf?
At least the million women march is just for biological women only and women can even protest against puberty blockers etc...

Great 😃 They are all very organised and are actually prioritising women especially those who can be triggered by males and who may feel uneasy. Finally a group that prioritises women.

Of course…

From what I've seen on FB, trans activists and their supporters were deliberately trying to cause trouble. They haven't changed their stance, but they are trying not to let that debate overshadow their message about children. The organiser is a gender critical woman.

I'm planning on going to that one too, I'll be in London that week.

Exactly and that is what happened to the UK Women's March. Their message got lost.

You're right about it being impossible to stop non-biological-women from showing up, especially as they will no doubt be making a big effort to take part and be seen to take part🙄

Remember the 'XX day' on 10th October? Maybe the XX symbol and gesture could be used on this march to assert who it is supposed to be for and about.

TigerLily40 · 10/01/2025 18:00

The UK women's march team have a trans flag first...

The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.
cariadlet · 10/01/2025 21:02

There are going to be Terfy women at some of the "women's marches" but I don't think anything's being shared publicly at the moment.

Looks like they can't recruit enough volunteers, funny that? 😜

How can they still need this super basic stuff when they're only a couple of months away? That reads as really disorganised

What? I thought I'd was February! They're absolutely screwed if this basic stuff isn't sorted for next week

cariadlet · 10/01/2025 22:13

18th Jan. Still fundraising and recruiting. 🤣🤣🤣

PonyPatter44 · 10/01/2025 22:14

They still need all the "super basic stuff" because they alienated all the practical old women who have experience with marches and with getting things done. The London March chat is being dominated by some TW twit who can't stop inserting trans issues into every conversation, but isn't doing anything practical to help.
