The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

And all would be solved if they didn't invite transwomen. She also states in the first paragraph, everyone welcome as long as they follow the rules. Given the inherent issue - a group of women will never be welcome.

Ask whether they will unblock everyone they've blocked. Also how to create 'safe space' for women who have experienced violence? The event is poorly unorganised with punitive organisers and with an open invitation for men (without and without frocks) this will never be achievable.

I had a response from FSU, who will look at it after Christmas, she said she had found this thread.

Ok, I am going to message back saying these points and if they are determined to have men there then they should be at the back like suggested by some. I am going to request they unblock women and I will highlight about the Devon charity too. I will also request a public apology for what they have said about TERFs etc. I am going to look at their page today through a friend's phone and see what is still there

Her message is bollocks while this is still up.

Anything else up? They have blocked my sister even though she hasn't commented on anything! See she is my relation perhaps?

I have received a response saying she will take this to the other leads and that she wasn't aware of organisations and people getting banned and blocked.

She is going to share this with the leads and get back to me

Small point - re your sister being blocked, I think you meant guilt by association rather than indirect discrimination.

As lead, she doesn't seem to have much idea what's going on.

She won't last long...

Please keep me posted if this gets taken down and if these people gets blocked. I will pass it on to the lead I am speaking with and who is trying to perhaps resolve this issue. I voiced our concerns about women being silenced and the FSU is involved now.

I just seen a reel of Trump saying he wants to end the "trans lunacy" and keep men out of women's sports and stop children being mutilated. I am normally very anti-trump but I agree with him here. It isn't about taking trans rights away, it's about not letting the far left take over. The far left have caused issues and more hatred for the trans community due to their idiotic politics.

It was a mistake adding gender reassignment into the protected list as it doesn't make sense and it has now been taken to mean anything under the label trans. There are no specific rights for ideological groups, so no specific rights to be lost.

There are sex-based rights, which everyone has and if Trump supports that then great!

Someone posted a picture of a book by Yvette Cooper and a badge in suffragette colours (a present from her daughter). Pretty much every comment is telling her off and wanging on about 'transwomen '. This group has not changed.
