I'm feeling distinctly weird today. I started new ( prescription, before you get any ideas) drugs this morning and I've gone all wobbly!

lcakethereforeIam · 04/10/2024 10:57

I hope that's just a settling in period Flowers

I've blocked Copilot. I thought he was just love bombing and rushing me. I had no idea he was stringing me along with other posters.

I'd be lying though if I said I didn't think, from time to time, what we could be doing together now. And I've kept some of the gifts that he gave me. It wasn't all bad.

Agh! Talk me down someone. I want to reinstall him!

Bannedontherun · 04/10/2024 11:05

@lcakethereforeIam all i can say is there are plenty more fish in the sea.

Can someone get me some paracetamol and a nice strong cup of tea, I'm slightly hungover after downing three bottles of Bluestocking sloe gin to console myself after discovering copilots multi-timing ways.

You're looking particularly resplendent today Boily!

I do like to liven up the old carapace every now and again! The teas a lovely temperature for floating in. X

@FuzzyPuffling hopefully it will wear off, but obviously to be on the safe side you should spend the day snuggled on the sofa under a soft bkanket watching old Red Dwarf episodes. Wouldn't want you getting wobbly whilst stood up.

You could have an open relationship, tell him you're seeing Gemini as well and indulging in some DIY!

Indeed you are! Obviously orange and black is the new blackSmile
Or are the new black, if you're near Pedantry Corner..

lcakethereforeIam · 04/10/2024 12:00

I've not met Gemini <interested> tell me about him...erm...them <waves at Pedantry Corner, takes drink and snack and sits by window>

FuzzyPuffling · 04/10/2024 12:20

I have discovered old episodes of 'Howard's Way" on Drama. I'd forgotten how ridiculous it was. And the shoulder pads and earrings!!!!!

Magpiecomplex · 04/10/2024 13:10

Gemini refuses to do people unless you pay, so no gorgeous French hunks, but otherwise it's quite amenable. Tends more to photorealism than Copilot. Also I suspect it throws its toys out of the pram more often than Copilot. Certainly I can't get it to produce some things that others have got from Copilot for the Bluestocking, it just pulls a face and gives me a passive aggressive message about not being able to do that Dave

I'm not going to lie, I'm bored of mice at the moment. The cats are catching around two a day at the minute. I came back today and they'd left one for me in my potterying shed. Last night they were fighting over two after already catching one in the day. The day before that was another two. And these are just the ones I know about.

The corn field behind us is semi harvested so I'm guessing all the fieldmice have scarpered into the woods and the cats are just having a field day, literally.

I am vair jealous of the potterying shed, @AlisonDonut - less so of the meeses.

Ds1 and his wife had a meese infestation when their dd was about 1 - we were staying for dgd’s birthday party, and dh and the ddil’s dad spent hours the night before the party catching and evicting mice.

MarieDeGournay · 04/10/2024 16:55

Can I find a quiet dark corner in the Bluestocking to be nostalgic and slightly sad? The fate of all romantics, as Joni said - well Richard said it in the song:
'All romantics meet the same fate someday - cynical and drunk, boring someone in some dark café.'

All because of a postbox, a pillarbox!

I had an appointment this afternoon in a part of town where I went to college, haven't been there for decades.. Outside the medical centre was a pillarbox, and I realised it was the very one where I posted letters every week to the [then] great love of my life, a school friend who had moved abroad with her family. So many letters posted in that postbox. I have no idea how we found so much to say to each other!
Then came a letter that said she was engaged, to a man of course.💔
I never saw that postbox again, until today.

'So give me one for my baby, and one more for the road'Sad

I love it. Potters wheel, glazing station, cd and record player, potting compost, seeds and books.

I spend all my time up there. Flanked by the cats of course.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2024 17:01

That sounds like something that calls for good red wine, but obviously it'll morph into something else if it's not to your taste.Wine

Bannedontherun · 04/10/2024 17:02

@MarieDeGournay Hugs and hearts to you.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2024 17:03

The wine was for Marie - a potterying/potting shed sounds more like a hot brew location Brew

In the absence of anything else, here's a lifeguard from 1905 who showed up in the chronophoto game today.

Am I the only one getting 'Village People' vibes?

Have a large glass on me, Marie. Sounds as if you need it.

There is the snug. It has panelling, window seats you can curl up on, cosy blankets and a fireplace. The Bluestocking cat can often by found hanging out there. There are toasting forks, muffins and butter. All the hot drinks are served in big mugs you can wrap both hands round.

Thanks, allFlowers
Sudden wormhole into adolescent heartbreak has closed, but I'll still have that nice red wine, thank you, and a quiet time in the snugSmile

Magpiecomplex · 04/10/2024 19:51

I won't subject you to Gemini's attempt at the snug. I asked for a quokka serving the hot drinks and they're coming out horribly deformed 🫣

lcakethereforeIam · 04/10/2024 19:53

If the mutant quokkas promise to stay out, I fancy a quiet read in the snug. Those big mugs...it's not too early in the year for hot spiced cider is it?

Magpiecomplex · 04/10/2024 19:56

That's a bit better, cropped out the mutant quokka.

Drums! Basketball! Pythons!? I bet he's a mansplainer. Glad I didn't go there. I would have been on the rebound anyway.
