The Bluestocking is reopening

It's time we reopened the Bluestocking, I think.

This is the FWR pub, situated in the charming village of Badley Fuckitt near the Shady Pines rest home. It has a cannon (for reasons lost in the mists of time), goats in the paddock next to the beer garden and a menu including many soups and cakes. It's open all hours, serving breakfast and tea to all weary women, in addition to being the ideal location to metaphorically drown your sorrows.

For the cake fiends, I'm rather pleased with how my Strawberry Cake turned out. Really wishing there was custard about (and I can't be arsed making custard from scratch tonight). Is there custard on the menu in the Bluestocking?

My sister and I can both wiggle ours toes, but hers are more finger-like. We always said she had "Flumps feet". I can pick things off the floor with mine, now. Saves a lot of bending.

I travelled for 2 days and then had 2 days recovery/shopping and you've all gone mad.

Anyway, I scouted out the mature cheddar options for our large cheese purchase on Saturday morning to take back to France and let's just say we are cock a hoop.

On another note, I was checking out the cat treats options to bring back for the gang in the garden and happened upon one called 'bonkers' which had a Boiled Beetleesque AI cat doing a cartwheel on the packet...before I go Bonkers and buy a load has anyone's cats tried and liked them?

Yep, lick e lix is eye-watering, and I've got 3 of the greedy gits wanting at least a pack a day. Ouch.

The cats we had when I was a teenager liked cheddar, @DeanElderberry. My dad used to take biscuits and cheese to bed every night, and he used to cut some cheese specially for the cats, and line the bits up on the side of his plate.

CatBastard likes cheese, and is also fond of a bit of prawn cracker.

Girlcat loves my carrot and lentil soup. She would like to be a human.

Our cats go mad for cheese.

Unless it's blue, then they leave well alone.

One of our old cats knew the word 'cheese'. We had to say 'C.H.' instead, otherwise she'd be there in front of us, begging.😸
