The question asked in Thread 1 has still not been answered satisfactorily, and so the quest continues to discover which side of the fence Tunnocks are on or whether they are in fact sat atop the fence throwing Snowballls and Tea cakes at both sides.

I have no idea where the link below will send you. hopefully to the original thread and at the start, but it could be a completely different thread half way through. I'm too full of sugar to concentrate properly!

The Tunnocks that Tunnocks sent are very nice so the ones I had a while ago must have been a dodgy batch. I feel very relieved.

I'm still wondering how to do a Tunnocks cheesecake. Maybe I could do some kind of Tunnocks pudding for Christmas.

I'm currently tea cakeless and caramel waferless! Wednesday afternoons are the worst! Supplies replenished tomorrow's! Yay!

Could you cut caramel wafers up thinly. Then break the slices up! Then bash the whole lot with a rolling pin to make the base? Then sprinkle bits on the top when your done?

Had to share this! Tunnocks on RAF no-fly list!! I really really want to try it! Can you imagine? A HUGE tea cake!!

In 1953 the foil-wrapped treats appeared in RAF ration packs, pilots began to notice that as altitude increased, the teacakes expanded. At 15,000 feet, the marshmallow interior cracked the chocolate shell.

Air crews removed the teacakes from their silver foil packaging and perched them around the cabin for observation. The aerated marshmallow continued to swell as pressure changed, and the sweets became too big to eat in one bite.

Many noted that, despite the extreme physical effects, the expansion didn’t compromise the taste.
But the expanding teacakes’ fame was short-lived. After a period of marshmallow fever aboard the V-Bombers departing from Gaydon air base, an explosion put a stop to the fun.
During the summer of 1965, a captain and student pilot forgot they had placed unwrapped teacakes above their instrument panels. When the captain pulled an emergency depressurizing switch during a training mission, the treats erupted. Shards of chocolate and marshmallow hit the windshield, flight controls, and the mens’ uniforms.

I'll know someone who worked on the Vulcan bombers, he (to his eternal regret) missed out on the chance of flying in one though. I'll have to ask him about this. He tells a good story about leaving the heads of reedmace to ripen in an office over a warm weekend, but that's totally pipped by the explosive Tunnock!

FFS! I'm missing an important Team's Meeting coz I'm watching a bloody Tunnocks Tea cake in space!

Watch it while getting Alexa to play Fanfare for the Common Man, it adds to the majesty.

I wonder if the glinting foil could be seen from the ground?

@DinoDays - I saw that story on FB, and was coming to post it on this thread, but I see I have been beaten to it.

I would have posted it yesterday, but we were travelling from Scotland to Suffolk to see ds1, our dil, and dgd, and it was an eventful journey. First we found a dog running loose in the fast lane of the M74 - we managed to catch her, and pulled off the motorway to ring the council, and ended up taking her to the SSPCA shelter. She was an absolute sweetheart, and if she hadn’t been claimed, we were going to adopt her - but her people found her and claimed her.

Then we got to Leeming Bar, and the car broke down - it claimed that the engine temp was over 120, and went into limp mode, but dh thought it was a thermostat sensor failure (because when he opened the bonnet, the engine was only normally hot), and a wonderful RAC man agreed with him, located the right part, went and fetched it, and got us back on the road - but with all the delays, a journey that normally takes 8 hours, with a stop for lunch (at Mainsgill Farmshop on the A66 - if you are ever near there, I heartily recommend them - their food is delicious, and they have camels) ended up taking 13 hours!

Really must get cracking on the Tunnocks tree decorations! Damn, THAT'S what I needed the glue gun for! Knew there was something! I'll get it from mum's in Sunday and make her some too. DS is not so secretly filling the tin he's bought me for Christmas with caramel wafers. I'm raising him right 🥰

I went shopping yesterday for the last few Christmas presents. I may have accidentally bought myself a little something... A notebook with Velcro dinosaurs on the cover. I will admit spending quite a bit of time yesterday moving them around!

I can see a Triceratops, a Stegosaurus, but which one's the Terfosaurus?

That would be me! But i don't come in a Velcro sticker version
