The question asked in Thread 1 has still not been answered satisfactorily, and so the quest continues to discover which side of the fence Tunnocks are on or whether they are in fact sat atop the fence throwing Snowballls and Tea cakes at both sides.

I have no idea where the link below will send you. hopefully to the original thread and at the start, but it could be a completely different thread half way through. I'm too full of sugar to concentrate properly!

I went to Japan a few years back and came back with THREE CARRIER BAGS of different flavoured KitKats. I was a heroine to my nephews and a lunatic to my colleagues ("But WHY would you buy mushroom flavoured KitKats?"). The wasabi ones are actually really nice.

Apologies. Now back to Tunnocks, the one true path.

PonyPatter44 · 16/08/2023 20:12

My manager brought boxes of Tunnocks teacakes to our team meeting this morning. He is a true ally!

LarkLaane · 16/08/2023 20:50

Here for your crumbs of (Tunnocks) wisdom.

Boiledbeetle · 16/08/2023 20:55

My inner sloth is preventing me from doing anything. I've exerted all my energy on printing off a copy of all the poems. I just need some red pens now, plus the will which is seriously lacking right now.

I need tea cakes but I'm in the 9-10pm delivery slot! I'd better be more towards the 9 than the 10!

@SqueakyDinosaur wasabi flavour? 😣 my mouth is going blghh, my brain is going try it try it!

@PonyPatter44 boxes? As in plural?

@LarkLaane currently haven't even got crumbs of a tea cake. I could have ANOTHER caramel wafer, but I'm saving myself.

goes off to check I've actually got some tea cakes coming with my emergency tobacco shop, and that i haven't put them in with tomorrow's actual shop shop.

Boiledbeetle · 16/08/2023 21:04

Double joy! I have tea cakes due within the hour and tea cakes AND caramel wafers tomorrow.

I will interrogate them all! Eventually one of the blighters will succumb to the torture and spill the beans on the political leanings of those in the higher echelons of T Tunnock Ltd!

Tunnocks are Tories and proud donors, they also treat their staff like shit. COVID monitors employed solely to watch employees to ensure social distancing was obeyed and hand washing for designated time. Requiring staff to keep short nails...but asking team leaders to monitor nail length on a regular basis and losing the shift if they think you've grown them too long. Awful company.

Imagine, a food production company insisting on hygiene.

Whatever next.

Bridgingthefeckingmassivegap · 16/08/2023 21:21

It's going beyond insisting on hygiene, it's treating people like they're in a Victorian work house. You can maintain hygiene standards without putting, often women, into financial hardship when they are already frequently on zero hours contracts anyway. Smaller scale but run similarly to Amazon and Sports Direct etc, which I can't support.

Checks recent empty boxs of Tunnocks to see if I missed any hidden notes from staff begging for help...

It will take a while, there's a lot of boxes...

Nope! No help us we are overworked, underpaid, and have had our fingernails removed messages.

I'm also fairly sure that tea cakes can't vote and so whilst the tea cakes may identify as Tory, it won't stop me eating the little globes of loveliness.

Eats Tunnocks whilst flogging book only available on Amazon.

This is going well!

Drinks anyone?

So, what is the perfect drink to accompany a Tunnocks?

For me, it has to be coffee.

There are two answers:

The perfect drink at mid-afternoon is a seriously strong cup of tea.

The perfect drink at 8pm is a glass of whisky.

I'm going to admit that staggeringly they don't go particularly well with irn bru.

I do like them with a nice cup of strong tea (obviously only one choice in this department) i find the tea to Tunnocks ratio works well.

And you're on your own with the whiskey Jane. Although I think I've got some glava in the cupboard which could substitute I suppose.

I thought it would just be a little box!

Coffee in the morning, Yorkshire tea in the afternoon, Yorkshire tea gin in the evening. Not Yorkshire coffee sadly, I haven’t found a Taylor’s coffee I love yet

WarriorN · 17/08/2023 09:45

I used to really like was it lazy Sunday? Something to with Sundays I'm sure, and a few of the others, but the medication i have to take changed how things taste and I very rarely drink coffee now and I used to live on coffee.

On an actual thread related matter, as I wouldn't want to be accused of starting a thread under false pretenses:

If you were to discover, not by idle gossip or rumours, but with absolute undeniable proof that the manufacturers of our sweet love were, whispers, Tories, or even worse followed government guidelines in the workplace, would you boycott them?

Munches on a caramel wafer whilst pondering this dilemma.

OP posts:
Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 17/08/2023 11:24

Lazy Sunday yes, I quite like it but I like stronger coffee.

If Ringtons were to try and persuade me to defect to their biscuits by providing me with very many free samples I would be happy to. At least until I had finished the free samples. They deliver to one of my neighbours so it would just mean filling the whole van except his order with my samples, not going out of their way.

As to whether I should boycott Tunnocks for following guidelines, I will join you in your pondering and give you an answer in 2098

CervixSampler · 17/08/2023 11:58

Whilst I'm no Tory, they are currently the only party talking sense on women's rights. I have the biggest ick response when I see long nails so Tunnocks hygiène seems spot on to me.

Would it be acceptable to start a go fund me page to replenish my Tunnocks supply? I am skint and in withdrawal. Although I'm off to my mum's later and she has some to the best of my knowledge. I buy packs for her so that the children and I can have some when there. I'll message her now.

CervixSampler · 17/08/2023 12:02

She hasn't got any!!! This is now an emergency situation.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 17/08/2023 12:39

Do I remember correctly that GBBO had making a Tunnock's teacake duplicate as one of the technical challenges one year? I have a vague memory of a lot of sticky goo and chocolate everywhere.

Going back, briefly, to KitKats - did you know that you can bite both ends off a finger of KitKat and use it as a straw for the hot beverage of your choice? It works well with coffee.

Somanyquestionstoaskaboutthis · 17/08/2023 14:48

Erm I’ve just come home to my empty house and there was a teacake on the table which I definitely had not left there. I obviously ate it before thinking about this because it’s a teacake so I would. If one of you put it there thank you but how did you do that? If someone put it there to poison me then it worked. If I’m not back later think the worst.
