As the title says, a million pounds is being offered by Distance Magazine https://www.thedistancemag.com/p/we-will-award-steve-wardlaw-1-million?r=uglk&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

"To win the Steve Wardlaw Prize™, an entrant must demonstrate that the cited statement by J.K. Rowling does not involve a rights conflict. That is, the cited statement must materially detract from the human rights of ‘transgender people’ without simultaneously arguing for the rights of another group, such as women, children, or people with faith traditions."

They've named the prize after Steve Wardlaw who I've never heard of but his pinned tweet is an apology to Alison Bailey

We Will Award Steve Wardlaw £1 Million For The Elusive 'Anti-Trans' J.K. Rowling Quote

He has assured us that it exists

I was told by a young woman a couple of days ago that segregating by biological sex (as in single sex toilets, changing rooms, refuges etc for biological women) is the same as racism in the 50s in USA.
I offered her a copy of Irreversible Damage, after talking about puberty blockers and surgery. She didn't want to read anything written by a transphobe.
Absolutely brainwashed.
This is a a young woman educated to degree level.

@BezMills the Green Party have produced a handy guide for you.

lgbtiqa.greenparty.org.uk/2023/06/15/dogwhistle-guidance/

That was a dreadful read. Some untruths - testosterone tests in sport meaning some black 'cis' women are excluded. That's never happened, but have resulted in identifying a number of participants and intersex with male gametes that have historically participated in female sport.

The suggestion that preferring vagina is transphobic and described as a 'genital preference', rather than a sexuality.

The suggestion that concerns about children and pushback against childhood gender transition is a suggestion that trans people have a sexual interest in children. Rather than proven health concerns relating to transition before adulthood.

I wish that organisations would take some feedback around the word cis and how it is often used as a slur and therefore felt as a slur. I won't use it and am offended if it is used about me against my wishes.

I don't misgender and use preferred pronouns in general (won't call rapists she, that is offensive) so expect the same respect

An theyve managed to make sure that none of the TRAs would be able to claim it even if they find some thing allegedly 'transphobic'. to flip it in a way that i hope nobody agrees with, can you find an example of Tommy robinson being racist or islamaphobic? That is, the cited statement must materially detract from the human rights of ‘black people or muslims’ without simultaneously arguing for the rights of another group, such as women, children, or the white race."

In one of the Potter books, as the kids are growing up, the boys are (magically) no longer able to access the girls' rooms in Hogwarts. As we all know, single sex protection is transphobic as fuck.

I'm going to spend my million on buying racehorses and giving them comedy names.

I always remember that bit with irritation. Hermione can go into the boys dorm room but the boys can't go into the girls. I love JK but I think the girls should not have been able to get into the boys dorm either.

Is there prove money if I argue the case she's sexist?

IcakethereforeIam · 25/08/2023 21:09

But we're told, constantly, that there is no conflict between trans rights and women's rights. Is...is...are you suggesting...that there is?

Ron complains about this in the books and Hermione explains it's because of very old fashioned beliefs that girls were trustworthy and boys weren't.

It reminds me of downton abbey - the door separating the mens and womens corridor (where servants slept) was locked with the key on the women's side.

Tbf to JKR and whoever made downton - women/girls are far more at risk from men/boys going uninvited to their bedrooms compared to the reverse.

So which race does she believe commits nearly all sexual crime? She must believe that for her analogy to work.

The amount of people that come out with this racist bull is astonishing.
