How does one tell the difference between a genuine, and non genuine transwoman?

Sorry my post was unclear I do not believe anyone can change sex.

By genuine transwomen i mean someone who believes they are in the wrong body (I don't believe they are but can sympathise with them being unwell) Rather than someone attending a female only event with his erect penis on show through a latex suit. That person is trying to cause trouble @TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 13/08/2023 10:13

Ms Watson, 31, added: 'Transgender individuals deserve respect. But there is a need for protection of sex-segregated spaces for lesbian women.'

such a reasonable view

how the heck have we got to a place where someone who says that gets 'reported' to her employer, basically for being a lesbian? homophobia never went away, did it?

LlynTegid · 13/08/2023 10:14

I have intentionally not read the link to the Paper that Supported the Blackshirts, so apologies if this has been mentioned.

Are there actually any people born male who want to attend, or is it just someone thinking they are showing how supportive they are to trans people by objecting?

heathspeedwell · 13/08/2023 10:14

One of my best mates is a gay man. He's pretty popular and has a few hook ups a week. Like all my other gay male friends he's very open in saying that what he really likes is dick. There's no way in a million years that he or any of his mates would hook up with a trans man. At a push they might get together with a trans woman, in fact he says some gay men are quite into trans women. But not anyone who doesn't have a dick.

Funny how men are so able to be completely blunt about their preferences but women are expected to be kind and supportive and accommodating. They literally don't think our sexuality matters in the slightest.

I wouldn't go all in on the venue, it's a business. Making pubs reluctant to host is part of the idea. The organisers need to address the issue and they have.

Oh, I mostly agree, and from the article it seems that haven't made a decision yet.

I've emailed to point out that single sex lesbian meetings are perfectly legal under the equalities act, and that forcing lesbians to include men in their dating pool is homophobia, and discrimination. I haven't accused them of doing so, as I don't believe they have, yet.

What I didn't want to happen was fir them to have an onslaught of TRA contact, with nothing to balance it out. If they only hear from TRAs their likely to do what they want. Imo.

You may have "little knowledge and experience" of transmen, but you have zero of gay men if you think they won't be put off by a vagina. All the gay men I know would run a mile in the other direction rather than shag a transman.

For reasons I won’t go into, I know quite a lot of gay male paramedics/ambulance crew. If they ever have to deliver a baby they are fighting off vomiting just from having to be that close to a vagina. There’s absolutely no way they would go near one for fun!

CorruptedCauldron · 13/08/2023 10:19

Can women really not have anything to themselves? Shocking - but the sunlight is welcome.

People need words to describe themselves clearly so there’s no confusion. Those words of course already exist but the original meanings have been blurred.

Let’s have some clarity.

Lesbians - women exclusively attracted to women.
Gay people - exclusively same-sex attracted.
Bisexual people - attracted to both men and women.

Those words need to be kept clear for people whose sexuality is based on sex/biology as opposed to being based on gender/identity, which is a social construct.

Those who are same-gender attracted are free to use (and have embraced) the term “queer”, which basically means anything goes. If I saw a sign for a Queer Dating Night I would expect trans people to be included. Not at a “lesbian” event though.

Oddly enough, I don’t think lesbians would mind being excluded from a trans-only event.

Dear lord.

The prefix abro- comes from the Greek word for delicate and graceful.[1]

What the fuck, then they're ridiculous or being hyperbolic to be 'humorous'. Genuinely if someone is that repulsed by genitalia encountered in a healthcare setting then they should find a new job.

DrBlackbird · 13/08/2023 10:21

In a 2019 study, only 3.1% of straight (and non-trans) people were willing to date a trans person.

A summary of the study by the main author (Karen Blair) has this conclusion: We won’t be able to say, as a society, that we are accepting of trans citizens until they are also included within our prospective dating pools; at the very least, on a hypothetical basis.

So, not only must everyone accept that TWAW/TMAM in schools, toilets, hospitals, refuges, prisons, short lists, sport etc but that ‘acceptance’ must also extend to having sex with them.

It is beyond belief that academics such as Karen Blair firstly propagate this thinking and secondly, fail to see how their argument is totalitarian ‘right think’ as well as deeply deeply disturbing.

Who will date a trans person? | Fifteen Eighty Four | Cambridge University Press

In a recent study published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, 87.5% of the participants who were asked this same question only checked off the cisgender options and excluded transgender and non-binary individuals from their hypotheti...

From the article

Ms Watson told The Mail on Sunday: 'Last year, a person turned up sporting a purple latex outfit… and an erection.

'Another time, a trans woman came into the female toilet and pushed their body at a woman who was upset and told me after. It got me thinking that this isn't fair on women.'

This time though it appears the TRA reported her just gif what she’d posted on SM. Unlikely they were even interested in attending they just wanted to cause drama

I get the pub chain doesn’t want the grief from TRA groups but when will this BS end?

OP posts:
Snowypeaks · 13/08/2023 10:37

If she can face it, Jenny Watson should take the pub chain to court. Or at least send a solicitor's letter, quoting Julie Bindel's and Joanna Cherry's cases. We have to show that we will be at least as much of a PITA as the gender zealots and that the law is on our side.

I would add that from little knowledge and experience I have of transmen gay men wouldn’t be put off by a trans man with a vagina.

You need to check out OJ’s response to him being “interested” in a transman. He is a gay man with most definite views about it…
