Actually, may I just say that ANYONE, can refuse to have sex/be in a romantic relationship with any other person for ANY reason or NO reason at all.
Just to be clear, a lesbian doesn't have a penis, but notwithstanding that just saying 'no' is good enough and those who have a penis need to accept that.

This should be a given. I think part of the problem is that increasingly women aren't allowed to say that their no is because that person has a penis/is a male/ is a TW. To do presents an ever increasing risk of the age-old violence and rage of an Entitled Man who is being denied what he wants by a woman. And these days he brings his mates round to harass and give you rape and death threats, too.

But also, it makes me wonder how ridiculous matters have got when this event may have issues, but a gender critical dating event would not, for example. The second would have some measure of legal protection because it would be a group with a belief.

In a world with as many sexual preferences as our alphabet soup, it's a bit rich that it's Not Allowed for people to have a preference that excludes trans identifying people.

You're allowed to exclude women, you're allowed to exclude men (*if you abide by some dodgy rules), you get a special alphabet letter and your very own flag for almost every special way you can think of to identify up to and including pony and rubber kink pride flags, but to say you are only attracted to people who think gender ID is bobbins, or whose gender expression is in alignment with their sex? Absolutely awful, you aren't allowed that.

Does it matter? They are male. Being a lesbian means you are interested in biological women, not a photocopy

This has really really riled me. I work for a stonewall diversity champion, fully captured, no debate.

I've just emailed the group that owns the pub to tell them how outrageous it is that they're 'investigating' a group of people for wishing to exercise their legally protected rights.

I wouldn't go all in on the venue, it's a business. Making pubs reluctant to host is part of the idea. The organisers need to address the issue and they have.
