Depressingly, I saw a woman hounded out of a lesbian meet recently because she ASKED if it would be woken only or if TW would be allowed. She got called all the names and kicked out of the group by a group of lesbians, so there are a number of lesbian only groups who have adopted the idea that womanhood is a feeling. This group welcomed people who ID as non-binary too, so I'm a bit confused about it.

I meant Women* only! Although perhaps in reality it was "woken" women only.

The TRAs targeting this event are disgusting. It’s London and I’m pretty sure there are plenty of alternatives - but no because it’s female only they can’t cope. What do they think is going to happen if they come? Suddenly all the lesbians who are only interested in dating females are going to change their minds. Highly unlikely. If people aren’t interested in dating you get over yourself because you will spend your life being disappointed. Go find events where people are and leave others alone.

Then you don't know many gay men. A friend recently had to gently let down a TM with a crush and was very kind about it, but he's homosexual, he does biological men, with dicks, a female body is never going to work for him any more than a male body is ever going to work for me. I have many dear male friends, I am never going to fancy any of them, regardless of what they identify as.

The reason that we've got increasing waves of twits going 'but I spend my life in LGTB++++ spaces and we allllllll go on identity not sex so allllllll LGBT+ people have got over their nasty homosexuality and it's only you still being mean and weird' is that you pushed out all the homosexuals years ago. These clubs are now just full of bi people with interesting label choices. And we've all sodded off to be homosexual in peace, and are sick to death of rainbows, flags, inappropriate and rapey behaviour in endless forms, utter disrespect for other people and the mad misogyny, homophobia and ageism.

They patrol, monitor and try to stop all lesbian events. It is why they have had to go back underground.

Two lesbians got taken out of an event in 2019. For what you may well ask? For just existing.

Quite, its ridiculous isn't it. Lesbians don't want to date biological men, nothing wrong with that. Therefore biological men being present at a lesbian speed dating event isn't appropriate. It should be so simple.

Their point in targeting lesbian-only events is to destroy leabian-only events. They don't want to date us, they want us to disappear.

Of course it is legal to have these events, we will just destroy you if you do.

Matthew Parris wrote an article a while back about how LGBTQ+ shouldn’t be put together because for gay individuals - women and men - it’s about sexual preferences and for the trans community it’s about gender identity. Those two are very different concepts.
That has really stuck with me.

Actually, may I just say that ANYONE, can refuse to have sex/be in a romantic relationship with any other person for ANY reason or NO reason at all.
Just to be clear, a lesbian doesn't have a penis, but notwithstanding that just saying 'no' is good enough and those who have a penis need to accept that.

Personally I am annoyed because I missed this event.

But also, it makes me wonder how ridiculous matters have got when this event may have issues, but a gender critical dating event would not, for example. The second would have some measure of legal protection because it would be a group with a belief.

This is part of the issue; sexuality is not a belief, attraction is not, yet being a lesbian can be redefined socially however, a gender critical lesbian could run an event, subject to the fact that presumably a group of trans activists would be outside protesting.

Also, gay men do not like fannies and to suggest that they do is homophobia.

I think there's room for more nuance between losing a limb because you're so sure no gay man would have a problem with sleeping with somebody who has a vulva, and calling gay men who do so, bisexual.

Lesbians and gay men holding their breath and sleeping with somebody of the opposite sex isn't new. Sometimes it's about not coming to terms with your sexuality yet, and sometimes (particularly historically) it's unsafe to be openly homosexual so you do what society expects of you to try to fit in. I don't think those people are any less homosexual than those who have been able to be clear and open and only sleep with same sex from the word go. Life is more messy and nuanced than that.

I think one of the modern challenges is that a lot of people want to #BeKind, and that includes homosexual people. I imagine a higher % of LGB people are politically Left wing, and there is a lot of pressure from, well, everywhere but the political Left for sure, to accept TWAW and TMAM. I'm fairly sure those who include trans identifying people may be doingvmental gymnastics to override their natural ick about it, and I don't think it necessarily makes them bi.

Of course I do think there will be a much higher % of lesbians who are trying to #BeKind and incur trans identifying people than of gay men, because women are raised to be kind, accommodate, put others first way more than men are.
