Well done to the hotel staff. ‘trans ‘woman’ given key to the unisex changing room instead of the female changing room ‘trans woman’ not happy.

I'm a little uncomfortable at the poking of Anna, many posters will have been where she is now and helping posters up the mountain is much better.

DeanElderberry · 26/07/2023 16:40

Anna didn't really help herself by coming into a discussion about swimming-pool changing rooms and trying to shift the subject to bathrooms. A different, albeit related, argument.

People don't get naked in public loos, which is one reason there are attempts to say there's scope for nuance (not convinced myself). There really is none in this case.

BonfireLady · 26/07/2023 16:43

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that the press picks up the added twist in the tale that Anne has been walking around the female changing facilities as a swimming official with young girls present who are undressed at the British Swimming Championships. With Sharron Davies already indirectly involved in the conversation (via the original hotel incident - well done to the lady in the Mercure!), this has the potential to get very big.

Anne could well be the next Isla Bryson style poster child, known across the British public.

It's a gift for any journalist to ask Keir Starmer or Annaliese Dodds on camera if they believe Anne is a woman. Hot off the heels of rapist-gender we've got swimmer-gender. Lia Thomas was college level swimming in the US. This is the British Championships at a time when Labour is under the spotlight on this.

I agree. It takes a long time to get through all the layers of nuance.
I remember feeling very nervous the first time I ever posted on this board.
I also remember feeling very unsure what to do the first time I found myself tangled up in a difficult conversation where I was being challenged on stuff.
Hope you're still there Anna.

Quite how a person could have a cervix without ever having had a womb is a great puzzle to me. Or, how would a surgeon construct a cervix? From what?

You could ask David Lammy, who believes that cervixes can be constructed from "hormones and things". The same David Lammy who called women "rights-hoarding dinosaurs".

David Lammy may have heard of males taking cross sex hormones and developing more breast tissue.

Perhaps he thinks if they take enough cross sex hormones they'll develop other lady bits.

If so, he really is an ignoramus.

Anna was quite happy to share her homophobic views around how seeing gay people kissing is likely to make kids gay on another thread I was on.

I imagine her brand of TRA is the whole "its better to be a trans woman than a gay man" given her opinions on gay "deviants"

ouch, went and looked and that is disturbing.

Just you get a sense about these things as they happen don’t you

Well, no.

Obviously there are some men who just give off a dodgy vibe. But, when you consider that the majority of rapes is by a man known to the woman, it's fairly obvious that there really isn't a way of telling. However much we think we can.

Indeed, many women fall in love with and marry the man who ends up raping and abusing them precisely because they don't have 'nasty piece of work' tattooed across their forehead.

And the man in question is already violating women's boundaries. He does have the tattoo.

Datun · 27/07/2023 00:30

Also Annaishere, you might want to take a look Ray Blanchard's typology. He has studied transexuals for 30 years and loosely divided the men into two groups.

Very briefly. The first is HSTS, standing for homosexual transexuals. And the second is autogynephiles (AGP).

He characterises AGP as generally late transitioning, heterosexual men with a fetish, manifesting as being attracted to the idea of themselves as a woman (hence the overwhelming need for validation).

I don’t have anything against gay people at all. But I think it’s strange the government are pushing it on children in schools as well as transexuality. We’re already at the stage we’re not supposed to talk about it.I think there’s something going on and you’re conditioned to call me homophobic for questioning it

Annaishere · 27/07/2023 02:21

I'm autistic. I was eight when I was sexually assaulted by two older boys in a school changing room. I didn't "get a sense" that they were going to grope my cunt and discuss the feel of my pubic hair until they were stood hemming me in so that I could not escape.

Not everyone "gets a sense about these things" and frankly women and girls deserve better than having to be hypervigilant when getting changed. Never mind "we just want to pee", we women and girls born with actual cunts just want to get changed safely. These reasons are why changing rooms should be single occupant with locking doors or single sex.

I'm not conditioned to call you homophobic, you are homophobic. You have been told you are by multiple posters, and had your particularly homophobic posts deleted by MN.

And honestly I find the attitude that you dont care about straight men getting access to watch women get changed, but that gay boys kissing needs to be hidden from society in case they infect others with their gayness to be abhorrent.

You are willing to sacrifice other women to "be kind" so long as they are being kind to straight men. But not the "deviants guys who according to you choose to be gay and could be straight if they just tried hard enough. Apparently your "be kind" and "be balanced" doesn't apply to them.

So, this adult male 'transperson' is a swimming official and in changing rooms with young girls. Without their consent or their parents knowledge - a serious safeguarding breach.

What can we do about it?

Email Swim England? Sharron Davies?

dimorphism · 27/07/2023 08:11

How can we stand up for and protect all those poor girls being thrown under the bus for the sake of an adult male fantasy?

That's poor, I really do need to get a Twitter (x?) Account it seems.

Honestly the whole thing makes me glad my daughter gave up swimming.

Though her swim club were extremely good on safeguarding including same sex adult supervision in changing rooms. I don't think they'd have been happy with this so I can only assume not everyone involved knew ahead of time, itself a safeguarding failure.

Nellodee · 27/07/2023 08:22

Anna is here reminds me of the posters who were so quick to admonish people for jumping to the conclusion that the husband was the person guilty of familicide in that horrible murder a little while back.

I would agree that it’s statistically a non zero chance that a male who has gone to massive lengths to insert himself into female spaces where women and young girls are getting undressed is not a sex pest and/or paedophilia. I’d probably get deleted if I gave my estimation of the actual probability of that not being the case.

Glittertwins · 27/07/2023 08:23

Our club did not know. The only way to see who the officials are is in the digital programme and even then if we don't know the officials, we wouldn't know who to look for

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 27/07/2023 08:34

*You need to find the inner beryl thread possibly. I'm guessing you don't have children.

My children are not props for men to use in their fantasies - be they sexual or due to mental ill health. The swim coaches who let this happen all need to fired (or their clubs go bustbwhen parents find out and pull their daughters out)*

Coming late to this but please not let's have the 'you probably don't have children so you don't understand' cheap jibes. I'm childfree and I'm outraged by this and the whole wider issue of men in women and children's spaces.

The poster referred to does have children/ a child as well, where as I am also childfree and can still understand why men shouldn't be in a woman's changing room or watching teenage girls get changed. I don't think parental status is really relevant here, as you say it's just a cheap jibe.
