@cgdev has been ordered to pay over £100k in compensation for loss of earnings, injury to feelings and aggravated damages for their high-handed conduct.
Thank-you to everyone who supported my case"

Brilliant. Worth noting that:
The award includes aggravated damages for oppressive and high-handed conduct in the public statements that CGD president Sir Masood Ahmed and vice president Amanda Glassman made...

Yes, I noticed that paragraph!

Tippingadvice · 30/06/2023 17:44

What’s the betting the BBC ignore this. No mention of Denise Fahmy’s ET win.

SinnerBoy · 30/06/2023 17:50

It quite clearly says that they are personally liable but I expect they will misuse development funds to avoid that.

Sorry, I've read the link to the Remedy Judgement, but can't see what you mean. Is it that Masood Ahmed and Amanda Glassman have to pay personally?

Been looking online and not seen it reported anywhere yet.

HandShoe · 30/06/2023 17:53

Excellent news!

ArabeIIaScott · 30/06/2023 17:59

Absolutely bloody brilliant news! Congratulations, Maya, I hope this goes some way towards helping all the shite you've had to go through.

Yes, I've noticed that. They report other ET's, but not that one

ValancyRedfern · 30/06/2023 18:06

Amazing news!!!!

ILikeDungs · 30/06/2023 18:12

Also amusing to see that PinkNews' shenanigans contributed to Maya getting a higher award...all I can say about that is lol.

Hahahahahaha oh yes Pink News, so helpful... Burrrrnn

To be a fly on the wall in their offices right now and listen to the caterwauling

JoodyBlue · 30/06/2023 18:13

Congratulations Maya if you come on to the thread. I imagine also it will be a relief to finally put this personal part of the fight to bed. I can only imagine the strain of it all. Thank you for standing up for what is right. Wishing you very well.

Tippingadvice · 30/06/2023 18:13

I always believed that ETs would be a key factor in turning the tide. We owe a lot to Maya and Allison etc.

There are more ETs to come, including Jo Phoenix and Rachel Meade. I would not be surprised to see settlements, as their legal teams will be looking carefully at the judgements.

Obviously other key factors are the sad news about the sexual assaults in school and rapists becoming TW. Clearly no one can say they were not warned.

Apportionment
70. The total amount payable to the Claimant is:
27,000.00
14,000.00
50,000.00
14,778.47
£ 105,778.47
71. The Tribunal agreed with Mr Cooper’s submission that apportionment was
relevant only to the element of injury to feelings arising from the victimisation, as
Sir Masood Ahmed is not personally liable for that. The Tribunal assessed that at
£5,000 of the total of £25,000, regarding the failure to offer an employed role and
the failure to renew the Visiting Fellowship as overall of greater significance to the
Claimant’s feelings. Interest on the £5,000 would be:
5,000 x 8% = 400
Daily rate, divide by 365 = 1.095
1,144 days = 1,252,68
72. In order to calculate Sir Masood Ahmed’s personal liability (jointly and
severally with the other Respondents, it is therefore necessary to deduct
£6,152.68 from the total of £105,778.47, giving £99,625.79.
Employment Judge Glennie

Hepwo · 30/06/2023 18:16

He said it. His employer didn't make him say it.

Horrible man, he was horrible in court. Useless. Money sucking parasites.

Yes, yes, yes, this is all fantastic, but never forget....

@Thingybob - whoops, missed that you were already on this. Oh well, the Mumsnet version's great too!

ILikeDungs · 30/06/2023 18:26

This is just wonderful. I've opened wine and lift a toast to Maya.

Thank you, thank you

This remains one of my favourites

It’s important to note that the judgement does NOT give Maya Forstater the right to release a despair squid causing hallucinations among the unsuspecting crew of a large mining ship 3 million years from earth crewed by the last human, an evolved cat man, a hologram & a mechanoid.

Mrsorganmorgan · 30/06/2023 18:30

Excellent news. I really hope Allison wins!

Appalonia · 30/06/2023 18:32

That BBC article is from July 2022!

Oblomov23 · 30/06/2023 18:33

Good. But surely that's not a lot, considering what she's been through.

ILikeDungs · 30/06/2023 18:35

Please can people screenshot twitter a bit? I know it must be kicking off on there, and all the good people of GC land will be hulla-ballooing, but as of today I can't see it!

heartofglass23 · 30/06/2023 18:36

Although it sounds like a lot, given her likely previous salary (surely min £40k?) it isn't much compensation for loss of her whole career and decade more in work and progression.

I won't buy a house in London etc.
