Brilliant woman! Her name will be in the history books. WORIAD.

Redshoeblueshoe · 30/06/2023 16:38

Brilliant news

DiabolicalFinial · 30/06/2023 16:43

😂😉🤣

meowgender · 30/06/2023 16:48

This is excellent news. Well done Maya!

Companies will be a lot more cautious about bullying their gender-critical employees now they know they could punished with such a significant sum of money at tribunal.

StormShadow · 30/06/2023 16:59

I guess Pink News have their uses after all.

OvaHere · 30/06/2023 17:00

Great news. Not nearly enough but a lot for an ET.

Well done Maya.

KohlaParasaurus · 30/06/2023 17:02

Pleased for Maya, pleased for the example that has been set.

St0nehenge · 30/06/2023 17:03

LonginesPrime · 30/06/2023 15:49

Great news!

Hope this gets the coverage it deserves in the mainstream press so that other organisations and individuals understand that gender ideology-driven bullying isn't acceptable.

Megyn Kelly in America is following the case! Bet it gets a mention.

Thelnebriati · 30/06/2023 17:04

Fabulous news!

Hepwo · 30/06/2023 17:07

It quite clearly says that they are personally liable but I expect they will misuse development funds to avoid that.

chilling19 · 30/06/2023 17:11

This is such good news. I am so glad that you were vindicated Maya, such a brave woman.

You have saved us from the scene in the first TV episode of the Handmaid's Tale when all the women's bank accounts were closed down and they had to leave their jobs.

When I first read the book, over 20 years ago, it was from the perspective of this will never happen (in the West). When I started watching the TV series, I cried because it was happening. Still is, but the tide is turning because of brave women like you (and Allison, JKR, Jo Phoenix, Denise etc etc.

Warriors all of you. ❤️

timenowplease · 30/06/2023 17:12

Excellent news. Well done Maya.

Did she get costs as well and is so how much?? Cheers.

IamRoyFuckingKent · 30/06/2023 17:16

So pleased 😀

ChateauMargaux · 30/06/2023 17:17

This is great news... but she has lost her entire career.. at the age of 50, she would have had at least 10 years ahead of her, I would hazard a guess that she was on more than 10k a year.

StormShadow · 30/06/2023 16:59

I guess Pink News have their uses after all.

Who would have thought? I weep for GCD 😂 Looking at the damages judgment there wasn't a huge difference between what the original judge said and what GCD told Pink News but there was a difference. Now companies know to mind what they say to the press. Even Pink News (which barely counts)

This is excellent news. Allison next, please.

BoreOfWhabylon · 30/06/2023 17:27

Brilliant! WORIAD Warrior Woman!

Incidentally, for a hugely enjoyable satirical take on the whole saga, I heartily recommend Simon Edge's novel "In The Beginning". Couldn't stop laughing.

WeWillLookBack · 30/06/2023 17:29

YAH !! So pleased to read this.

Datun · 30/06/2023 17:31

That's that's fantastic news. Well done to Maya.

She is a true warrior, she's sacrificed everything for the sake of what she believed. And so that other women can talk.

And yes, we see all the bloody live long day how TRAs twist things and misrepresent them, lie and employ a shit ton of hyperbole. It's good to know that there are judges out there who not only see straight through all that crap, but will make sure there are consequences for employing it.

chilling19 · 30/06/2023 17:31

Thingy - 😂😂😂😂 - needed this today

Appalonia · 30/06/2023 17:32

Reading that judgement, it did make me chuckle that it refers to 'hurt feelings' and, despite TRAs always wanging on about having their feelings hurt for the most spurious reasons, Maya has actually been given a wad of cash for them! Oh, the delicious irony!😁

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 30/06/2023 17:34

That's fantastic news 😀
Should be higher IMO but a victory nonetheless!

IWillNoLie · 30/06/2023 17:42

That is great. But is there any discussion of costs?
