Great news, well done to everyone that's made this possible. Terrible shame it needs to be fought in the first place. Hopefully they can clarify what's to happen at the lower levels.

Good news, but the BBC's wording around this issue gives me the rage:

World Athletics has banned transgender female athletes from competing in the female category
is confusing, it reads as if they're talking about FtM not MtF
They are not female.

We're not saying no forever
WTF? Why?

It's mad that people were even considering that it could be made fair.

I was moved to tears reading about Caster Semenya and how she's been treated, way before all the gender stuff started.

I hope she can be treated with the respect she deserves.

How will the US, Canada, NZ etc cope with having to tell the difference between a man and a woman for events on their soil then?

Will world athletics be at odds with their laws or will these countries magically be able to see sex instead of gender when someone puts on a running strip? (Linford Christie eat your heart out...)

Will these governments decide to throw their weight around or will they suck it up in the face of evidence? If they suck it up with evidence, how does the rest of the house of cards remain standing in terms of the Emperor's new clothes?

They are setting up a group which will keep an eye out for any emerging science. I’m really not bothered by this, because the day they prove men do not have an advantage over women in sport, will never come.
I think the group is being set up so they can’t be accused of hating trans people.

Gosh, such good news. I have felt the tide turning in little steps recently but this is a HUGE leap in the return to common sense. Go Seb!

Great news.

I'm hoping that there will be a trickle down effect. If a country cannot field a TW in a women's athletics event at world level, there is less reason to give them a place on a training route that it designed to funnel athletes to the top. (And thereby deprive an actual female of a place.)
