Standing for women - Portland rally cancelled over violent threats

Not quite sure what's happened - seems there were credible threats to women's lives over these protests.

twitter.com/StandingforXX

Now it seems a few women went ahead and met up and were attacked. (Nobody seriously hurt as far as I can tell)

Hoping everyone is safe and well.

Cream pie? Wasn't some bloke posing with hunting knives and crowdfunding for more weapons.

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 18:33

SecretTransTwitterEngineer · 27/10/2022 17:58

"violent threats"

Cream pies, like Anita Bryant got (tho I'd contend that JKR is more like Anita Bryant).

"violent threats"

What like misgendering and women saying no?

But yeah, way to show hatred toward women by dismissing activists throwing things at women who are saying no and singing songs that the activists don't like.

What is your point about who else has had one thrown at them?

The correct response should only have been 'violence is unacceptable'.

That you chose not to write that says all we need to know about you.

ArabellaScott · 27/10/2022 18:37

Helleofabore, the cream pie throwing was the first, the second assault was two males actually manhandling and injuring a woman (it was hard to see what was going on but it seems she needed treatment).

OP posts:
ArabellaScott · 27/10/2022 18:37

And yes, there was a man posing with knives, and sharing a list of things he wanted people to bring to the protest, including pepper spray, etc

True Arabella. I would suspect someone so interested in the topic who is a Twitter engineer knows exactly how to find those videos on Twitter and be properly informed.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 27/10/2022 18:46

SantaCarlaCalifornia · 27/10/2022 12:52

The gender critical woman who was struck by a cream pie? My deepest condolences.

That's hilarious. If a GC woman did that to a trans person, you'd be screeching that it was attempted murder (and probably trying to pin it on Kiwi Farms).

It would deffo be Kiwi Farms fault somehow….marg would get there in the end

and im actually disappointed, i really didn’t think marg was like that…silly me

True Arabella. I would suspect someone so interested in the topic who is a Twitter engineer knows exactly how to find those videos on Twitter and be properly informed.

I’ll put good money on those videos having been watched already

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 18:55

yes Rufus. Watched and dismissed.

Because dismissing actual assault (surely having an object hit you would qualify as some kind of assault) in Portland and the videoed attack on a woman packing up and in the middle of a mob is just showing hatred toward women.

MargaritaPie · 27/10/2022 19:24

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 12:16

Word on Twitter is KJK set up beside a school and the students came out the building to call her out on her hate. Further proof perhaps that the younger generation are more tolerant of transpeople than the older gen.

She set up in a public square. That it was beside a school was coincidence.

Do you read what you write?

Do you understand at all that yelling, screaming and deliberately drowning out women speaking is the antithesis of ‘tolerance’? Tolerance is letting people have their say even if you vehemently disagree.

But I guess if you change the meaning of woman, the meaning of tolerance is even easier to change isn’t it?

KJK then asked the principal to "make the kids go back inside". But wait, isn't that "cancelling" them? If KJK can have her say then so should everyone else, right?

They didn’t let people have their say in a respectful manner though, did they? Intimidating a group of mostly women by coming very close into where the group was and yelling slurs and generally intimidating women is not appropriate behaviour. Had they stayed up on the edge where they were at the start, fine. But they didn’t. Their behaviour was all
about intimidation and silencing women.

That you have posted this on this thread really shows you have little regard for the safety of women. For the safety of anyone who disagrees with you. I think we knew this, but thanks for the confirmation and the reminder.

Any comment?

Did you see the footage of the students then pushing around those from the rally who remained? That’s also acceptable to you?

It is right there on KJK’s channel.

Any comment?

"drowning out women speaking"

KJK has screamed "groomers" at transpeople and their parents. To me that isn't "women speaking about women's rights", that sort of behaviour is just someone being abusive.

ok being abusive to an extent may be permitted under free speech laws depending on the local jurisdiction, but remember everyone in the vicinity also has free speech to call out abusers.

"Their behaviour was all about intimidation and silencing women."

Nope, how I (and others I'm sure) see it it's about calling out hate and abuse.

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 19:31

That is ok pie. You can choose to ignore they you have dismissed the violence and the threatening behaviour.

Readers and regulars will judge your posts as they are.

That you cannot see the issues with your posts and how they have linked to show a particular pattern is your own to deal with.

Helleofabore · 27/10/2022 19:34

That. Not they.

apologies

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 27/10/2022 19:39

That is ok pie. You can choose to ignore they you have dismissed the violence and the threatening behaviour

I don’t think anyone should be assaulted, threatened or abused

obviously some posters think its ok depending who you are assaulting, threatening or abusing

like i said….disappointing

Tahoma update

This is the aftermath of April's hand being crushed.
She is a dance teacher and so will lose all of her income as she won’t be able to work.

I believe it was not as bad as it could have been, because KJ pulled out, which I think was the right decision. Here is the person being interviewed a decade ago:

Asdavaluesausage · 28/10/2022 10:21

This may be me being cynical and assigning Nasty motives to people, but is the fact it was a cream pie, thrown by a male significant? From what I understand, this is a porn term. I wish I did not know this but I do.

Helleofabore · 28/10/2022 10:23

"Their behaviour was all about intimidation and silencing women."

Nope, how I (and others I'm sure) see it it's about calling out hate and abuse.

I don’t see anyone jumping in to agree with you. Maybe they will come soon.

Maybe secrettranstwitterengineer will return for support. How fabulous. The two of you can continue to dismiss and minimise violence towards women.

I think it is wonderful though that you really have let your true self be seen on these threads lately.

Just keep on dehumanising women who disagree with you and dismissing violence against women.

We’ll keep using your posts as a live demonstration of how extreme activists show their hatred of women who disagree with them.

Asdavaluesausage · 28/10/2022 10:31

Isn’t it funny how those accounts obsessed with calling out abuse and hate speech only call out one side…. Almost like death threats, assault and abuse are ok if you’re wearing the right flag/pampers/pronouns….. looking at you @MargaritaPie and @SecretTransTwitterEngineer

This appears to be the core belief.

If you are Righteous then anything you do is righteous by extension and definitely someone else's fault. (Possibly you were possessed by their demons or something.)

If you are a sinner and a heathen then anything you do is evil and if you dare get out of your box or even twitch towards anything your masters do freely, then bring on the crucifixions and burning of witches.

The religious mania is getting really hard to miss.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 28/10/2022 14:16

@MargaritaPie @SecretTransTwitterEngineer

You seem to have a scale of acceptable assaults and threats.

Can you please put the following in order from least problematic to most problematic?

Throwing a cream pie at someone taking part in a non-violent protest
Referring to someone by their birth sex not their chosen gender
Putting up feminist stickers that state sex matters
Posing with weapons you plan to bring to a counterprotest
Posing with weapons and rhetoric about which people you would like to use them on
Sending rape and death threats to named individuals

TIA

On that note, let us inspect this, which was deemed "hateful conduct" by the twitter mods.

It uses all the approved transgender-accepting language, but that's not enough, because the wrong kind of person tweeted it.
