Not quite sure what's happened - seems there were credible threats to women's lives over these protests.

Now it seems a few women went ahead and met up and were attacked. (Nobody seriously hurt as far as I can tell)

Hoping everyone is safe and well.

Funny you should mention that, because there are statements on twitter that the counter protestor tried to mace Jeanna Hoch, and that the children he was with may have got caught in it. Crucially, there is film footage of the man with the earpiece carrying a can of mace. Also of him spitting at women. Be right back with links and images.

And he WASN'T a kid.

Asdavaluesausage · 29/10/2022 20:59

I thought that might be more the case @PurgatoryOfPotholes id seen pictures of the counter protesters looking rather tooled up. Also with chin mikes etc. they came prepared. These were not schoolchildren. I think it’s disgusting some posters on here who are trying to downplay a violent assault on women.

Why were these counter protesters assaulting women?

Who knows, perhaps because they'd been pepper-sprayed, I can understand children panicking when adults attack them with chemical weapons.

Children.

But they were screaming and attacking the women first? And from the photos above, you’ve got a very lax definition of schoolchild there. How are you defining child? Were the women supposed to just take being screamed at and assaulted? Why do you think those ‘children’ Had any right to behave like that?

livvyposts · 29/10/2022 21:07

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 29/10/2022 21:05

Children.

The independent press report suggests five people were treated for pepper spray. Hoch all but admits it according to the article.

Asdavaluesausage · 29/10/2022 21:11

Oh so not children. People. I see. Are women not supposed to fight back ehem they’re being attacked now? And you have proof of Hoch admitting to randomly pepper stating 5 innocent bystanders do you? Not an article written by someone else but in her own words?

livvyposts · 29/10/2022 21:13

But they were screaming and attacking the women first?

Were they? All the press said is that Hoch accused someone of touching her. I don't think anyone who wasn't there can really honestly say what happened but there certainly seems more to it than has been presented on this thread.

Asdavaluesausage · 29/10/2022 21:13

And these er… schoolchildren….oh mean college students right? So not little children. But adults.

I think I'd rather trust an independent journalist reporting on the story than 'her own words'. People who've just attacked someone with a chemical weapon are probably not the most reliable witnesses.

You’re the one downplaying women being abused and assaulted. By men. For stating biological facts and protesting losing their rights. That’s what you’re defending.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 29/10/2022 21:17

No she doesn't. The article quotes her saying what he did. There are no quotes from her saying that she used pepper spray.

I think a man breaking a woman's fingers is a bad look. I think turning up to a women's event, clearly equipped for violence is a bad look. I think the time a young male punched an elderly woman at a British event was a bad look. And I think it's a bad look for a group of people to be physically aggressive and intimidating to women in a public space.

Quote from twitter

Gaye this is the adult man who was stalking and abusing them not a kid. If kids got backsplash it’s bc they were walking w/ this adult. You can see him walking in this video toward her. He had an earpiece in and a CAN OF MACE, there is no video of her spraying kids. Wonder why?

What do you call someone acting like a 3 year old who’s been told no? Have you ever thought that the word children was used ironically? In all the footage of that assault on women, can you find one picture of a young child being assaulted by the women. Just one. I’ll accept you to the age of 14 to give you a sporting chance.

Asdavaluesausage · 29/10/2022 21:20

I think the fact the headline says ‘anti trans protest’ kind of gives you a clue it’s not an independent journalist @livvyposts it’s a bit of a red flag

I have no idea what age the youngest person who was assaulted was, just that the crowd came from a local High School according to reports and were described as angry children by the anti-trans protesters. But only one group are reported to have used weapons at this protest and it wasn't the trans supportive side.

Asdavaluesausage · 29/10/2022 21:24

But weren’t the TRA reported as carrying mace and baseball bats? Or are they not weapons now?

I don't think it's unreasonable to call it an anti-trans protest given the rheotric from this group. It certainly doesn't undermine the credibility of the local reporting.

PurgatoryOfPotholes · 29/10/2022 21:25

More pictures of the trans protestors here. The males (who look extremely over 14!) are wearing gloves on a hot day. Odd, eh?
Why? Well, if you zoom in, they look odd around the knuckles.

They were wearing gloves with knuckledusters incorporated, so they could do extra damage if they punched anyone.

'Local reporting'? Weren't the police called 23 times?

I don't think the words 'local' and 'reporting' carry the weight you think they do.

Datun · 29/10/2022 21:28

Christ, are they meant to be 'children' ???

It kinda does. Not exactly unbiased reporting there. And what exactly were they saying that was anti trans? So far all you’ve done is support women being assaulted and beaten for not supporting trans ideology. You’d have had a ball in the 14th century with all the heretics.
