I'm minded of all the politicians and celebrities who queued up to pose next to Camila Batmanghelidjh, eager to show how supportive and understanding they were to the poor kiddywinkses. Maybe some people's brains are particularly susceptible to dazzling, bright rainbow colours, meaning they lose all common sense? Like the artwork on a flyer for an illegal rave making your eyes go funny?

I've just looked up the trustees of the charity at which I volunteer. All were either once grass roots volunteers at the place themselves or have a professional background in a relevant area (disability/charity finance). They make the effort to meet volunteers regularly and explain who they are and what they do. So a shoestring budget local charity can manage it, but a big national one with millions in funding can't?
