Kellie Jay Keen and Tucker Carlson of Fox News

I used to admire Kellie Jay Keen for her staunch defence of women's rights and her refusal to bow down to the bullies. But I'm so over her now. Last night I watched one of her YouTube videos and she praised Tucker Carlson to the skies, saying what what a good guy he is. For those of you who don't know, Carlson is a right wing troll who has been accused of being a white supremacist. He presents an insanely popular talk show on US Fox News, on which KJL has appeared on several times. Carlson also pushes the "great replacement" theory and no-one with progressive principles should have anything to do with him, let alone normalise his racism. My guess is that KJK has swallowed the "my enemy's enemy is my friend" line and is going down a dangerous rabbit hole. But I'm out.

Shouldn't it be a 'concernedfrenemy'?

FOJN · 23/05/2022 20:24

She's at it again; centering women and giving no fucks. Go KJK.

Why is Tucker Carslon saying feminists are totally onboard with FGM in the segment with Christopher Rufo from last week?

you might be better emailing him directly

im not sure that anyone here will know

DysonSphere · 23/05/2022 20:59

Here's an older segment here:. He feels American Feminists should be making FGM a priority feature of their manifesto or something and thinks they are not.

As the First Minister she met with a politician with different political views. Happens every single day. And not at all comparable.

And Harriet Harman?

Sturgeon is First Minister. What on earth is she doing swanning around internationally? She has no remit or political power internationally. This was supposedly to discuss “Scotland’s core values”.

What on earth relevance do "Scotland's core values" (whatever they might be) have to do with Alabama and the Republican, Trump supporting governor of Alabama? I can only assume this was an SNP fund raiser tapping into deluded Americans who think they are Scottish.

This is in no way comparable with an actual Prime Minister or Foreign Secretary meeting a dubious head of state or similar.

KimikosNightmare · 24/05/2022 00:26

He's not even the governor. He co-chairs the Friends of Scotland caucus in Congress. It's a funds raiser.

Thank you for this share! I haven’t heard her speak for a while. She is brilliant. I admire her clarity and passion. I found her statement at the start a good example of genuine inclusion and applaud her rejection of purity spirals and sticking to her single issue upon which a variety of women from different backgrounds, across the political spectrum, of all faiths and none can agree and stand united.

I don't think I'd lean on him to be an ally to women either but I still think KJK is not answerable to other women and feminists in speaking to whoever the fuck she feels like and employ whichever platforms she chooses to express her own opinion.

That's the thing about feminism, right? It's a tapestry of partial agreements, not a script.

Feminism is not a brand. We don't have to agree with each other or approve of each other or read the same newspapers or watch the same news channels or vote the same way. We don't even have to like each other. All you have to do, as far as I'm concerned, is support women's rights in whichever way you think is best.

Not advancing some women while throwing others under the bus.

My thoughts entirely. Couldn't have put it better.

And so what? I don't agree with everything that Jean Hatchet says.

Really, what is the point of continuing this line of dialogue. If you don't want to watch Kellie Jay, don't. If you are doing better at getting the message out than her, brilliant post your stuff and we shall follow what you do as well.

If you are so determined to undermine a woman who appeals to a wide range of other women that you feed that undermining action, go for it. From having spoken in person to KJK, I doubt she would care a fuck. She gives no fucks, and after watching people like Jean Hatchet and others, I don't give any fucks either. I shall appreciate them for who they are, warts and all.

How should anyone here know? He obvously doesn't know much about the subject, because feminists have been opposing FGM for decades. It was a small triumph when we managed to get the worrds changed from 'female circumcision' (which sounds much less violent than the reality) to 'female genital mutilation'.

And who cares what some random man says about feminists anyway?

NecessaryScene · 25/05/2022 18:19

I'm trying to imagine similar scenes on a forum of Tucker Carlson supporters where someone is posting videos from Posie Parker's channel, demanding to know why she's saying something other, and why Carlson is appearing with her, and pointing out that KJK is not an ally.

Millions of Americans who don't want gun restrictions are also going to think Trans ideology is wrong.

Not just Tucker Carlson.

What's Jean Hackett going to do about that?

It's going to get very exhausting to have to perpetually denounce people when you realise they agree with on something but you think they are bad.

It's not necessary.
Just agree on some things and disagree on others.
Easy.

BlessedKali · 25/05/2022 21:09

KJK - you are amazing.

Does anyone have the link to the Tucker Carlson interview? I can't find it....

But Kellie does not say anything that Tuckers fans would disagree with.
