I see that a bunch of masked men surrounded the Pankhurst statue so that the women couldn't stand in front of ot, and there was a transwoman creeping around taking photos.

It was bloody great. It was fantastic to see Kellie Jay, l, Mr Menno, DrEm, Belstaffie and a everyone else

MagnoliaTaint · 15/05/2022 17:17

Well, there's nothing that shows more clearly why women are speaking up about their concerns than a mob of males in balaclavas and hoodies hanging around trying to threaten and intimidate us, is there?

What do they mean by 'funded by Stonewall', btw, anyone know?

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 15/05/2022 17:18

How can they not look at those images and have a moment of self doubt that maybe they are the baddies?

Well done all! And approval from the Queen too!

Actually feeling quite sorry for these wee lost souls: twitter.com/GSpellchecker/status/1525837346981220352

The poem at 36m is very good. I hope it gets shared widely. So true:

'You're someones pension pot , they get paid every time you have an op'

The GP at 24m was also powerful, they all were.

The woman at 50m speaks of trans flags colonising the Emmeline Pankhurst statue at the event. This is so symbolic. Men are colonising women, women's bodies, women's identities, women's spaces, women's history, women's medical care women's minds. Trans ideology is colonial.

The phallic lenses trying to encroach were predictable.

PrelateChuckles · 15/05/2022 17:26

As horrible as it as that MRAs feel entitled to do this, it's made it a HELL of a lot easier for me to talk to friends and family about this sort of thing.

I may be a rabid old uterus-haver but ultimately, I'm pretty lazy, and more than happy for others to do my job for me.

Moppincraxy · 15/05/2022 17:32

The guys dressed in black with balaclavas look like the police-type people in Handmaid's Tale. I can't remember what they were called.

Theeyeballsinthefuckingsky · 15/05/2022 17:46

All dressed in black with faces covered and yet it’s completely possible to identify their sex isn’t it

funny how no mythical “genital inspection” is required to know that they are men

dropthevipers · 15/05/2022 17:48

Christ, these MRA are even thicker than I thought (which is saying something). This was clearly organised so at some point someone said at a meeting-"I know, let's turn up dressed like the Provisional IRA-that'll show them". Fuckwit doesn't even begin to cover it.

Appledrop · 15/05/2022 17:50

Thanks for the link, just finished watching it. Fab turn out. Well done to all speakers and those who attendend in support.

I was there. It was amazing. Such a shame we couldn’t get near the statue but I think the TRAs showed their true colours in their masks and balaclavas. Police did a pretty good job keeping the two groups separate, and it was awesome to meet such amazing women.

FlipperSkipper · 15/05/2022 17:57

Also quite fitting that we ended up by an art installation about victims of domestic violence.

PronounssheRa · 15/05/2022 18:01

The optics of balaclava wearing men trying to stop women gathering is just 🤯

Right side of history, both sides blah blah blah

Great event, came away feeling inspired and have a load of new friends. Thank you to all of the brave speakers and all those that attended.

tootiredtobother · 15/05/2022 18:11

Jesus H Christ, why didnt the police move the MRA away from the statue? we really can not have anything for ourselves can we

Clymene · 15/05/2022 18:15

Provisional IRA and assaulting a woman. Vulnerable oppressed minority.

IdiditOK · 15/05/2022 18:18

It was very hot, which made the kids look rather daft, in their hoodies
