Lovely!!!

MagnoliaTaint · 17/05/2022 15:49

to be fair, that forward roll is impossible for some females, too!

But how come for males, is there a bone in the way or something?

MagnoliaTaint · 17/05/2022 15:49

I SAID BONE

MagnoliaTaint · 17/05/2022 15:50

Sorry, I really am curious, Curious!

SamphirethePogoingStickerist · 17/05/2022 16:18

😂😜 Oh dear. First time I have ever actually laughed out loud.

That Q angle is the angle of the femur from the hip to the knee. In women, with our broader hips, the angle is greater. This means some things are harder for us, watch any woman riding a bike and you wil see her knees stick out, the angle also means women are more likely to experience pain in the knee, because we just aren't built to run either.

You can see in the picture that the female legs deviates from an imaginary central line from the hip, the femur is at a much steeper angle, puts more pressure on the structure around the knee, requires more recruitment of muscle fibres, ligaments etc, to remain stable.

But we do have a broader base to stand on, are more balanced. And in that hip rotation a woman's hips rotate outside her body line with just a small adjustment of stance, you just lift your heel off the floor and lean a little and your hip is outside your body line and can rotate, but the narrow Q angle of men means they just can't get the roll without hanging on to something and leaning sideways as their centre of gravity, narrow base of balance won't allow the hip to rotate that way.

You see it on catwalks. A woman on a catwalk accentuates the hip movement and looks, well, catlike.

Watch Drag Race and see how men look when they do it! It's why no transwoman 'passes' once in motion. The body language is all wrong and it is very, very noticeable. Transmen can hide it more convincingly but many eventually don't bother because they find it cumbersome.

Fascinating! Thank you. Also a fantastic excuse to never run again. Grin

IcakethereforeIam · 17/05/2022 16:47

Really interesting, I always called that movement 'earthmother'.

There's an article in today's Guardian about a study on the different types of injuries suffered by women in car crashes. I posted a quote from it on another thread. Women are more likely to suffer pelvic injuries because we sit closer to the doors, closer to the steering wheel and peddles. Crash tests were done with scaled down male dummies and didn't accurately reflect the actual anatomy of women. Well, who knew? Not just smaller men then.

MagnoliaTaint · 17/05/2022 17:01

Caroline Criado Perez wrote quite a bit about crash test dummies, car design and the default male, I think - in Invisible Women.

IcakethereforeIam · 17/05/2022 17:16

Yes, they referenced that book in the article, I couldn't remember the title. I think her book may have inspired the studies.

Cos that forward roll is impossible for men

OMG, I didn't know this. One day we were bored and I tried to teach my Nigel my workout routine from a woman-only class, which has a lot of hip movement.

I was amazed how bad he was at it, he is a bendy man with great balance and co-ordination (and he was able to do at least one of those "only women can do this" viral videos) but he looked completely ridiculous trying to rotate his hips with his upper body still. Now I feel guilty for laughing at him!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/05/2022 17:47

now saying that because nobody applauded a woman who spoke at the event and said 'transwomen are women

Grin give over, LOJ.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/05/2022 17:50

They'll bang on about sport

Which will never, ever be conceded by genderists because when they admit in any way that MTFs and women are not the same and should be treated differently for some things, their whole ideology crumbles.

FemaleAndLearning · 17/05/2022 18:50

I was at the meeting in Manchester. I didn't see the woman being attacked. In my opinion she was just trying to get on the statue. The Black Pampers didn't want us anywhere near the statue. If she is guilty of anything it is persistent. Funny Mr Menno got on the statue and I don't think anyone tried to push him off.

When we arrived the police liaison officer almost asked us what side we were on then checked his words. When we said we here for a women's rights meeting he sent us over the road to the Central London Library. The police wanted to keep us all separate.

It was the same at Nottingham the trans activists got there early and would not move from the statue where we were meeting. Less of them and no police. To be honest they are so thick, they keep doing this and don't realise it is such a bad look for them. We want men out of our spaces, we arrange to meet and they take over the spaces that have been arranged and permission given to attend! Let's hope they keep it up.
Women at the event spoke to the public and calmly explained our points. They would look over the other side of the tram lines and it was very clear who they supported. The public would not be able to approach the activists given how loud and intimidating they were.

Baroness Nicholson has written a fabulous letter of complaint, which she has just posted on her Twitter feed

MaudeYoung · 17/05/2022 22:09

What a magnificent letter. Thank you Baroness Nicholson.

RhannionKPSS · 17/05/2022 22:54

The Baroness is so polite, reasoned and deadly all at the same time!

FemaleAndLearning · 17/05/2022 23:16

Fantastic letter from the Baroness.

Dan Wooton, GB News has just nominated the Black Ninjas as Union Jack Asses. However just before this he had an interview with a journalist who has written on Antifa and they talked quite a bit about Manchester. Quite chilling.

GrumpyMenopausalWombWielder · 18/05/2022 20:36

This is well worth a read
