There's a bloke holding up a banner saying 'Radical Trans Liberation Now'. Anyone know what that means?🤔

I have noticed in the recent months that ‘trans liberation’ is being used a whole lot more. After recent incidents and court cases that have been won, guidances issued etc.

It seems to be an attempt to distract away from appearing to uphold some rather totalitarian and other problematic tactics. Tactics and claims that have been shown to be unreasonable and in some instances, very harmful.

Liberation certainly fits the ‘most oppressed and most vulnerable’ narrative too.

As horrible as it as that MRAs feel entitled to do this, it's made it a HELL of a lot easier for me to talk to friends and family about this sort of thing.

I may be a rabid old uterus-haver but ultimately, I'm pretty lazy, and more than happy for others to do my job for me.

Why have you assumed they are MRAs? Have you considered they were TRAs, which is 100% different?

"I knew they were going to spin it to make us seem more violent"

Interesting truth slipped in there in 'more' violent.

They are just very naught boys.

Their GC mums are probably busy on MN

FemaleAndLearning · 16/05/2022 07:47

Fantastic talent, I loved her poem and Ajay's as well.

NecessaryScene · 16/05/2022 08:01

I'm intrigued by this assertion that MRAs and TRAs are "100% different". Sounds like a bit of a binary view. Surely it's a spectrum?

Can you point to something that all TRAs have that no MRA has? What's the universal shared experience of a TRA that means that an MRA can't be one?

Are you saying someone assigned MRA can't choose to be a TRA? Bit bigotted.

Actually feeling quite sorry for these wee lost souls: twitter.com/GSpellchecker/status/1525837346981220352

I kind of agree. Looking at some of the audience there, you can't help but think that they were the kind of people who were destined to a life of dungeons & and dragons and wa*nking over Game of Thrones before TRAs came along and let them believe that trans activism somehow makes them interesting.

Two comments on Stephen Knight's Twitter thread made me laugh, 'pound shop ninja' and 'traliban'. I thought both were inspired.

The best one has to be The Barbie Meinhof Gang.

Waitwhat23 · 16/05/2022 00:15

It reads as co-opting the history of women's oppression as somehow being trans oppression. Surprised they haven't attempted to link slavery, the Holocaust and Pol Pot as proof of how mean everyone us to them.

EmotionalSupportWyrm · 16/05/2022 09:43

Julie Bindel has just asked on twitter which genius came up with "black pampers" ? 🤣

I can't get over the balaclavas. Did no-one warn them about the optics?
What were their mums thinking, letting them go out dressed like that?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/05/2022 10:07

They think they are guerrillas.

Mandodari · 16/05/2022 10:10

@dropthevipers
It sounds like something produced by Rick from The Young Ones. If they did a remake of that show, his character would be one of those idiots demanding is rights to have sex with lesbians.

Abhannmor · 16/05/2022 10:27

Like an awful Kevin and Perry tribute act 😆

Eyesofdisarray · 16/05/2022 10:30

Eh? Did I read IW's tweet correctly? Comparing JKR with Saville? WTAF????

Loving all the comments re the ninjas- made me chuckle on a miserable Monday 😂

FatFucker · 16/05/2022 10:43

I'm still raging at the police just standing there watching women being assaulted!

Then asking her "Are you a feminist?" as if it was a negative thing.

I want to complain that the police did not arrest the guy who was assaulting that woman by the statue.

SpindleInTheWind · 16/05/2022 10:52

I saw the interview with the new HM Inspector of Constabulary this morning in The Times, and I think I shall write to him about this.

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/were-not-thought-police-insists-new-chief-inspector-of-constabulary-zg6hgbhm7

Sorry I haven't got a share token, but you can get the gist of it from the opening two paras:

Police forces are “not the thought police” and must focus on driving down crime given that charge rates are at their lowest in more than 30 years, the new chief inspector of constabulary has said.

Andy Cooke told The Times that chief constables needed to “avoid politics with the small p”, follow the law and remember that “different thoughts” were not an offence.

I think Greater Manchester Police has lost sight of what crime looks like, notably crime against women.

MagnoliaTaint · 16/05/2022 10:54

The trans activists in the clip mostly look so very young. I do wonder how much they are aware of what they're actually protesting.
